Burtonfields Hall is located 15 minutes from the centre of York. This beautiful family run estate is situated in acres of glorious parkland offering views up to the Yorkshire wolds. Burtonfields is and always will be an exclusive use venue meaning its beautifully decorated interior and perfectly manicured outdoor spaces are all at your disposal, enabling you to host the wedding of your dreams.
Origionally the home of the Bush family, Burtonfields has been recently renovated to become a wedding and events venue. As the house was designed for entertaining it made perfect sense to open the doors and host the most special events. With a fantastically intimate feel, guests will be enamoured by the charm of Burtonfields as although grand, everyone always feels at home and that is exactly what we want!
Facilities and Capacity
Licensed for ceremonies of up to 120 in the magnificent billiard room or on the beautiful south facing garden. After a gorgeuous ceremony guests make their way to the south facing terrace or to the reception rooms for post-ceremony drinks. If dining up to 76, the billiard room is transformed into the most irresistable banquet hall, alternativley a marquee can be set on the lawn for larger weddings in summer for that true garden party feel. Once the feast is finished the billard room is opened up so you can dance the night away!

Wholeheartedly a family business William Bush, the current owner, prides himself on being on hand at all times from initial contact, to the planning process and all the way through to the coordination on the day of the wedding itself! He also has a truly amazing team too that helps ensure every detail is perfect!
Burtonfields likes to see itself apart from many other places by offering a truely bespoke experience by not packaging anything, including it's food and drinks offering. Instead couples are able to choose exactly what they want to eat by choosing one of the 6 fantastic local caterers and exactly what they want to drink by making use of the generous discounts and transparent pricing, on the ample bar and wine lists.
As well as not packaging anything, at Burtonfields, there are no 'upgrades', 'hidden extras' or 'cleaning fees' because we like to keep things simple!

Valentine’s Day Wedding
We had the most amazing Valentine’s Day wedding at Burtonfields Hall!
From first viewing to the weekend itself Will and Becky were so attentive, kind and made us feel at complete ease. Becky answered any and every question big or small and made our planning process smooth and without stress.
On the weekend itself we felt so welcomed and comfortable, it really does feel like you’re in your own space so can really relax into the weekend. The rooms were immaculate, fires lit and ready for us and the kitchen perfectly equip to allow to celebrate with a small group the night before.
Becky and the team helped the day run perfectly, with flexibility and ease if we ran over at certain parts (very long speeches!!), so many of our guests commented how helpful the team were.
The facilities and grounds are amazing, the team are fantastic, I truly don’t think we could have picked anywhere better to get married!!

From the moment we drove up the beautiful driveway at Burtonfields Hall, we knew we had found our dream venue. The setting is simply stunning, and having the option of a marquee was a huge bonus for us – it made the whole celebration feel even more special and personal.
Will was an outstanding wedding coordinator from start to finish. In the lead-up to the big day, he was always on hand to answer questions and offer support, and on the day itself he ensured everything ran seamlessly. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and his calm, professional approach made the entire experience stress-free and enjoyable.
The house itself is absolutely beautiful. Each room is uniquely decorated to an exceptional standard, combining elegance with real comfort. Our guests couldn’t stop commenting on how lovely everything was.

DREAM wedding venue
Burtonfields Hall was the absolute dream venue for our wedding on 5th Nov 2025. It was the only venue we viewed and the minute we drove up, we knew it was the one. The house is classic and traditional yet modern and was exactly what we were looking for, the rooms are decorated to the highest standard and all guests commented how comfortable the beds were. Having the ability to be there for 2 nights exclusively either side of the wedding was perfect.
Will and Becky were exceptional throughout the whole planning process and really saw our vision, no ask was too much. They were professional, knowledgeable and attentive.
The house is so well equipped and built to host these amazing events. From the bar to the billiard room, every single element has been thought about. We cannot recommend this beautiful venue enough!

The most incredible venue and team for our wedding day!
We booked Burtonfields Hall for our Indian-English wedding and it was everything we could have asked for and more!!!
From liaising with Will with his fountain of knowledge and boundless positivity to arriving the day before the wedding to the beautiful Burtonfields hall - a cozy, clean and timeless venue that made my family and I feel right at home.
On the wedding day, Will and his team were phenomenal! Not only were they incredibly organised, but all our guests commented on how fun they were, as well as how brilliant the bar staff were! They all made the wedding day feel even better than we had imagined.
The rooms are decorated beautifully, the beds are wonderfully comfortable and waking up to the stunning views of the grounds, the sheep and the gliding red kites filled, my now husband and I, with a sense of Yorkshire tranquility.
In-truth, we didn’t want to leave and we didn’t want the weekend to end!

Truly excellent
As soon as we stumbled across Burtonfields online, we knew it was the wedding venue for us. Being a guest at many weddings made us realise exactly what we wanted from our wedding day! Having accommodation on site and a cosy feel was key for us.
When we went to view Burtonfields, Will invited us in and made us feel at home straight away. Burtonfields is cosy yet grand. Every aspect of the house has been well thought out and renovated to the highest possible standard. The fact the house is yours from 1pm on Friday to 2pm on Sunday means that you can really start your party early. We decided we wanted to book Burtonfields for our wedding before even leaving the car park as it blew all other venues we’d looked at out of the park!
Life took an unexpected turn for us which meant we had to rearrange our wedding for a year later. Will was so understanding with this and helped us ensure all our suppliers could accommodate our new date too. Throughout the planning process, Will and Becky were always on hand to answer all our questions.
The weekend itself, where can we start. As soon as all our guests arrived on Friday they were blown away with the standard of accommodation and the extent of how much the house was really all yours!!
Our wedding day ran absolutely perfectly. We did not need to worry on the day regarding any timings or details, Will and Becky had all this in hand. We had a beautiful sunny day and having the drinks reception on the lawn was a magical experience, one us and our guests will never forget. Once all our day guests had left, we still had the house to use to carry on the party without the worry of a ridiculously early check out time the next morning! The Sunday morning fry in the dining room was the perfect way to conclude the weekend.
We can’t thank Will, Becky and all the staff at Burtonfields enough for making our wedding a truly unforgettable weekend.

The Perfect Choice
From start to finish we had the most fantastic experience getting married at Burtonfields Hall! Will, Becky and the rest of the team were extremely helpful and friendly - from offering ideas for possible suppliers to bringing my Dad a whiskey after his speech, nothing was too much trouble. The venue is absolutely beautiful and is perfectly set up to have a great time whatever the weather (as we found out on a particularly wet Saturday!) Being able to stay in the venue the day before and after the wedding gave us extra precious time with our closest family and friends which made the whole thing even more memorable. We are so grateful to everyone at Burtonfields Hall for helping us to have such a fabulous day, you really do have something special!

Burtonfields Hall - August 2025
From the moment we first visited Burtonfields Hall, we knew it was the place where we wanted to celebrate our wedding, a family home with wonderful grounds and a marquee to top– but what truly made it exceptional were the people. From the very beginning, Will and later in the year when Becky joined, went above and beyond for us. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and every question, detail, and idea we had was met with such care, warmth, and professionalism. They made us feel so at ease throughout the entire planning process, and on the day itself, everything flowed seamlessly.
It was such a privilege to be able to stay overnight at Burtonfields. Sharing breakfast the next morning and extending the celebrations with our closest family and friends made everything feel even more special. The house has such a unique charm – it feels like a home in the very best way: warm, welcoming, and full of character, yet still wonderfully elegant and impressive.
Having the choice of a marquee on the grounds allowed us to create the proper English country wedding we had always dreamed of. It was everything we hoped for and more.
The bar team, led by Faye, were also outstanding – attentive, friendly, and full of energy. So many of our guests told us this was the best venue they had ever experienced, not just because of how stunning the house and grounds are, but because of the incredible staff who made it all come to life.
Becky in particular deserves the highest praise – so many of our guests commented not only on how incredible she was at keeping everything running smoothly, but also on her kindness, calmness, and genuine care for everyone. She added such a personal touch that made the whole day even more special.
Will deserves huge recognition too. Burtonfields is his family home, and he has poured so much love, care, and talent into restoring and decorating it so beautifully. Everywhere you look, there are thoughtful details that make the house feel elegant and unique, while still warm and welcoming. His vision for the house and the way he brings it to life for each wedding is truly inspiring.

Perfect venue for the best day of our lives
We got married at Burtonfields Hall a couple of weeks ago, and we honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the first time we visited, we knew it was something special — the atmosphere, the setting, everything just felt right.
The venue itself is absolutely beautiful — the billiard room was so special to get married in and the open doors gave us the perfect backdrop for the day. Our guests are still talking about how gorgeous everything looked.
What really made the difference, though, was the team. Everyone we worked with was so kind, professional, and genuinely helpful. A huge shoutout to Becky, who helped keep everything running smoothly and made the planning feel way less stressful.

No need to look any further!
Where to start with our review of Burtonfields, it has to be with Will himself - the beauty and styling of the venue speaks for itself, but the whole experience wouldn’t have been what it was without Will. The family history and his passion for what he, his family and his team do and why they do it, had us sold at the very first visit!
We cannot begin to thank Will enough for everything he did to make our Wedding Day the most amazing Wedding anyone could ever have
From the early stages of planning right through to the morning after the big day - Will & his team were there to cater to our every need if required, but equally worked so quietly in the background in those stages of the weekend where it felt like you were surrounded by family & friends in your own home
The direction and input we were given by Will at different stages was invaluable! It’s easy to get so wrapped up in the planning of the big day that a honest perspective (all coming from lots of experience) made our day better than we could have imagine - we didn’t think we wanted a cake cutting as it felt too traditional - but just the day before, the suggestion from Will to have it outside on the amazing terrace as part of the reception drinks became a highlight of our day!
On to house itself, the level of detail and design that’s gone into the bedrooms, the living spaces and even down to the loo’s - it’s perfect, nothings been forgotten! The beautiful grounds, the sweeping driveway, stunning borders filled with flowers and plants - makes for an incredible back drop to your Wedding photos. The immaculately kept lawns, expansive terrace and walled gardens complete the setting faultlessly
We couldn’t recommend Burtonfields more if we tried, and hope to return again in the future for another amazing party if we can!

The Perfect Wedding Venue
We were lucky enough to get married here at Burtonfields a couple of weeks ago, and couldn’t recommend it enough. Not only are the house and grounds stunning, but we loved the process from start to finish and we felt we were in really good hands with the planning. Will and Becky were on hand to answer any questions at all times, and were kind, organised, professional and really keen to help us organise the wedding day we wanted! We really appreciated them giving us the freedom to make it our own day with various cultural aspects for our English/Indian fusion!
On the day, we were both completely relaxed because we could tell the team had it all in hand. They were really lovely and approachable and were working really hard, and it was the ideal balance of checking in with us and leaving us to enjoy our day. It was run perfectly and we can’t compliment them all enough.
And finally, Burtonfields is absolutely beautiful, all our friends and family were stunned at the house, room and the grounds! It was brilliant having the place to ourselves with chosen guests from the afternoon before the wedding day to the morning after- it made the experience much more relaxing.
We would do it all again if we could, and hope to be back to visit someday!

No words to discribe the experience we had
I saw the photos and knew we had to view the venue, We had an idea we would fall in love with the venue and grounds but we honestly didn't think the Owner would be what sealed the deal. Being able to work with Will for our wedding really was amazing, he has curated what can only be described as a stunning venue with a welcoming vibe.
thankfully the venue was stunning so minimal effort from us when it came to decor but the decor we had the team made my vision come true, and following the change around the way they moved some of the decor created really unique focal points that even Surprised Harri and I.
With some of the details we wanted to do, I worried I was asking too much but we talked though it and walked though the details of what we were aiming for and my mind was put at ease.
The front of house team were lovely, our guest raved about how amazing they were, and about the venue of course. We had some friends stay over the weekend, and the only thing i would say about the rooms is we didn't get enough time in them. We had the best nights sleep which is exactly what you need for the big day they were the perfect back drop for getting ready.
We really cant put into words how Amazing Will and His team were, we would not have had the most amazing day we had without them. We truly cant thank then enough.

thankfully the venue was stunning so minimal effort from us when it came to decor but the decor we had the team made my vision come true, and following the change around the way they moved some of the decor created really unique focal points that even Surprised Harri and I.
With some of the details we wanted to do, I worried I was asking too much but we talked though it and walked though the details of what we were aiming for and my mind was put at ease.
The front of house team were lovely, our guest raved about how amazing they were, and about the venue of course.
