Dear Julia, every time we met we always enjoyed the planning process, you made all of those decisions very easy and fun. Your advice certainly came with some great ideas for things that we didn’t even consider. We had a fantastic and very memorable day at The Barn. From the team at the event to everyone being cared for so well, the service, food & drink was just perfect. We already know some friends that are returning for dinner, we will be doing the same shortly. Once we get some photos over we will share some with you. The team at Houchins were exceptional from start to finish. They were professional, organised, and incredibly supportive, making sure everything ran smoothly so we could relax and enjoy every moment. Nothing felt rushed, and their attention to detail really showed. Our guests couldn’t stop complimenting the venue — the ceremony space, reception area, and overall charm of Houchins created such an elegant yet relaxed feel. It was the perfect balance of rustic and refined. Thank you

We had our day recently and it was perfect in every single way. From attending open evenings, to booking, throughout the planning stages and the day itself. East Mersea Hall and all the staff there were everything and more that we could ask for, Anneka especially. Nothing was too much, our ideas were embraced with such enthusiasm and our dream came to life. On the day Anneka was there from start to end, enduring the day was as stress free for us as possible and she truly nailed it. She is an asset to the venue. The venue itself has everything we could have asked for, a woodland, pavilion, beautiful outside area and lake - the perfect setting to our Autumnal wedding. Our over night stay in the Bridal Suite was comfortable and provided the much needed rest and relaxation. We couldn’t recommend this venue highly enough, it is perfection in every aspect.
