Woodland at Wroxeter is a bespoke wedding venue in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, UK.

Welcome to Woodland at Wroxeter, an enclosed section of The Wroxeter Hotel’s grounds encircled by trees and away from the main building.

In the heart of Shropshire yet easily accessible from the Midlands, Manchester and beyond, Woodland at Wroxeter is one of the region’s foremost countryside venues.

With wood chip ground cover and seating for your guests, the site is entered through our rustic walkway. Cherry blossom, bluebells and Spring bulbs abound early in the year, with Wildflowers throughout the summer months. During September and October theming is autumnal with cut straw and an Oktoberfest feel. Whilst in November and December the walkway and aisle are transformed into our enchanted Winter Woodland with plenty of sparkles and festive cheer!

For the colder months and as a backup in case of rain, our handcrafted yurt is yet another ceremony option with mobility access for all.

Designed for all seasons, our three giant Kata tipis complete with fairy lights, furniture and bar are situated next to the ceremony area and available for canapés, cocktails and your wedding breakfast.

Woodland at Wroxeter is the perfect option for couples looking for a woodland wedding which will not be a disaster if it rains, is accessible for guests with reduced mobility and offers a cost-effective tented day.

Our popular all-inclusive packages are unique and offer couples the opportunity of creatively themed weddings at a great price with the added reassurance that everything is taken care of. Put simply, they offer amazing value for money with extras that other venues don’t or can’t provide.

Our complete fairytale wedding

The team at Wroxeter Hotel are wonderful and the venue was just perfect for our outdoor ceremony.

From the moment we drove into the beautiful well tended grounds we felt calm, relaxed and just knew it was a perfect setting for us, our family members and our friends.

The communication was excellent, planning meetings were clear and detailed, and our wedding co-ordinators were fantastic.

The food was outstanding with all of our guests commenting on the quality, choice and presentation.

We really can’t thank the staff enough! Arriving the evening before was wonderful and we were welcomed and made to feel calm and relaxed. Then the big day and the staff were responsive, supportive and so kind.

To us it was the perfect Hotel and staff team.

Evening guest for wedding at the Wroxeter Hotel

I recently attended the evening party of a wedding celebration at the Wroxeter Hotel and it was absolutely fantastic. Although I wasn’t able to attend the daytime celebrations, the venue was perfect for the evening reception and had such a great party atmosphere.

The vibe was amazing, with everyone enjoying the dancefloor and making the most of the lovely outdoor spaces – especially as the weather was perfect that evening. It was such a beautiful setting and really added to the overall experience. The evening food was also incredible and went down a treat with all the guests.

Great venue, highly recommend 5*

We attended an after-wedding party at the Wroxeter Hotel and had such a fantastic experience. The venue itself was great and had an amazing party vibe – it really set the tone for a memorable night. The food was delicious and the drinks were very reasonably priced, which was a nice bonus.

The bride and groom looked incredibly happy, and it was clear everyone was having an amazing time celebrating with them. The hotel is set in a lovely countryside location, which made it feel extra special and relaxing.

To top it all off, I stayed overnight and had a great night’s sleep in a super comfy bed. Overall, a brilliant venue for a celebration – I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.

Fantastic wedding

I recently attended my Uncle’s wedding at this beautiful country house hotel, having travelled up from Kent the night before. From the moment I arrived, I was struck by the charm of the property. The grounds and woodland areas, where the wedding was set to take place, were absolutely stunning.

Unfortunately, the weather didn’t quite play ball, and the ceremony was moved to the Yurt. Honestly, it was just as quirky and attractive as the original plan, and it made the occasion feel even more intimate and unique.

The wedding breakfast was held in three beautifully decorated large tipis, with its own bar area. The food was excellent, and as someone who is gluten-free, I was especially impressed by how attentive the staff were. They made sure I knew exactly who was serving me and that I received the correct GF version of the meal – such a thoughtful touch!

By the time the reception drinks rolled around, the sun had come out, and the rest of the day was just perfect. The evening party was fantastic, with a lively atmosphere and an amazing pizza station. I’m so glad I had booked two nights, as it meant I could fully relax and enjoy the celebrations.

Even at breakfast the following morning, the staff went above and beyond, remembering my dietary needs and pointing out exactly what I could choose from the buffet.

Overall, it was a wonderful wedding and a truly memorable stay. The venue, staff, and atmosphere all combined to make it a perfect experience – I couldn’t recommend it more!

Fiesta Wedding

We got married at the Wroxeter Hotel in September and honestly couldn’t have wished for a more perfect venue or team. We chose the Tipi Fiesta package, which suited our fiesta-themed wedding perfectly and allowed us to bring our vision to life in the most incredible way.



From Spanish flamenco singers to vibrant fiesta-coloured décor and delicious Spanish-style tapas, everything felt so personal and beautifully executed. Our ceremony took place in the woodland, and despite earlier showers in the day, the sun shone at exactly the right moment – it felt magical. The wedding breakfast in the giant tipis was simply stunning and created such a relaxed, joyful atmosphere.



In the evening, the celebrations moved down to the hotel where we were joined by 150 guests for an unforgettable party. The freshly cooked fish & chips served on site were absolutely amazing and such a hit with everyone. The dancefloor was packed all night and the party didn’t stop!



The staff and the venue were absolutely outstanding from start to finish – friendly, professional, attentive, and genuinely invested in making our day perfect. Everything ran seamlessly, and we truly wouldn’t have changed a thing.

Thank you, Wroxeter Hotel, for giving us the wedding of our dreams – we’ll cherish the memories forever. 💃🌞🎉

Dream come true

I couldn't of asked for a more perfect venue, the staff and co-ordinators are amazing, we didnt have to worry about one single thing on our day they create a stress free event that was organised and looked amazing,
We would highly recommend!

Perfect venue!

The Wroxeter were an absolute pleasure to deal with every step of the way. We had a fantastic woodland wedding and would highly recommend

After looking at many venues, the Wroxeter was perfect. Far more reasonable and made all the planning easy, going the extra mile at every step.

We had a great wedding, the grounds are beautiful and the space worked really well. The team was great and took all the stress out of the day.

The food was excellent, Accomodation was great and the team were really friendly, organised and a pleasure to deal with throughout.

We would highly recommend this venue to any couple.
