We had our wedding reception here in November and have nothing but praise for the staff, the wedding reception venue areas, the food and the rooms. From the initial planning meeting with Gary, the wedding co-ordinator, we were put at ease in the confidence that everything would be organised to what we would describe as a five star standard. Nothing seemed a problem or too much trouble to plan our wedding to our requirements .Every detail you could think of to include in your wedding reception was presented to us with ideas and choices of things we could do. The whole experience from the first contact with the hotel to the planning, the reception, the following morning with a family breakfast and any contact after has been faultless with professionalism, experience and fantastic hospitality. We had so many comments from our guests about how smoothly the day ran, the food being delicious, the staff being so helpful and approachable and how relaxed the atmosphere was. We can’t recommend this hotel enough as a wedding venue and also as a fantastic family friendly place to stay. Words can’t say how happy we and all our family and friends were with the venue and we can’t thank all the staff enough for making our day such a special and memorable experience. Thank you!

Fantastic New Years Eve Wedding!
Just had the best wedding ever. Venue was perfect, everything went well and the food was fantastic. Gary did a brilliant job in organizing the event and was really helpful with us putting our decorations in the room. Would definitely recommend it as both a wedding venue and hotel.

What an amazing day
We all had the most fantastic day, the food was fab, the service was excellent - especially Gary the wedding co-ordinator, he was absolutely brilliant and nothing was to much trouble, which in turn meant that the day went smoothly and we didn't have to worry about anything else than enjoying ourselves! Can't rate it highly enough.

Amazing day!
Our wedding was all I could have hoped for and more. The venue was stunning and we received so many compliments from our guests. In particular our wedding planner, Gary, was fantastic, nothing was too much trouble and he really helped me just relax and enjoy the day. Would definitely recommend Gary and the venue to future brides!!

Excellent
We had the best wedding reception i could have ever dreamed of the weather was perfect, the setting & food was perfect and to top it of the honeymoon suite with the hot tub was ready for us which was totally amazing! & a great surprise! all our guests who came loved the hotel & are still complimenting it to us & my parents.

Superb
My husband and i got married at Hawkwell House In May 2009. It''s a superb venue for a wedding, the Thames Suite is very large whith a big dancefloor and as we had a large number of guests this was perfect. The grounds are beautiful for both the photographs and for guests to mingle. Erin the wedding co-ordinator is first class, from day one she replied to every email and phone call that i made. She was accomodating in every aspect, such as candles, chair covers and even a sweet bar! The complimenetary Disco was also fabulous as i sent them a long list of songs that we wanted for the evening including some irish ones and they played everything we asked for. They also only played when we asked them to as we hired a band and all the staff helped this be arranged, everyone was just fantastic i really cannot emphasise this enough. The food was also of a very good standard and we had vegetarians and gluten free meals that were arranged with no trouble at all. Hawkwell House is a five minute cab ride from Oxford City Centre which is what we were looking for but is also set in iffley village which looks the part despite being so close and with such a top class service from the staff we really couldn''t ask for more.

A perfect Oxfordshire location!
We were extremely impressed with the advice, support and regular contact we recieved from the wedding planner from day one. The venue was bright, clean and of high standard and meet our needs perfectly. The day ran smoothy due to the excellent staff who even stepped in to help when we were let down by another company. I would recommend Hawkwell house fully as a venue to anyone looking to get married in the Oxford venue.

Fantastic food, lovely setting, great service
We had our wedding reception at the Hawkwell in May 2009. The food was a real high point, particularly the lamb shanks. The staff were very helpful, particularly allowing us to have different menus to take into account he more unusual dietary requirements of some of our guests. They even let us replace the pictures in the main reception room with our own photographs! Erin, the wedding co-ordinator, was particularly helpful and responsive, but those of her colleague that we dealt with were also great. The gardens were lovely, particularly as it was a hot, sunny day.

Perfect
From the outset, the staff at Hawkwell house were stunning. They couldn’t do enough to accommodate our needs and make us feel welcome and special. The facilities there are amazing, the Arezzo restaurant area is bright and airy, a perfect place for the ceremony. The Thames Suite is a good size too, plus the transition between wedding breakfast and evening reception went very smoothly, our guests having use of a private bar and patio, all of our guests commented that it made the day feel right as it flowed beautifully, moving from one area to another was not only easy, but very relaxed and not rushed. If you are as lucky as us with the weather on your big day the gardens are beautiful and with the backdrop of the house itself it will make your wedding pictures look great. The food at Hawkwell is top notch and having a taster meal there was superb and good fun, they make such a fuss of you and we will be returning for our anniversary meal next year. I cannot stress enough how excellent the staff are, Erin leads the way in customer service and fully understands the needs of a bride to be, she takes the stress out of it all. Having a package which included flowers, food, ceremony and DJ meant that a lot of what we would have had to organise separately was dealt with for us. All the suppliers, such as Riche de Fleur and the DJ again were so accommodating and we had exactly what we wanted. I also would like to mention the bridal suite!! Wow. You’ve got to love the sunken bath! In summary, the staff, venue, service and price were ALL amazing. We had the time of our life there and I would recommend Hawkwell to anyone I knew who was getting married.

Perfect venue helped make the perfect day!
We had our Wedding Reception at Hawkwell House on 20th February 2009. This was the only venue in Oxford within our budget that my husband and I both loved. The whole experience was hassle free and Erin was brilliant. The venue was very accomadating from fireworks in the evening, to candles and extra confetti. It was great to have the use of outside space even though it was abit chilly!. Overall it was our perfect venue and we can''t thank the staff enough for helping make it our perfect day!

beautiful, friendly, and comfortable.
your wedding day is supposed to be one of the best days of your life, and we can honestly say that this venue helped us to achieve an amazing day that was fully enjoyed by all our guests and ourselves.Every e-mail i sent was replied to within 48 hours, they were flexible, accomodating and managed to do, without acception, everything we asked for. The staff were especially approachable and went above and beyond some of their normal duties to ensure we were wonderfully looked after. I would without hesitation reccomend this venue to anyone looking for a personal and individual wedding because of the flexibility, relaxed atmosphere and degree of professionalism displayed throughout.

Friendly and capable organisers of a lovely reception
From the first meeting with the wedding co-ordinator, through the planning stages, tastings evening, last minute panics and the day itself, Hawkwell did all they could to make my day go smoothly. Everyone commented on how well the reception was run, and the food and service were excellent. I''ve stayed in the hotel at other times too, and would continue to do so. Anyone worried about the location clearly doesn''t know Oxford at all!Iffley''s beautiful,and ten minutes from the centre in a cab.
