From the first viewing of the venue we were made to feel so welcome and at ease. Such a stunning little venue. So many guests commented on what a wonderful pub it is. The food was amazing and the service was fantastic. We are the simple fun filled day here and it is lovely we can visit regularly and know that we got married there. The room for the overnight stay was super lovely.

We had our wedding reception at the BVI, and throughout 4 months of planning, Billy, Ryan and their team went above and beyond to accommodate our requirements, build flexibility into their packages, help turn all our ideas into reality and make the day absolutely magical for us. We wanted a rustic and intimate feel, and even with 90-ish day guests and 120 in the evening, the team managed to make everything feel cosy (though not cramped) and personal - and all for a very reasonable cost! The pub looked like a twinkly wonderland with all the lights and Christmas decorations - Billy even arranged our flowers for us on the morning and the team put together a whole host of lovely touches that I hadn't thought of, like congratulations messages on chalkboards and little name labels on the cakes that some of our guests had made for us. All our guests are still commenting on what a gorgeous setting it made, how much love and care went into the setup, and how brilliant the staff were. We spent a lot of time planning the day, but still could never have imagined how special the venue would feel to us from the moment we walked in the door, so much so that we are already talking about booking a stay in one of the pub's lovely rooms to celebrate our first anniversary! Several of our guests have also decided that they are coming back for dinner in the near future. I honestly can't recommend the BVI enough, Even just as a dinner venue the pub is fab - if you plan to check it out as a venue, I highly recommend making a date of it and trying out some of Ryan's delicious food!

We had our day in November 2024 at Papillon in Southampton. The venue itself is amazing! We had so many guests comment on how beautiful the space was! The staff were so polite, helpful and friendly throughout all of my emails, phone calls and drop-ins. Their flexibility was really helpful throughout the process too. The food and drinks were great, accommodating all dietary requirements. The sound system for our evening of dancing was fantastic also! Cannot recommend Papillon enough! Thank you for making our day so special!

We choose to have our wedding breakfast at The Ship and we could not have wished for a more perfect venue and experience. Katie was exceptional at being able to think of all the special details that we would have wanted to make the wedding perfect. All the staff made sure our guests were served to the highest standard and we can not thank them enough for everything they did.
