The Reid Rooms is a picturesque wedding venue located in the Essex countryside near Great Dunmow, England. Couples can immerse themselves in the charm and beauty of their surroundings as they celebrate their big day at this venue.
Facilities and Capacity
As you enter the grounds of The Reid Rooms, you'll make your way down an impressive tree-lined driveway to reach the venue. The grounds are home to a range of converted barns arranged around a charming courtyard. The rustic, beamed Ceremony Room and the outside Meadow Pavilion and Garden Pavilion are all licensed for civil ceremonies and available depending on the season. The venue welcomes gatherings of all sizes, from intimate get-togethers to receptions with up to 200 guests. Wedding breakfasts, meanwhile, can have up to 150 attendees. Those dreaming of a festival-style wedding are invited to rent out a field and transform it into their dream space. This property is an exclusive-use venue, offering you privacy on your special day. Accommodation is offered in a moated farmhouse on-site, perfect for a restful night after a long day.
Services Offered
Outside vendors and catering companies are welcomed at The Reid Rooms. Couples can also provide their own alcohol for the day with no corkage charge, perfect for those with favourite brands and specific tastes. The team runs a fully staffed bar for your evening reception to help the festivities run smoothly. Beautiful Venue
We had a wonderful wedding day at The Reid Rooms. All of our guests commented on how lovely the venue was and it had so many pretty areas for photos. In particular the farmhouse for our guests staying over night was a hit.
The team were so friendly and helpful, especially Corinne who was so responsive to our questions, and Stephanie who kept everything running smoothly on the day.
We'd definitely recommend The Reid Rooms to anyone looking for a flexible venue for their special day.

Wonderful Venue for a Wedding
We couldn't have asked for a better venue for our wedding than the Reid Rooms.
It's such a beautiful and quiet venue that you can't help feel calm and relaxed as soon as you walk onto the property which even our guests commented on. It has such a homey atmosphere to the place which makes you feel instantly comfortable and the courtyard is an absolutely stunning place for photos with its 'New Orleans-esque' balcony and water fountain.
All of the staff are super friendly and they make you feel like your wedding day is as important to them as it is to you. Lucy, our wedding coordinator, was so helpful and put us completely at ease that we could have the wedding we wanted within our budget as there was so much flexibility with what we could do.
The farmhouse is cosy and welcoming to stay in after an amazing / chaotic day; it felt like we were on holiday! Having breakfast with the family the next day really made those last moments at the venue special.

Absolutely amazing
From the first viewing we had to the day after the wedding, it has been amazing. Had so many questions and Corrine was very patient with me. At the rehearsal & on the day Lucy was outstanding!! The service, venue, people, atmosphere & accommodation was just amazing!!
Thank you all so much!! I would definitely recommend this place. The first venue we viewed and we fell in love and booked our special day. It was ment to be!! ❤️❤️❤️

We couldn’t have been happier with our wedding breakfast and reception at the Reid rooms on the 31st January. It was the first, and only venue we looked at, we loved it immediately and we booked a date in at the end of our first viewing! It’s a stunning venue, lovely grounds and covered with fairy lights, as well as cosy elements like the lounge and fireplace which was perfect for our winter wedding. The staff were brilliant from day one too, the venue is great, as its super flexible when it comes to using your own suppliers, and Claire, our co-ordinator was fantastic at the rehearsal and on the day ensuring everything went smoothly, she was everywhere!

We had our wedding at the Reid Rooms on 16.02.25 and used the house on the premises.
The team at the Reid Rooms were so responsive and always very helpful. Steph was available on the day of the wedding and she was fantastic. She was so kind and trying to keep me relaxed!

Would highly recommend the Reid Rooms, they were fantastic from the first contact to the last email ,the venue was perfect for us, the flexibility of the different areas worked very well for our wedding with different generations attending, and having the house was so lovely to get all my family together, before and after the wedding, Sue the house keeper looked after us in the house and gave us a fantastic breakfast the next day, and special mention to Stephanie who couldn't do enough for us on the day

amazing team and venue!
we can't recommend Reid rooms enough! we wanted a venue we could completely make our own, and Corinne helped us do that right from the start.
All staff were amazing and friendly, the farmhouse was beautiful and the ceremony room was perfect.
They even sourced vegan tequila rose and baileys for us!

Stunning venue
Corrine and Lucy truly are brilliant at what they do! Everything was perfect, nothing was too much of an ask. Extremely wonderful ladies, Corrine was brilliant with all the planning, Lucy was our co ordinator on the day and everything went so smoothly. We were so at ease and had the most magical day. Really enjoyed being at the Reid Rooms from the first visit I fell in love with it. 20 of us stayed in the farmhouse the evening of the wedding and had a cooked breakfast in the morning, cereal, fruit, yogurts and a full English with tea coffee and juices was the perfect finish to our wedding. Bar staff were equally lovely and very quick and friendly. Would 100% recommend!

Wedding October 2024
We had such a wedding at The Reid Rooms and stay at the Farmhouse. being able to stay at the Farmhouse next to the wedding beforehand to prepare our own made decorations was a life saver. The flexibility to choose what we can use and bring to the venue but also their greatly recommended list of wedding vendors was brilliant. It was just the right size for our 35 day guests and 70 evening guests.

Perfect venue
From the moment we stepped foot into the Reid Rooms we knew it was the venue for us and every time we went to visit, it kept getting better and better. Such a picture perfect venue for an autumnal wedding with the twinkling fairy lights and log burner.
Corine and the team have been so lovely and helpful and always very quick to respond to emails and questions. Lucy our co-ordinator was an absolute gem, from our rehearsal to our wedding, she made the day run smooth, helped with nerves and I can't thank her enough for that.

The Autumnal Wedding of Our Dreams 🍂
When we first came to see The Reid Rooms, we knew the second we left that it was the venue for us.
We fell in love with the simplicity and beauty and that it needed little decoration because it already had everything it needed to feel warm and welcoming.
Leading up to our wedding day, we communicated with Corrine and Angie who were both brilliant and used their years of knowledge by helping us with anything we needed and even offering their own advice from their experiences from previous weddings.
On the day, we didn't have to think about anything other than making amazing memories with our family and friends because Angie made sure that everything ran smoothly.
My husband and I were married on 3rd October 2024, and the venue at that time of year was breathtaking with the autumnal colours throughout the trees and greenery. This made it easy to get all of the stunning pictures we were able to capture with this as our backdrop.
In the evening we had two lovely girls behind the bar and when the night quietened and the evening guests had left us, we're still helping us have the most amazing time. They are a credit to the venue.
Overall we had the most magical day and all of our family and friends complimented the venue and grounds for it's beauty and the staff for their professionalism and kindness.
I would do it all again in a heartbeat and I would always come back to The Reid Rooms.

Wonderful venue!!
The reid rooms is a perfect spot for a wedding.
We loved it on the first viewing, and it got even better when went to view in the evening.
The staff are amazing. Our wedding coordinator went above and beyond on the day, even helping to keep some of the children entertained whilst we were getting ready and when we were doing photos.
Amazing communication from the first email to the last. Anything we wanted to know or ask was answered quickly.

Fantastic venue for a wedding
We got married on the 29th July at the Reid rooms, it was an absolutely amazing day. From when we met Lucy the wedding organiser at the rehearsal everything went so smoothly. She was so helpful and everyone at the venue was amazing. We could not have had a better day. In the morning we had a fantastic cooked breakfast. Would highly recommend the Reid rooms for a wedding venue.
