5 stars all round for this INCREDIBLE venue! We had our wedding here and I cannot shout loud enough, just how amazing the team are. Taz & her team were relentless and so attentive the night of the wedding and provided fantastic service! Rebecca helped coordinate the BEST day and was so laid back and relaxed and helped us have the wedding day we dreamed of! The venue itself is just out of this world! Considering it’s on our doorstep, hardly anyone knew about it and all were amazed at just how stunning it is! I can’t wait to come back for other events the venue run! Accommodation was also fantastic. Our family stayed here the night of the wedding and could not fault it one bit. Clean, tidy and a lovely home from home! Thank you so so much from everyone at Great Lodge!!!

The Reid Rooms was the first venue that we visited and we immediately loved it, even having only seen it in the rain. We truly had the most wonderful experience at the Reid Rooms - the venue had so much character and beautiful spaces to use at various points during the day, especially the garden and courtyard area. We had an intimate wedding with 50 guests, which felt very comfortable in the space. The staff were spectacular and attentive from the very first meeting - responses were always quick and thorough, the service on the day was seamless and our wedding co-ordinator was extremely helpful. They have a caterer that they work with, but we opted for completely dry hire. Organising hire of crockery and linen was easy using a company that often work with the Reid Rooms. We were able to bring in our own caterer and sound system. We arrived early on the day to set up and decorate the venue. We also stayed overnight in the farmhouse and had a wonderful breakfast with some of our guests the next day. It was a truly incredible day and we had so many compliments on the venue too! Thank you!

Don't hesitate to book your wedding at this charming venue, complete with two of the most attentive, passionate and brilliant people we have ever met. Carol and Nic went so far beyond what we had hoped for, they now feel like family. From helping us reschedule our wedding FOUR TIMES (thanks covid!) to creating beautiful decorations, magical moments of fun and a wicked entrance as Mr and Mrs Woosey, nothing was too much trouble. You are booking so much more than a venue at Alpheton, trust us. If you want something truly special, run by a family team who will work tirelessly to create what you dreamed of, these are your guys. The morning after the day/night before our daughters wedding... Where do I start.... Villiers Barn is such an amazing venue, idealic and picturesque. Juliet & Jonathan Day were wonderful hosts, from pre wedding planning right through to the end of the night. The rest of the team were all so friendly, approachable and nothing was too much trouble.. so attentive and fabulous. The Wedding breakfast was super, real fresh and local produce.. the sausages and chicken were my favourite and the chocolate brownie dessert was so lovely. Would totally recommend to anyone planning their special day.. thank you Juliet & Jonathan for EVERYTHING.. stunning, super and ultra special. X

We could not have asked for a better venue for our wedding - it’s beautiful & classic, so didn’t require too much decoration, but would suit various tastes. Layout is great for keeping guests mingling but also providing different areas so that some can party whilst others have a more quiet chat. Plenty of space, so our younger guests could explore and play. The bridal suite is gorgeous and was a perfect location for us girls to get ready in the morning. The accommodation on site was ideal for our guests who had travelled further to be there. Food was incredible. We were also able to have an external company come and provide ice cream, so the venue were flexible in this regard. Staff were really friendly, couldn’t have been more helpful and made the whole process of coordinating the day’s events as easy as possible. Just wish we could do it all again! We found the cost excellent value but we did receive an introductory discount as we booked our wedding before the venue opened.

We cannot recommend East Mersea Hall highly enough as a wedding venue. The grounds are stunning, with a great balance between spaciousness and cosiness. Kirsty, the Wedding and Events Manager, is relentlessly supportive and highly knowledgeable about everything weddings. This was a huge help to us as we didn't know where to start! During the pandemic, Kirsty has been super understanding and has allowed us to postpone on two occasions with no hassles at all. She is amazing!
