From our very first viewing of Apton Hall, we were besotted. We walked in, I wandered off in the stables, imagining walking down the aisle in that stunning room…. we had already fallen in love with one room before even exploring the rest! Every room was beautiful, obviously, but the Snug was the seller for us. That room is such an amazing addition to an already gorgeous venue! We could rant and rave about how perfect the venue was all day but the most incredible part of that wonderful place is the team. Hayley and Emma, who we only met a handful of times, but over email, but we spoke more times than I would be prepared to admit! Their constant reassurance has been an absolute saving grace. Abby, you were there from the very start of the day and you’re an angel in human form. Josh & Will…same goes to you. You all played an integral part in our day as it felt like friends were helping the day go smoothly!
Every single team member was amazing, including the kitchen and floor team who made and served us all the most incredible food, and helped me with constant reassurance of my allergies.

We’re unbelievably grateful to you all.

We got married at Apton Hall on 26th September, and we can honestly say it was the best day of our lives!

From the moment we first visited in 2024, we knew instantly that this was the place where, after 20 years together, we wanted to say “I do.” The venue itself is stunning, but what truly sets Apton Hall apart is the incredible team. We felt supported every step of the way, from the planning stages right through to the morning after our wedding.

A special thank you to Hayley and Emma, our main contacts in the run-up to the day. They were always quick to respond, endlessly helpful, and made the whole process feel effortless.

Earlier this year we attended a tasting evening, and we knew straight away that the food would be unforgettable. On the day itself, we were proved right - the canapés, the wedding breakfast, the evening buffet, and even breakfast the next morning were all absolutely delicious. Our guests are still talking about how amazing the food was!

The entire day was everything we could have wished for and more. Thank you to everyone at Apton Hall for helping us create memories we’ll treasure forever.

We had our wedding at Apton Hall, and it was absolutely perfect from start to finish! The venue itself is stunning, full of rustic charm and character , but what truly made the day unforgettable was the incredible team themselves.
Every single member of staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely caring.
Nothing was ever too much to ask, and everything ran so smoothly that we could just relax and enjoy every moment together and with our friends and family.

Our guests commented on how beautiful the setting was and how well-organised everything was. We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better place to celebrate our day.

Knew it was the right venue from the moment we stepped in. Hayley (our wedding co-ordinater ) was amazing, stepping us through the entire wedding planning process. The staff on the day were amazing, everything was already pre-thought out. Beautiful venue with lots of different spaces, we loved it, our guests loved it!

From the moment we found Apton Hall we knew this was the place for us, it was just perfect.
We picked Apton for many reasons but we wanted a venue that didn’t need to be dressed up, a venue that spoke for itself and Apton was just that. The grounds are absolutely beautiful with well kept gardens and a beautiful courtyard with large wooden planters filled with tasteful flowers to go with any theme. The washed red brick of the surrounding barns was just stunning and looks breathtaking no matter what season you get married in. They have three beautiful areas you can get married in, we chose to get married in the courtyard and it was magical, our guests were lost for words and spent all day mentioning just how incredible it was. The pond garden and snug bar are lovely for reception drinks and again it was enjoyed by all our guests. The amount of comments from our guests about it being the best venue they have been to was constant throughout the day and they weren’t wrong!
Not only is the outside stunning but the barns are incredible, finished to such a high standard with beautiful metal chandeliers in every room that really do finish the rooms off and when dressed with foliage look even more stunning. The staff are incredible, the food some of the best we have ever eaten, our guests were blown away with the high standard of service and food.

They have looked after us from the moment we booked, communication is impeccable and a breeze, they are so experienced in what they do that we didn’t worry once about anything. On our Wedding day they were absolutely amazing, the standard of care given was again incredible. Every member of staff present on our day were so incredibly kind and friendly, they really added to our day! They listened to every detail and brought our visions to life making it even better than we ever imagined.

The bridal suite is well equipped and spacious, the girls and I enjoyed getting ready there. The morning buffet supplied was presented so well and was a lovely extra to have on the morning, throughout the day the staff went above and beyond and made sure we had both eaten some canapés and had enough to drink, they carefully moved all our belongings into the Dovecot and presented the room so nicely ready for when we returned after the evening had finished. They made sure that some of our wedding cake was saved for us and we had that when we returned which was so lovely.
They really do have a keen eye for personal touches and fine details!

We feel so incredibly lucky to have had our wedding day at Apton, it truly is something so special and we couldn’t recommend it enough. We have loved every experience shared with and at Apton and feel so sad that our wedding day is over but we have some wonderful memories that will last a lifetime time, all thanks to them.

What can I say.. we got married at the lovely Apton Hall on Friday 5th September and it was truly the most amazing day. Hayley, Emma, Josh and the team went above and beyond to make our day special from the minute we booked to the morning we left as husband and wife. The day ran smoothly (maybe not for them!) and nothing was to much trouble. There were last minute changes to the table arrangements due to some of the guests being unable to attend which meant reorganising the dining room set up on the day but Emma was on it with a smile and reassurance it would be sorted before guests arrived, and it was 😊. The vibe from the staff we interacted with was friendly and chilled but professional, just what we wanted.
They all work so hard around the clock to keep the grounds clean and tidy, and guests happy, from the man hoovering up the confetti from the night before who greeted us with a smile and hello when we arrived, to the young lady offering a guest (hunting for a midnight snack) the left over bacon rolls from our evening 😂.
The grounds and rooms are beautiful and well maintained, so many of our guests have commented how lovely a venue it is and those who stayed, how beautiful their rooms were.
The food was delicious and we’ll definitely be attending other events in the future such as valentines dinner so we can dine there again.
We didn’t get to meet the whole crew but from the bottom of our hearts we thank you all so much for making our day so special and one we will treasure forever x

Apton Hall were incredibly supportive throughout the booking process and all the way through organising our wedding. They were open about their pricing and very clear without the hidden extras that can sometimes be found in wedding venues. It was fully customisable enabling us to have complete control over the amount we wanted to spend.

We had some slightly unusual requests for our wedding one of which they had accommodated for previous couples and one which was new. We wanted to have an all vegan wedding, which they assured us (correctly) that they knew they could do well having had previous success, and we wanted to be able to enter the ceremony room simultaneously walking towards each other and stepping towards the registrar table and into our new life side by side. They were excited to do something new with the ceremony room though needed to see exactly how they could make it work. They trialled a few different layouts allowing us to choose the one that we thought would work best for us. We were able to enter through different doors in a wonderful personalisation of our wedding. Please see the photos attached for the change in layout.

The food was truly delicious! Everyone was thoroughly impressed - even those who had been hesitant about a vegan BBQ. Furthermore, the staff were wonderfully helpful on the day as well as in the run up, ensuring that everything ran smoothly and as planned.

All of this positivity and we haven't even touched on how beautiful the actual setting and buildings are. Ourselves and our guests had access to the courtyard, the pond garden, the snug bar, the main bar/dance floor and the dining room almost throughout the day (obviously the dining room was only accessible once they guests were called in for the dinner service). Additionally, we were able to access the rose garden, the front lawn and the neighbouring crop field for some beautiful photos and some quieter moments.

Once we retired to our rooms, we found that not only had they delivered the midnight snacks and drinks we ordered in abundance but they had also placed a congratulations card on the bed as well as a sprinkling of rose petals. However, it became even more perfect when we noticed the little touches for instance they had changed the bedside coasters so that we had two Mrs coasters rather than Mr and Mrs which insured that we felt seen and supported perfectly avoiding the potential for jarring heteronormativity on our big day.

The only area for potential improvement is providing a more family friendly sleeping option in the guest rooms. They were unable to provide additional beds for children in rooms however they were completely open about this when we booked, and gave us plenty of time for our family to arrange additional travel beds to bring with them. Being the only area for improvement that we can think of from such an important day is impressive and a testament to their attention to detail and genuine love for what they do.

We had our wedding at Apton Hall on 11.08.2025. When searching for our wedding venue, myself and my (now husband) knew we wanted a barn venue. Essex has many wonderful barn venues but Apton Hall immediately stood out to us. The venue itself is beautiful, modern yet still has that lovely rustic charm which we were looking for! The venue feels intimate and cosy which was perfect for us. We had our ceremony outside in the courtyard area which was a dream come true - a truly beautiful setting to marry. The grounds themselves are beautiful with many spaces for photo opportunities. Having rooms available on site is also incredibly handy especially for guests who were travelling a long way to celebrate with us. During the lead up to the wedding, the staff communicated often with myself and my husband. They answered all of our queries and were always on hand to offer advice and suggest suppliers for our big day. As part of our package, we were invited to a taster evening to sample the delicious food - this was a really thoughtful touch and enabled us to try a variety of the food which Apton Hall offers. We'd like to personally thank Hayley who was incredible - she was always on hand to answer any questions, she was professional and assured us that our day would be exactly as we dreamed. On the day of the wedding, it ran so smoothly. The staff go above and beyond to make sure the day runs like clockwork. I felt completely at ease throughout the day, due to efforts of all the staff - I didn't need to worry about anything as I knew we were in good hands. All our of decorative items were presented beautifully and the tables for our wedding breakfast looked better than we could ever have imagined. The food was amazing with many guests commenting on how delicious the food was - the canapes in particular! The staff work incredibly hard and always have a smile on their faces - nothing is too much! Everyone we spoke to and interacted with was friendly and professional, including the bar staff, waiting staff and housekeeping staff. Rebecca who looked after us on the morning of the wedding was fantastic, she was such a calming influence and ensured everything was in place for the morning - she even requested additional pastries for me whilst I was having a wobble when getting ready. It truly was the most wonderful day and we are grateful to have celebrated our special day in such a fantastic venue. We wish we could relive our day and would love the opportunity to come back and experience the venue all over again. Thank you Apton Hall for making our day the best day of our lives!

Apton Hall were amazing throughout our whole wedding experience, we are so happy we picked them as our venue!
Ever since we first stepped in to the venue we knew it was perfect for us. All the staff were so welcoming and it felt like we really belonged there. Hayley was our main contact throughout our planning process, she was always so quick to respond and very helpful with all our questions.
The events leading up to our wedding were also fabulous! We attended 2 valentines dinners which were impeccable and a tasting dinner with our family. All of these were faultless and the food absolutely outstanding.
The wedding day went without a fault, the team were all super helpful and made sure our day was seamless and perfect.
We honestly cannot recommend Apton Hall enough, the venue itself is perfect and super accessible, the staff are outstanding and they make you feel so welcome.
Thank you so much to all at Apton Hall for our amazing wedding, we can’t wait to come back for some events in the future!

It was a lovely day from start to finish except we wished Apton Hall had air conditioning in the dining room as yes you can open the doors but then we had wasps coming in and unfortunately due to this my grandson got stung near his eye! So I would suggest putting in air conditioning for this reason. Also there was a little miscommunication with some of the staff in relation to the bar tab. Also It would have been nice if we didn’t feel rushed out in the morning felt like we were on a conveyor belt one wedding in one wedding out, as we had a staff member (whilst eating our breakfast may I add) that she informed us our items to be picked up and we to be out by 10am and a bar tab to pay, which we had been told many times that week. In the early hours at 7.30am we were disturbed by 2 cars of ladies dropping off their hair/make up etc and chatting quite loudly outside the bedrooms that were occupied, (we were told , this should be done round the back entrance) obviously these ladies for the next wedding ignored that request. Due to this being such a lovely venue and friendly staff and a fantastic day, I just felt these issues should be addressed for future weddings.

If you are thinking of having your wedding (or any event) at Apton Hall, I am here to tell you that you should absolutely do it!
For starters it is the most beautiful venue - having viewed other venues, me and my partner were dubious at first but fell in love as soon as we saw it and knew that it was perfect for us.

Secondly, the entire team looked after us from start to finish, continually going above and beyond to make sure that we were calm, cool and collected on our special day.

We have also had rave reviews from all of our guests about the food - one guest said she will be dreaming of the Pork Bon Bons for a while!

If we had to do it all over again, we would choose Apton Hall again, no questions asked.

We fell in love with Apton Hall as soon as we visited, nothing compared and we knew it was were we needed our wedding.
From the start they were amazing. They are so responsive, replying to emails and questions even late at night and at weekends.
They were so accommodating with anything we wanted to change or do.
Every single guest commented how amazing the food and venue was.
On the day I was feeling poorly due to nerves and they went out their way to make sure I was ok and helped with anything they could.
Even making sure we had cake and food in our room at the end of the night.
We honestly could not have asked for a better, more beautiful venue and our day was perfect.

We had our wedding day at Apton Hall on 06/06/25 and wow what a perfect day we had!
Everything about it was truly amazing!
We loved the venue the moment we set eyes on it on one of the open evenings and after viewing several other venues we instantly knew this was where we wanted to get married. We only had just over 6months to organise our big day but that didn't matter when there is a team like Apton Hall have to help you.
Hayley was our wedding planner and she was fantastic from start to finish, she helped us out every step of the way, nothing was too much trouble, she made lots of helpful suggestions and was always there if ever we had any questions or needed to make any changes. She helped ensure our day went exactly as we wanted it too.
Rebecca was there to help us on the day and she couldn't of done enough for us, we literally didn't have to worry about a thing as she was there to help organise every step of the way along with Abby. People kept commenting on how chilled I was that morning as the bride, but there is no need to be stressed when all the stress has been taken away and everything is being organised for you!
So many of our guests commented on how nice the venue is and we couldn't agree more! The other comment we had a lot was how nice the food was, everybody said they really enjoyed their meal and the evening food, we also had the mixologist who made he most delicious cocktails whilst entertaining our guests.
We were so sad when the evening ended we just didn't want the party to stop, which says it all really! Best day ever!
We were also surprised to see Josh was still there at the very end of the night, which shows that the staff truly see your wedding day all the way through.
All the staff are professional and helpful, whether its having involvement in organising the day, being behind the scenes, waiting the tables or bar staff, even the gardening and cleaning, everyone works so hard to ensure wedding days run smoothly and the venue looks amazing.
We literally have nothing bad to say, we had the best day ever and are so thankful to Apton Hall and all the staff for helping us have the wedding day we dreamed of!
We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this venue and if you are thinking of booking, you won't regret it!

Our journey started when we went to view Apton Hall in October 2024. We met with Lauren who was absolutely fantastic, giving us a tour of this amazing venue and taking us through everything. We were so impressed and instantly fell in love with the place. Our wedding took place on Saturday 7th June 2025 and we can honestly say it was the best day of our lives. Every single one of our guests commented on how stunning the venue and grounds were along with how fantastic the staff, food and everything in between was. Our experience was 10 out of 10 and if we could do it all over again we would 100% choose Apton Hall without hesitation. Thank you so much to Emma and the team for making our day unforgettable xx

We got married almost a year ago now and we still couldn’t be more grateful for Apton Hall for everything they done. The staff, the venue, the recommended suppliers were just beyond perfect!

The venue itself is just absolutely beautiful and everything we wanted. From the fairy lights around the stunning wooden beams, to the decor in the bridal suite & guest rooms. It was literally perfect!

The food was delicious catering to all of our needs and requirements. We had the bbq and it was the perfect relaxed/chilled out ‘vibe’ we were going for. So many of our guests commented on our great choice of venue, and how it’s the best wedding and venue they’d been to.

Hayley and Lauren were amazing when we were planning and visiting the venue. No email was silly or annoying, they were both so helpful and kind.
They even let our dogs arrive for some photos after the ceremony which was the perfect little touch for us!!
