Woodhorn Museum, in Ashington, is Northumberland’s largest museum and a truly unique venue for your wedding. The venue combines the North East’s industrial heritage with striking modern architecture and design for a distinct and interesting setting.
Woodhorn has preserved its mining history by making a feature of its original giant pinwheel which, in wonderful contrast to the modern Cutter building, provides a stunning backdrop for your photos. You can take in all of the intricacies of the remarkable building from our extensive lawns.
We are licensed to hold your civil ceremony in three wonderful rooms. Each space offers flexibility for your celebrations and can be elegantly dressed to suit your ceremony, formal meal or evening reception.
The Kilbourn Room is an intimate, modern suite, decorated with prints by Pitman Painter, Oliver Kilbourn. The spacious Winding Room is located on the top floor of the venue, boasting spectacular views across the sea and Cheviot Hills. The largest and most versatile space, The Workshop Galleries, boasts stunning original features from its colliery past.
Woodhorn can cater for weddings with up to 120 guests, treating each person to a delightful dining experience. Bespoke menus can be created by our fantastic chefs to suit your personal tastes and budget. Our food is freshly prepared, beautifully presented and truly delicious.
For an extra treat, you can add a unique element to your day; you could choose to take a trip on a narrow gauge railway, visit the museum or have themed gifts for your guests.
If required, we can also help you with your preparations. From recommending suppliers to assisting with arrangements, we can help as much as you need. At Woodhorn Museum, we are committed to giving you the best day or your lives.
