Just 15 minutes from Braintree, in a stunning, secluded nature-filled lakeside space, Barnfields specialises in relaxed tipi festival-style weddings that you can really put your mark on. Beautiful, natural, and slightly wild - it's surrounded by meadows, wildlife and woodland on a small farm. Run by the family who have lived at the farm for over 65 years, it really is a hidden gem, a beautiful 'blank canvas' venue that allows you to design your unique day your way.

Friendly and organised, the owners will do everything they can to help you make your day the one you have been dreaming of, and have built relationships with a really great group of suppliers to help with this.

Start with a woodland ceremony, move to the lakeside for drinks, amazing pictures and food, then party the night away under the stars in the tipis, with a fire pit to sit by when your feet get sore!

One venue, with two options available for your big day:

• The lakeside space for tipis or stretch tents for up to 120 - or -
• New for 2026 - a converted barn overlooking the lake with space for up to 60 - perfect for smaller celebrations

Hire is either on a dry hire basis, or with a package.

The venue is available for just a small number of weddings each year at weekends (Fridays or Saturdays), with a maximum of one wedding or event each week (there will never be two weddings across the two venue options on the same day). Hire includes exclusive access the day before your wedding and until 2 pm the day after. The space is a good distance from any house and offers loads of opportunities for you to be creative about how you use it.
