We have had the most wonderful experience getting married at Barony Castle. We first visited for a wedding open day and we were blown away by how beautiful the Elibank Suite is. Barony had everything we were looking for; stunning ceremony space, the right amount of privacy for our day, beautiful grounds for pictures, lots of space for our guests to stay.
Hannah (wedding co-ordinator) was exceptional. She was an invaluable part of our wedding planning with her guidance, communication, organisation and pre-wedding meetings. She co-ordinated the day so perfectly for us, everything ran so smoothly and we appreciate her lead in this.
The food is stunning. The staff are amazing. We were so looked after from our first visit and every time we have been.

There is so much included in the wedding packages on offer, we were so appreciative about how transparent they were and nothing was too much to ask. We found that other venues almost tripped you up with extras that you would have to pay but Barony were so clear and we feel we got so much for our money. They have lots of recommended suppliers, Beautifully covered provided stunning decor for our ceremony and had lots more on offer.

We feel that they truly wanted us to have the day we dreamed of and delivered it seamlessly.

Barony Castle is an absolutely stunning venue for any wedding. We had full use of the hotel & loved every second. The grounds are stunning for pictures & there's plenty of space for over night guests. Hannah, our wedding planner, made sure our day went nearly perfect. The food was excellent too! My husband & I were both very happy with our wedding at Barony. It's lovely when we return and the staff remember us too! Looking forward to celebrating our 1st anniversary at Barony too.

We could not have chosen a better place to marry than the Barony Castle Hotel. From the moment we walked through the door to quietly observe the venue, Hannah and the dedicated hotel staff welcomed us with open arms, sharing our vision of creating a magical day not only for us, but for each and every one of our guests. The Barony Castle Hotel offered an enchanting location at an affordable cost, along with a comprehensive package where every detail was taken care of, from the flowers and music to the exquisite photos and an elegant wedding cake. All we had to do was relax and enjoy. Over a year of planning from two far away countries, and on the day itself, Hannah and the highly professional staff graciously accommodated every single one of our requests, tailoring our wishes into a seamless event that our guests called "a wedding of a lifetime."

We had a wonderful wedding at the Barony. Hannah and the staff were so friendly and willing to help with any request no matter how small. We had the baronial package and it made the whole planning aspect a lot easier as you had most of the main things included. Very much looking forward to going back for our 1 year anniversary. x

We had a truly lovely day at our wedding. Everything ran smoothly overall, and the team were incredibly helpful throughout the process. Our wedding coordinator, Hannah, in particular was fantastic — always on hand to answer questions and make sure things came together just as we’d hoped.

The food was simply outstanding — by far the best meal we’ve ever had at a wedding, and so many of our guests commented on how delicious it was. Even though the weather didn’t fully cooperate (storm Floris), the venue offered plenty of beautiful indoor spots for photos, which turned out wonderfully.

The suites were lovely, and having access to both the Eddleston and adjoining Darnhall in the morning was absolutely perfect for getting ready and relaxing before the ceremony.

We’d also like to give a special mention to two members of staff who truly went above and beyond — Noah and Jack. Their professionalism, friendliness, and attention to detail were exceptional and really stood out to us and our guests.

Our wedding day was very well executed, especially the meal. We had a few meetings with wedding coordinator, Hannah in the lead up to the big day which gave us plenty of opportunities to ask questions and get organised. She was also very reachable over the phone and email and keen to accommodate our requests where possible.

We got married on the front lawn which was beautiful and we had a brilliant day. Thanks for everything!

Barony Castle didn't disappoint. We attended one of the wedding fares and I just knew this was the place I was going to take my vows.
The pathway down to the alter with elm trees intertwined to make a tunnel was stunning and the sunlight bursting through the gaps made it very magical. Two years planning our intimate wedding and the help we got from Hannah and the team were amazing. The few days we were there for the wedding ALL of the staff were amazing and nothing was too much to do for you. All my guests and ourselves appreciate how friendly and helpful they were. The wedding day was perfect and we probably had the hottest day in Scotland ever. I just can't thank them all enough for making our day extra special. Everything ran smoothly and everyone really had the best time. I would highly recommend Barony Castle. Just wish I could do it all again

We got married at barony castle our dream wedding. The venue it's self was beautiful and felt like a dream getting married in a castle. The ground are beautiful and the staff are amazing also, the wedding coordinator absolutely amazing and will go above and beyond for you and your hubby to be. The restaurant manager also stood out to us she was so helpful bubbly friendly and really kind throughout our whole wedding journey. The value for money was great they have two packages to choose from. Beautifully covered have alot of decor to choose from as well which are all beautiful.

We have stayed at Barony Castle for overnight spa breaks for a number of years now and it soon became our favourite getaway. After our proposal in the grounds we knew Barony would be the perfect wedding venue.

Hannah our wedding planner, and all the staff, are a real credit to Barony Castle. Hannah guided us every step of the way throughout the planning process and on the day itself. She ensured we had the perfect day and that everything ran smoothly.

From our previous stays, we already knew how amazing the food and drinks were, but as part of our package we were invited up to sample all four courses of our wedding meal, including drinks, and we were blown away by the quality. All of our guests commented on how much they enjoyed their meals and on the food and drinks in general as most of our guests stayed for two nights.

As for the actual venue itself, the grounds are stunning. Even after all these years we are still finding lovely new areas when we go out for our walks.

The Elibank and Meldons function rooms are both beautiful and when set up on the day, looked absolutely stunning!

The guest bedrooms are cosy, comfortable and always clean. We have stayed in most of the suites now which are all amazing, the Dean View and Eddleston suites in particular are gorgeous. We enjoyed an extra nights stay after our wedding in the Dean View which we would highly recommend.

As part of our package, we were provided with and recommended all of our wedding suppliers. Again, these were all fantastic, easy to deal with, super friendly and professional in their work. Special shout outs to Brian Cassidy (Photographer) and his lovely wife Irene, Lynsey (Florist, Blooming Bunch), Beth Ritchie (Makeup Artist), Emily French (Hairdresser). Not only were they all amazing at their jobs, but were the kindest, friendliest people who made our day extra special.

All in all, we simply cannot recommend Barony Castle highly enough. We had the most amazing wedding day and wish we could do it all again!

My husband and I planned on have a large wedding with almost 100 people. As we started planning this wedding, we started hating the idea more and more of how much time, and money, and effort went into planning this. We already had out yearly trip planned to Scotland, and I jokingly asked if he would be ok with an elopement style wedding at a castle in the UK when we went. The idea grew more and more on us. So, we reached out to our immediate family and they were ok with the idea. Of all the places we looked at this had the best packages for the price. We reached out and they sent over some many photos and fell in love instantly. But it wasn't jus the pricing and scenery we fell in love with. The wedding planner, Hannah, was so sweet and really made you feel like you were a member of their tiny town that everyone knows everyone and invites you over for dinner. We booked the wedding late December 2024 and she helped plan everything for the wedding in mid March 2025. All we did was send over our pintrest inspo and she did everything from the alter, to the reception set up, the cake, the dinner menu (all we did was pick), the first look with dad and private vow reading, managing vendors. She even asked questions we didnt even think of that really added to the overall experience of our wedding. The hotel, land, and town were just breath taking. There was not one complaint. There is nothing bad that we could say about this place. The rooms were clean and cozy. The bar and restaurant were delicious, loved cooking my steak on the lava stone. Even getting to and from Edinburg was easy. There is a busy that you can get on in the city and take it all the way through the countryside that drops you off at their driveway. And not to mention they have a farm along their driveway with alpacas. The town had a cute little tavern that the group frequented. The grounds have a lot of history. The wedding alter outside and the tree covered aisle were beautiful. Really trusted the process on this and highly recommend a small Scotish countryside wedding here.

We had the most incredible wedding weekend at Barony Castle, nothing was too much trouble, Hannah the wedding coordinator was beyond helpful and gave us great advice and guidance on the lead up to our day.
The setting was absolutely beautiful, we were really happy with the food and the staff were fantastic.
We had the use of 2 of the suites and can not fault either, they both made a gorgeous backdrop for our getting ready pictures.
We thought the barony offered excellent value for money with their wedding package and they were so flexible with lots of our different requests helping make it a stress free and fun lead up to our wedding.

We chose the Barony because of the beautiful location, the friendly staff we met on that first day when reviewing possible wedding venues, the stunning grounds, the amazing wedding room along with the main function room. It provided us with the perfect Scottish wedding, that myself and my Portuguese wife were so keen to share with all our friends and family. Having such a well organised dedicated wedding planner like Hannah, took so much stress away from us. The wedding day went without a hitch, and we’ll remember it forever. The culinary experience was equally exceptional. The chef crafted three delicious menus, including an evening buffet for the guests who arrived the night before the wedding. He also took the time to personally meet with us during the tasting to discuss our dietary needs. Each dish was outstanding!
