When you start to visit potential wedding venues at the very beginning of the whole process its not just the venue you need to fall in love with, you also need to have a connection with, and trust in the person selling that venue; as they will be the one helping you to bring your dream wedding into reality. From our first meeting with the wedding planner at the hotel until the day of our wedding, Francesca provided the most outstanding service, always professional, always understanding, always genuine and always invested in our vision for the wedding. She is a great asset to The Talbot and part of the reason we chose the venue for our big day. The whole team at The Talbot helped to make our wedding day truly perfect; it was exactly as we imagined it to be and so much more on top of that. There were the lovely ladies at reception who were always friendly, always greeted us with smiles and were always happy to help, whatever our requests. The auburn-haired gentleman in the smart suit looked who after us all so well, the ladies and gentlemen who waited on us, the chef and kitchen team for the amazing food. The bar manager who we did our wine tasting with and who very kindly bought in the selection of gins we asked for. Also, David who made the special journey to the post office in the middle of nowhere to obtain the elusive Isle of Harris gin for our wedding; this went down very well and sold out quickly. Everyone was so genuinely friendly and it really made the whole long weekend that much more special to us, and our guests. From the bottom of our hearts thank you all so much!

We couldn’t have chosen a better venue to host our wedding and allowing us to book for the entire weekend along with close family members also being able stay within the house. Stephanie (and Cara) were always so helpful with the entire planning and organization, despite us having to do so while living in the U.S. They are so accommodating and flexible. Stephanie took care of vendor communication behind the scenes seamlessly and efficiently, and the actual wedding itself ended up being absolutely perfect because of her organization and suggestions. Being able to utilize the house and grounds for each part of the wedding was so special. It is a beautiful, unique venue that allowed us to create something bespoke for our wants. I can’t recommend Birdsall House enough! I only wish we were able to spend even more time there! Thank you again for putting together the most amazing wedding weekend for us.

The Orangery at Settrington

The Orangery is unlike any other venue wedding venue we have come across and it was the perfect place for our wedding. The location itself is idyllic, private and uniquely stunning. From the gorgeous Italian touches like the beautiful frescoes to the tempietto in the gardens, there are so many exquisite details which set this venue apart. It is also next to a historic church, with a lovely Vicar, which was a beautiful place to get married. The proximity also meant that there was no time wasted on travel in between the ceremony and reception – we made the very short walk from the church to the Orangery itself along with all of our guests in procession which is one of our favourite memories from the day. There is also an incredibly charming onsite cottage which you can stay in, and meant a short walk to the ceremony on the wedding day (and more time to get ready with the bridal party!). As well as the stunning location, the Orangery offers a truly bespoke experience. Karen and Sara were a joy to work with and extremely generous with their time; sharing their wisdom down to the finest detail in our planning meetings, which was truly invaluable. Karen and Sara were also extremely helpful in recommending suppliers and sharing design ideas, as well as directly liaising with the many suppliers on our behalf in the lead up to the wedding (confirming directions, arrival times, important information etc), which took the pressure off our shoulders. We are also very grateful to Karen and Sara for allowing us to have access to the venue in advance for the week of the wedding too (unheard of at other venues), so that we could enjoy the set up without feeling pressured. Every detail was considered, down to the smallest touches and both Karen and Sara were there on the day to ensure everything ran as it should from behind the scenes, so that we could totally immerse ourselves in the joy of the day with our guests. All of the staff on the day were lovely and the service was second to none. We could not be more appreciative and cannot recommend the Orangery more highly. Thank you so much!
