I’m not sure where to begin! From start to finish, the staff at The Lion were amazing. Everyone who we came into contact with was so helpful and thorough - Ashton was just so personable and helpful, she always responded promptly to my endless questions in the most helpful way possible. Nothing was too much for her - she thought about all the little details that I hadn’t! It didn’t feel like they have weddings on a weekly basis - we felt special and like everyone wanted us to have the best day. From little things like storing my flowers in the cellar, to bringing our breakfast up to the room on the morning of the wedding - to moving all of our many belongings to another room - which were everywhere because we ran out of time; nothing was too much! The little things mean a lot! The guys on the day who welcomed our Irish family - we all have so many lovely things to say. Even running over by more than an hour, there were smiles ‘and don’t worry’ comments, which puts you at ease. The day was perfect and just as we wished for it to be - and more….we can’t thank you enough! Chloe and Stuart

I honestly have no complaints, Oana and Emma were absolutely fantastic from the beginning to the end. I would recommend using this venue to anyone who is looking for quality service, professionalism, great value for money and simply ease during the wedding process. I would do it all again with them!!!

Perfect venue for our wedding. So helpful, friendly and just perfect! We dry hired and i had heard themat venues arent as helpful when you dry hire but holiday inn was super helpful. All the way from planning to after the wedding! The grounds are beautiful and the weather was glorious for our outdoor ceremony and we had the best wedding reception in the Elizabeth suite and we used the lakeside suite as a childrens room and hired an entertainer. Most of our guests spent the entire weekend there. The kitchen staff at breakfast were so lovely, she even held the kitchen open for an extra 5 minutes for us the morning after the ceremony so that we could all enjoy breakfast. I'm really pleased we chose this venue.

Gary, Soo and all of the team managed our celebration in a professional and friendly manner. They catered for 40 guests very efficiently. The 3 course meal was beyond expectations, with all guests enjoying the meal. This is the second major celebration the Bull Hotel has organised for us, and we can't wait for the 3rd! The Bull is a beautiful building which makes a magical setting for celebrations. Thank you very much for making our wedding vow renewal a very special occassion

Amazing day yesterday thankyou to all the staff at the westcliff hotel. Especially kim for helping make our wedding day so magical . No job was too big! also a big thankyou to emily ,thankyou for the outstanding effort u gave in to making the room look spectacular and being so helpfull throughout the meal. The day was perfect and we could not have hoped for better! Sue and everyone in your team went above and beyond and everyone complimented the hotel and the food We honestly cannot thank you enough for everything you did in the run up and to sue for the effort she put in on the day

We had our wedding here this week and it was arranged excellently and exactly how we wanted it. The staff were wonderful and made sure we and our guests were well looked after. We stayed for two nights afterwards the room was just as we would expect it to be very comfortable and ideal for what we wanted

Just wanted to say thank you from me and Roy to all the team at Maison Talbooth for making it a truly special birthday weekend – from arriving Friday afternoon to sadly leaving Sunday morning everything was great, the welcome, the rooms, the pool the food, the service throughout was exemplary. Dinner at Le Talbooth on Friday night was spectacular, again great location, great service, great food the perfect start to our weekend of celebrations. I have posted something suitably glowing on Trip Advisor, I too work in hospitality and know how hard the team have to work to provide that seemingly effortless anticipatory service, please pass our thanks on to all concerned. We have received a number of thank notes from our friends and family who attended they have all mentioned the great hotel and team, I am sure you will be seeing some of them again in the future and you will certainly see us again.

My husband and I got married at Wivenhoe House on 5th July 2014 and we had an amazing day. I would thoroughly recommend Wivenhoe House as a wedding venue as all the staff were so helpful and went out of their way to make sure that everyone was having a great time. Charley and her events team were always available to assist when we were planning our big day too. The venue is so beautiful and the accommodation with all the different sponsored suites is fantastic. We had a lovely meal on the day and were able to attend a food tasting session beforehand to decide on our food choices. The wedding buffet in the evening seemed to be an endless supply to keep all of our guests well fed! This venue has it all, and is in such a beautiful setting with great photo opportunities in the gardens and by the lake. You would have an amazing wedding day here. Michaela & Alex Salvaris

Libby & Aileen and the team were brilliant, making us feel comfortable and like we were important and that everyone else was just as excited as we were for the big day. The majority of our friends and family stayed at the hotel with us and having the hotel so close to the A12 was fantastic for those travelling longer distances to get there. All of the bedrooms are lovely, especially the bridal suite! The bridal suite is so unique, If you get the chance, have a look!!! Every room is so clean and well looked after. The day of the wedding, I thought it was going to be a major panic, but I was wrong! The receptionist sent my hairdresser and make up artist up for me, and food and drink later when we were hungry. One of my bridesmaids had a dress emergency...receptionist sorted it with a few safety pins! I heard one of the housekeepers even helped the men with getting their flowers onto their jackets!! Typical man didn't get her name, so thank you housekeeper! Aileen & Libby were great on the day, getting me to the ceremony. The rest of the night went so smoothly, and the food was fantastic, I got so many comments from our guests saying how lovely the food was. Even the buffet later in the evening was impressive! The staff throughout the evening made a real noticeable effort to keep the place clean and tidy, even the toilets were looked after despite there being 120 of us! Overall it was a fantastic experience, really made special by the staff! This place is a must, when looking at your possible venues. Thank you all again for all your hard work and effort put into making our day so so special!
