Wander through manicured lawns and take in waterfront beauty under rainbow skies, or maybe relax in a restored mill that radiates tranquility, whatever meets your needs for your celebration.

Make it Your Own

Everyone wants their wedding to stand out from the rest, to reflect theirs and their sweetheart’s style. There are many ways to achieve this on the big day, some slightly more tricky than others. A relatively simple one is through venue design. Setup and layout are the first steps: round tables or rectangular? Banquet seating or groups? You get this gist, a room can be easily transformed just by how you furnish it. Going a step further, look into floral decor. Audley's wood was the perfect venue for us! Having all aspects of the wedding in one place and rooms available for our guests meant it was the complete package. The entire team were accommodating, friendly and had smiles on their faces the whole day. They created a welcoming and warm atmosphere that all our guests commented on. The food was delicious and many guests commented on the quality of the food being some of the best they had, had at any wedding. Roxanne, our coordinator, was simply amazing. She never stopped smiling and always checked in to ensure all of those small details were in place. She really helped up to pull everything together and made us feel like we could sit back and enjoy all our hard work on the day. Our toastmaster, Nick, was the cherry on top and helped us to ensure our day ran smoothly and that guests felt looked after. He was professional and warm which further added to the experience of the day. The bridal suite was exquisite and i felt like a princess getting to stay there the night before the wedding. All our bags were handled so we had nothing to worry about on the day and the honeymoon suite was the comfy space we needed after a long day. If you are looking for a picturesque, warm and intimate space for your wedding you should go and view Audley's Wood. The venue was the perfect balance for us in wanting space but not feeling like our smaller wedding was being dwarfed by the venue. The team know exactly what they are doing and give you confidence that your day will go just as you imagine it.

We held our informal wedding reception at the refurbished Crowne Plaza hotel. Why informal? We wanted to surprise our guests who thought they were attending a birthday party. I can’t thank the management and staff enough for all their help with the planning and organisation in the short space of time allowed. From the wedding ‘breakfast’ for the only 10 guests in the know through to the early evening buffet where even a ‘kids’ corner was put together. The meal and buffet food was excellent value and the breakfast buffet is the best I have had in all the many UK hotels we have visited. The refurbished bedrooms are a dream and the bed is really comfortable. The staff were very receptive to the few children who attended. So all in all a great experience. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

We chose The Red Lion Hotel to host our reception because of its convenient location, inclusive package and lovely wedding coordinator, Jay. She was really clear in explaining everything we needed, always responded to our queries promptly, and worked with us to ensure that ourselves and our guests had our needs met, even when I remembered certain details on the morning of the wedding itself! Their preferred caterers (Lemon Stone Events) were particularly helpful in managing my dietary needs and anxieties. Our guests got a slight discount to stay on the night of the wedding, and my husband and I got the bridal suite + full English breakfast included. I opted to stay the night beforehand so my makeup and dress could be sorted on-site, at an additional cost. As a fun addition, we were able to book one of the hotel conference rooms at an extra cost so that our more nerdy/introverted friends had a board-games room to go to! This suited most of our guests much more than the disco run by the DJ, whose costs were included in the package.

We are so glad we chose Basing House for our wedding in May. The venue is outstandingly beautiful and full of history, but the dedicated and attentive team of Basing House is really the point that stuck out with us. Kirstie the venue coordinator and her team were exceptional. They guided us through the whole process from start to finish, were available to support with any questions and were truly amazing on our wedding day ensuring everything went smoothly and stress-free. I cannot recommend Basing House and it's team enough. I can say with confidence that any future couples considering Basing House will not regret choosing this venue and team.
