Villiers Barn

This venue really is exceptional as the title suggests.

Having been engaged for over 10 years and been to many weddings ourselves, my new wife and I decided it was time we tied the knot and it all started when my now wife worked at the venue on behalf of another bride, telling me “You’ve got to see this venue”. We booked a viewing and a week later we had secured our date. Villiers barn was the only venue we viewed and we instantly knew this was going to be ‘our’ wedding venue.

The Day family are such a wonderful and beautiful team, with Jonathan being the face of the operation, do not underestimate the attention to detail and how kind caring his sister and parents are… Juliette is a real diamond of a mum and an integral part of the business and really makes you feel part of the ‘Villiers family’ whenever you see her.

We booked two years in advance and Jonathan was there with us every step of the way. Nothing was ever too much to ask and he was always so understanding and professional with his advice and help. We had his telephone number and email address and asked many questions, that were always answered promptly and professionally.

As for the wedding day itself… WOW! We were simply blown away and made to feel like royalty. Jonathan and the staff at the venue were exceptional throughout.

The bridal preparation room and venue was available from 8:30am to begin getting ready and dressing the tables leaving plenty of time to make sure everything was perfectly put together. There’s plenty of room in the bridal preparation room and even with most of my wives family and friends in there it never felt a squeeze.

Jonathan acted as our host for the day and he often checked in on us, made sure we were well stocked with food and drink, even giving us our own waiter during the drinks reception with our own grazing board of canapés. We honestly never had to ask for anything, as he was on top of every single thing you could think of.

Despite the hot weather, the ceremony room was cool and airy and didn’t feel cramped or like there was too much empty space in the room. We had a singer rather than music and she was able to be in a place where her voice could be heard by all, but not in the way of the photographer.

The music playing throughout the venue on the speakers was always at the right volume and was far more than adequate for the space.

The food was outstanding! From the canapés, to the BBQ main meal, which was cooked using top quality, locally sourced, fresh meats, to the evening food that was served, was beautifully prepared and perfectly cooked. The BBQ did not leave me feeling hugely stuffed or bloated, but left us and our guests completely satisfied afterwards. The desert (brownie and ice cream) was to die for!

As for the evening, it got pretty lively and this was never an issue for Jonathan and the Villiers team. The bar was never overrun, nor overly expensive and the rarely seen NOAM beers were a beer that was popular and enjoyed by many and again, the food, which was the mixed baps and cheese on toast, was delicious and served precisely on time!

We also stayed in the lake lodge on the night of the wedding and what a beautiful setting this is to see in your first night as a married couple. The lodge is warm & cozy and fairly sound proof. Waking up, opening the curtains and enjoying the continental breakfast was the perfect start to married life and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone getting married there. The bed is SO comfortable!

Our advice to anyone considering booking your wedding at this venue, do not hesitate. Go and meet Jonathan and the rest of his family and you’ll get a feeling that is unrivaled at any other wedding venue.

Most wedding venues are about the money, whereas this venue is completely about the experience.

If we could do it again tomorrow, we’d book Villiers Barn in a heartbeat.

Our photographer was Dale Zimmerman who is recommended by the venue and again, we couldn’t recommend him highly enough! His prices were great and we had such a laugh throughout the day with Dale’s completely laid back style of photography. We also had ‘contentbykerrie’ (instagram) as a content creator. Her and Dale worked perfectly together and were a perfect combination of getting the photos and clips we wanted, together with them using their experience as wedding photographers to get the pictures they knew would really help us to remember the beauty of our wedding and the location.

Wow. Where to begin?

Villiers Barn is nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we first visited, we fell completely in love with it. We had other viewings booked afterwards, but nothing else came close. Villiers was the benchmark that no other venue compared to and what stood out to us and our families is how special the team make you feel. We never felt like just another couple – instead like a member of their family from the start.

The barn itself is spectacular – the care and attention to detail in the renovation of the barn shines through and the love and passion of the whole team encompasses the entire space, including the bridal suite which was the perfect place to start the day. We were lucky enough to get married outside and it was simply breathtaking. We spent our whole wedding day in a bit of a haze that our special day was being held somewhere so beautiful.

Now onto the team who really do take this venue to a whole new level. Jonathan, Juliet and the team were outstanding from the start. I had some unexpected health news 6 months post booking that resulted in us needing to push back our wedding date. When I called Jonathan in a rather shocked and emotional state of mind, he was so kind and caring and him and Juliet went above and beyond to help us.

In the lead up to our wedding, Jonathan was just amazing – so patient with our endless questions and so organised and efficient. Wedding planning can feel daunting and never ending but we had no doubt that our wedding day would go smoothly with such an amazing team in charge.

The day was perfect – Jonathan really did plan every detail and timing with us, which meant that the day went by so smoothly and stress free. We had a blast and our guests have not stopped talking about what an amazing gem of a venue it is.

Waking up the next morning in the gorgeous honeymoon lodge is a memory we will treasure forever.

Thank you Jonathan, Juliet, Ellen, Becki and the entire Villiers team, for giving us the most magical wedding day we could have wished for.

The food, the staff, the venue, everything is just bloomin perfect, the flow of the venue in particular really made the day just seamless from start to finish, it really was the best day of our lives!

I honestly cannot go into words how amazing the staff and venue were! Nothing was too big or too small for them. Honestly went above and beyond anything we could have ever imagined.

The staff treat you as if you were family, and honestly I cannot thank them enough for making our day the best day ever.

Our perfect venue!!
We didn’t need to look any further than Villiers Barn!! It was the first venue we viewed and we cancelled all viewings that followed!
We were warmly greeted by Juliet at our viewing with 2 excitable children in tow, she made us feel at ease and allowed them to release some energy while she talked us through the venue and gave us the tour.
We left with a thoroughly broken down quote that was easy to understand and follow (which I loved, a detail that I found incredibly useful and could tell they wanted to make things as easy as possible for newly engaged couples) they were upfront with the pricing and made it SIMPLE!
We didn’t even need to debate it after, we immediately requested a date and couldn’t wait to secure our booking!!
Leading up to the day the communication was great, we had our final meeting with Rebecca and she reassured us that we were in incredibly safe hands.
We delivered our decor and, again, Rebecca assured me that she had it all in hand and understood my vision.
They cover everything, they understand their couples and they are enthusiastic in ensuring they deliver.
All our guests complimented the venue and were in awe of the grounds, but most importantly, everyone was thrilled with the food and service. Everyone who we have spoken to has commented on the fact that the food was sublime, from the canapés through to the evening hot served food!!
If you are looking for a picturesque, beautiful, barn venue then Villiers is aesthetically perfect, BUT if you want the addition of a team of genuinely lovely people who will look after you and ensure your day runs smoothly, then definitely look no further. It was everything we’d hoped for and more!

Villiers Barn is an exceptional wedding venue. The venue itself is beautiful, with gorgeous outside green spaces and lake, to the courtyard and stunning barn. We had viewed a few wedding venues before visiting Villiers, but once we visited here we knew this was the one. The Day family care so much about the venue and this was reflected in our experience. They are all so attentive, warm, friendly people, and this is something that really made the difference for us. From Rebecca and Juliet showing us around to Jonathan and Ellen who were so efficient and attentive with the lead up to the wedding and all the details. On the day the service was impeccable. It flowed beautifully and guests complimented all day how brilliant the staff were and Jonathan who was coordinating. Jonathan checked in with us all day and was always on hand to help and ensure everything was how we wanted it to be - he was honestly great. The guests loved the food too, particularly the lamb, eton mess and the stone baked pizzas. Thank you so much again, we had the most special day xx

We had the most amazing wedding day and it would not have been possible without the wonderful staff of Villiers Barn. From our first communication to our last dance and packing gifts into the car, every single staff member was so caring, attentive to our needs, professional and made our day so relaxed and fun. The venue and ground are spotlessly clean and just stunning, it literally takes your breath away. And the food is outstanding, we had the bbq option and every guest said it was the best bbq they had ever tasted! Special mention to the Chef!!
Lastly being able to have sunset pictures in the farmers fields was just the icing on the cake! Special thanks to Jonathan,Becky and Juliet for everything you do!!

The Day family are all wonderful and nothing in the lead up to our day and on the day itself was too much. The regular check ins to make sure we were all ok throughout the day kept us as calm as possible on what we can only describe as THE BEST DAY EVER!
We could not be more thankful to the Villiers team and their beautiful venue for everything they have done for us and if we could, we would do it all again in a heartbeat with Villiers always being our place!!

Well what can I say but WOW!!

The whole day at Villiers barn was absolutely amazing, getting married outside, canapés and cocktails, the food was the best we’ve ever had at a wedding, that was what our guests said, and they were right it was exceptional.

Dealing with Barry, Jeanette, Rebecca and Jonathan was a pleasure from start to finish. Nothing was too much trouble, we were treated like family and made to feel incredibly special.

There was never a queue to get a drink there were more than enough staff to keep everyone served, the evening buffet was truly amazing and is still spoken about when we meet up with guests.

I cannot recommend this venue highly enough, it is exceptional, and we would not change a thing about our day.

The team truly are the most wonderful people.

If you are not sure where to book, make this your choice you will not be disappointed.

When we viewed Villiers Barn back in 2024 we were blown away. An absolutely beautiful venue with so much character, we knew this was where we wanted to get married. Jonathan was absolutely fantastic throughout the entire process. His communication and organisation were second to none.
June 18th was the best day of our lives. All of our friends and family told us us how beautiful the venue was and how brilliant Jonathan and his colleagues were on the day. Making sure we were all looked after & had everything we needed. Becky was wonderful & checked in with us in the on the morning of the wedding in the bridal suite. She got us everything we needed and completely calmed my nerves.
The food was incredible. We had canapés, a 3 course meal & evening food. All of our vegetarians & guests with dietary requirements were looked after throughout the day putting my mind at ease. Jonathan checked in with our photographer, DJ, & sweet graze caterers. Everything ran so smoothly letting Glenn & I enjoy our day with family and friends.
I honestly cannot fault Villiers Barn. We had the time of our lives and wish we could do it all over again. Thank you SO much to Jonathan, Becky, Ellen and the whole team. You were all incredible.
