Burtonfields Hall is located 15 minutes from the centre of York. This beautiful family run estate is situated in acres of glorious parkland offering views up to the Yorkshire wolds. Burtonfields is and always will be an exclusive use venue meaning its beautifully decorated interior and perfectly manicured outdoor spaces are all at your disposal, enabling you to host the wedding of your dreams.
Origionally the home of the Bush family, Burtonfields has been recently renovated to become a wedding and events venue. As the house was designed for entertaining it made perfect sense to open the doors to the public so they could hold the most special events at the Hall.With a fantastically intimate feel, guests will be enamoured by the charm of Burtonfields as although grand, everyone always feels at home and that is exactly what we want!
Facilities and Capacity
Licensed for ceremonies of up to 120 in the magnificent Arts and Crafts billiard room or in the sumptuous gardens the attention to detail throughout the property is second to none. After a gorgeuous ceremony guests make their way to the south facing terrace or to the beautifully adorned reception rooms for post-ceremony drinks. If dining up to 76, the billiard room is transformed into the most irresistable banquet hall and if dining between 76 and 120 a marquee will have been set up on the lawn a couple of days before. Once the feast is finished the billard room is opened up so you can dance the night away!

Burtonfields likes to see itself apart from many other places by offering a truely bespoke experience by not packaging anything, including it's food and drinks offering. Instead couples are able to choose exactly what they want to eat by choosing one of the 5 fantastic local caterers we work with and exactly what they want to drink by making use of our generous discounts and transparent pricing, on our ample bar and wine lists.
As well as not packaging anything, at Burtonfields, there are no 'upgrades', 'hidden extras' or 'cleaning fees' because we like to keep things simple!

The perfect wedding venue
We had the best day ever having our wedding reception at Burtonfields Hall this August. It really is the perfect wedding venue!
From our first visit, we knew that no other venue compared. The house has recently been renovated to a really high standard. Burtonfields has done a brilliant job of blending the old and the new together, creating a truly unique, traditional and modern feel. The outside of the house and the surrounding grounds are equally as stunning.
Will, the owner, was also brilliant from our initial contact. Will was always on hand to answer all of our queries, provided us great guidance and helped the day run smoothly. As Burtonfields is Will’s family home, it made the whole experience feel really special and very unlike other commercial wedding hotel set ups.
All of our guests were so impressed with the venue and we really had the best weekend celebrating our wedding at Burtonfields Hall. Thank you so much for having us - we hope to come back one day! Sarah & Tim

Best wedding venue!!
We had the best weekend ever celebrating our wedding at Burtonfields Hall on 12.10.2024- it was an amazing day!
Will is fantastic and very helpful from our first meeting in August 2023, until the moment we left, ensuring everything went smoothly, and this was noted by all of our suppliers on the day.
Burtonfields is a beautiful venue inside & out and it is so special. We love how the venue is exclusive and becomes your home for the weekend.
All our guests have also shared how they loved the venue and for those who stayed over, they were so impressed with their individual & unique rooms.
We could not recommend Burtonfields Hall enough, I hope we get to return one day.

The Perfect Venue
Burtonfields Hall is such a unique and special wedding venue, offering the best of both worlds with grandeur and class as well as a homely, relaxed and personal feel. We fell in love with Burtonfields right from our first visit and knew it would be the perfect setting for our wedding. Will, the owner and wedding coordinator, was so helpful and supportive, getting to know us as a couple and what was important to us for our celebration, kindly hosting us for multiple visits before our big day and always just an email or a phonecall away in the run-up to the wedding.
We chose to have a full weekend celebration and were made to feel so at home throughout. The 9 bedrooms are all unique but equally beautiful, with every little detail thought of. The Bridal Suite is the most stunning setting for a special wedding morning, spacious and comfortable, flooded with natural light, and elegantly decorated to provide the perfect backdrop for photographs. As well as the many beautiful indoor spaces for guests to break off into, outdoors we had garden games on the lawn, live music on the patio, numerous options for beautiful photo backdrops in the pristinely kept gardens, and a marquee for a picnic-style lunch and speeches, for which Will sourced tables especially to fit the relaxed feel we wanted. The multitude of spaces at Burtonfields means there is a comfortable place for everyone, yet guests are never too far from one another.
Will and the team were always on hand for anything we needed and made sure everything ran seamlessly. We are so grateful for the time and attention to detail they gave to every element of the weekend, whilst making everything feel so relaxed and laid back.
Thank you Will, Kieran, and the rest of the team at Burtonfields for the most magical wedding celebration we could have imagined. Finding a beautiful venue is one thing, but having such wonderful people there to actually make it happen is another, and we are so grateful to the Burtonfields team for doing this for us.

Some of our guests have commented that it was the best wedding they have ever been to....and we completely agree!
We just got married at Burtonfields Hall and it was literally the best day of our lives! This venue is beyond perfect. We had it all to ourselves it from Friday until Sunday with our immediate families staying with us in the stunning bedrooms. Everything has been lovingly refurbished by the owners to a 5 star standard. Our ceremony took place in the Billiard Room on the Saturday afternoon with 90 guests and lead on to a drinks reception on the picturesque terrace with a pianist, exquisite dining, a magician, a ceilidh band and disco dancing into the night! We honestly could not have wished for a better day. We had looked at a few other venues and they all felt a bit tired and ‘hotel-ly’, like wedding conveyor belts. Burtonfields became our home for the weekend, having free rein to spend quality time with our loved ones in a relaxed and beautiful setting.
Will the owner was completely brilliant from the day we booked a year ago to the big day itself, he helped guide us on our wedding planning journey and seemed just as excited as we were about it! Some of our guests have commented that it was the best wedding they have ever been to....and we completely agree!

Perfect from start to finish
My husband and I got married at Burtonfields Hall (BH) and had a truly fantastic day. After struggling to find a suitable venue we came across BH and felt it was very good value. It's also extremely welcoming on a personal level, especially when compared with other venues, many of which appear to be 'wedding factories'. The owner, Will, was on hand from the start. We live in the South so we did a lot of the planning via email/phone. Will's communication is quick and thorough so there was never any waiting or worrying. No matter how large or small the query he was quick to get back to us, even after the wedding when we had a few things to follow up. On the day Will worked extremely hard to ensure the day went as planned - his attention to detail is impeccable. We felt relaxed knowing we were in safe and caring hands.
The venue itself is designed and decorated to a very high standard. The rooms are beautiful. Everything has been thought of - from a music system that plays in all downstairs rooms to perfect lighting, fantastic kitchen space for both caterers and guests, gorgeous toiletries, beautiful planting - I can't fault any of it. It is clear that the BH team have high standards and care deeply about their venue and the experience of their guests.
We wanted a relaxed day and as soon as I walked in on the morning of our wedding I felt that way. Getting ready with my friends and family in the Bridal Suite was a memory I'll never forget. Everyone floated around the house, using the facilities as if they were our own. This relaxed homely feel meant everyone was calm and just so happy.
We said 'I do' in the Billiard Room, Will gave us choices and made suggestions on how we might like it laid out and steered us away from some bad choices. His experience shone through. The room looked amazing and was such an intimate place to share our ceremony with those close to us.
Initially I was worried about having to choose a caterer that the venue approved of, however, this meant we ended up with someone very special. Their relationship with Will and his team at BH was well established and meant everything ran smoothly. Dom's Kitchen prepared a fully vegetarian/vegan buffet and street food for us. No-one missed the meat and we had so many compliments on the spread.
The outside grounds made the perfect setting for photos, crochet, drinks and conversation throughout the day and night. The kids quickly made the grass lawn their place, playing happily whilst the adults chatted.
If you're looking for a homely, welcoming venue which is beautiful inside and out then I would highly recommend Burtonfields Hall. Will will look after you from start to finish. We can't thank him enough.

The wedding venue of dreams!
From the moment we walked into Burtonfields, we knew this was where we wanted to get married. We drove past on our way home from getting engaged and within an hour, we were walking around with our new favourite person, Will. Will's enthusiasm for his family home and new business venture was infectious, and if we're totally honest, he is one of the reasons we couldn't wait to get married here. The interior is beautiful, classic and sympathetic to the house, but doesn't feel remotely "old fashioned", any fan of William Morris will be instantly obsessed. Every single bedroom is outstanding, nobody will feel like they've been short changed here.
We got married in May 2024 and we couldn't have asked for a better day - the sun shone (after a lot of rain) and everything went seamlessly, which was all thanks to Will, Kieran and the BH team.
The emphasis from the team to use the house as your own home makes everything feel so relaxed and it does feel like your own piece of house heaven for a few days. It's big enough to accommodate a wedding easily, but it feels cosy, caring - not too big the night before, when you want a bath in the bridal suite, or want to pop down for a cuppa, when all is quiet for your last few hours before the wedding morning begins. The gardens are a sanctuary and a GIFT for photos. Every single guest commented on how beautiful BH was, inside, outside and what a great energy the house had. It has so much flexibility for a wedding day, little rooms for people to have a quiet moment, space for a big farewell breakfast in the morning - and a bar to die for.
When we drove away the day after our wedding, we genuinely felt a little sad we most likely wouldn't be there again - or see Will again - (yes, we love him) at least not until we have an excuse to throw a massive party.

Burtonfields Hall - perfection
It’s difficult to know where to start writing a review for Burtonfields Hall as a wedding venue. Everything about it is perfect. The venue itself is just breathtakingly beautiful and unforgettable for wedding party and guests alike. The level of detail in the stunning rooms plus the brilliance of Will (the owner) as a wedding coordinator could not be matched anywhere else I’m sure. Initially my daughter’s wedding was booked for summer, including the marquee but we changed the date for early December. I’m sure for a summer wedding it would be perfect, but also as a winter wedding, with roaring fires and Xmas trees it was incredibly atmospheric and intimate. The 9 guest rooms are all beautifully appointed and enabled us to just relax for the whole weekend. Will’s energy and organisational skills and ability to make everything appear seamless made the wedding day just perfect from start to finish. I would highly recommend Burtonfields Hall as a wedding venue and would give 10 stars if it was an option.
