Hotel Du Vin is a stunning Georgian Mansion offering services to couples celebrating their wedding and other special occasions. Combining classic 19th-century architecture and charm with modern style and sumptuous decor, this delightful property is the perfect place for couples to create their dream wedding. Conveniently located in the heart of the historic town of York, Hotel Du Vin offers the ideal blend of elegance and style combined with outstanding service and functionality. The dedicated team prides themselves on creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere and loves working with newlyweds to bring their wedding vision to life.

At Hotel Du Vin, we have four beautiful and individually styled private event spaces which are all licensed for ceremonies, to be used separately or together to create your special day.

Facilities and Capacity

Hotel Du Vin York caters for weddings with up to 80 guests and offers a number of ceremony and reception options.

The Courtyard is the perfect place for couples to exchange vows. Located in the centre of the hotel, this covered outdoor space can accommodate up to 45 attendees and offers a romantic backdrop for ceremonies, drinks receptions, and wedding photographs.

The Ruinart is a stunning room featuring lots of natural light from the large Georgian windows, original wooden floorboards, and a gorgeous marble fireplace. This delightful space seats up to 22 guests and also boasts an impressive mural depicting a hedonistic Roman feast that will delight and inspire guests.

The Ouse is a cosy and intimate room perfect for smaller weddings with up to 18 seated guests. It also features Georgian windows, and here, the sumptuous decor and soft lighting create a relaxing ambience perfect for enjoying an evening with friends and loved ones.

The Library is a stunning front facing room, which can host up to 10 guests, seated this space is perfect for the small intimate wedding.

The Bistro is our main hotel Restaurant but can be hired on an exclusive basis for Weddings. This can seat up to 80 guests for a Wedding Breakfast and can hold an Evening Reception for up to 90 guests in total.

The dedicated team at Hotel Du Vin can provide a range of offerings and packages to suit YOU. Your Event Planner will talk you through the options avaiable and can work together to tailor make your day. The team will work with you to create the wedding experience you have always dreamed of. A wedding coordinator is available to ensure each client's big day goes without a hitch. Couples can reserve the entire property for exclusive use or rooms can be booked individually. Catering is available onsite from a team of executive chefs who will prepare a menu to each couple's exact specifications. Our bedrooms have been refurbished in 2024 and every bedroom features a sleek cutting-edge design, drench showers, and comfortable beds, offering guests a welcome retreat at the end of the day. This spectacular wedding venue is easily accessible, has excellent facilities for disabled guests, and free wifi throughout.

Perfect wedding at the Hotel du Vin York

We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect wedding day. Huge thanks to the incredible team at Hotel du Vin York. The venue was stunning, with beautiful surroundings that made our day truly special. The entire staff were friendly, professional, and went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly from start to finish. Beautiful venue

We fell in love with this venue as soon as we saw it. Its a listed building with so much character. It has several rooms for ceremony and functions. It is suitable for 50 guests as fairly small. But due to bar area and other cosy rooms It doesn't feel small also there is outside area with seats and tables. Ideal for warm summer evenings. The staff and wedding planners were excellent so helpful. Everything was exactly as we wanted. Food is amazing too. We had a wonderful experience would definitely recommend.

Our UK wedding do

We decided to host our UK do at Hotel Du Vin before we flew to Italy for our big wedding day.

The staff at Hotel Du Vin were excellent. Fern and Kate were amazing.

The hotel is absolutely stunning and spacious for our guests. The bedrooms were also delightful.

Our day was so special and we couldn’t have chosen a better venue.

Wedding 28.08.24.

The venue is absolutely gorgeous and we looked at this one venue in York and knew it was for us. The communication with everyone involved leading up to the day was great! So on the day there was no burning issues or concerns as they were all dealt with via emails, phone calls or in person.
For us personally we let the venue set u pur room for our wedding breakfast, it was absolutely stunning. Alot of care went into it and I can't say enough how gorgeous it was, to say they did it themselves.
We only had 9 people in total at our wedding and it was great they accommodated for such a small wedding.
From us arriving to us leaving, it was a thoroughly enjoyable and amazing experience. There wouldn't be anything that I would say they could improve on. They took care of everything and they did it wonderfully!

Amazing venue

Hotel du Vin is an amazing wedding venue. I can’t recommend it enough. All our guests had a great time and were as impressed as we were with the venue. The ceremony room is beautiful. If you are looking for a venue go and have a look round, it’s perfect.

Hotel du Vin, York - Fern Thomas

The events team for Hotel du Vin were amazing. From the initial meeting with Fern, she looked after us and made sure she knew exactly what we wanted for our day. On the day, everything seemed effortless and at no point did we feel like anything was too much ask or hassle. Kate, one of the hotel managers, made sure the day ran smoothly and made sure that my husband and I had absolutely nothing to stress about. The wedding breakfast and evening buffet were both gorgeous and our guests have commented on how fab the food and service was! Our day was absolutely perfect and we couldn’t have asked for anything more, we were beyond happy from start to finish. We felt like Fern, Kate and all of the hotel staff put us first throughout the day and they were fabulous. Also, the bridal suite was to die for! Amazing from start to finish, thank you.

Our stunning wedding day

We had THE most perfect wedding at Hotel Du Vin in May 2024. Abi and Fern from the events team were so helpful right from our first meeting and incredibly patient with my (many!!!) questions throughout the planning process.

The venue itself is so beautiful and classy and the rooms are super versatile. The team went above and beyond to make sure we could plan our wedding just the way we wanted, for instance instead of cake we wanted to do tequila shots for all the guests which they were happy to facilitate.

On the morning of the wedding it was particularly warm and Kate made sure the bridal party stayed cool with fans, iced water and anything else we asked for! Whether giving us a pep talk before we walked down the aisle, coordinating us ready for the first dance or ensuring all allergies were catered to and the drinks were flowing, the team couldn’t have done enough for us.

The tables were set up just as I’d requested and the printed elements, post box and disco ball I’d provided were all set up perfectly.

I would thoroughly recommend Hotel Du Vin as a venue for your wedding.

Outstanding!

We honestly had the most amazing day. Walking into the event space was better than I imagined in my head. I was so impressed with the way the team used our items and created something amazing - and had such great judgement to not use it all, just what seemed right. The food was outstanding (even if I couldn't eat most of it due to a tight fitting dress!), the atmosphere, the wonderful and funny bar staff, the welcome, the drinks, the staff bigging me up when I was having photos on the stairs. From the start of it all; booking the Du Vin, to the end result, it felt relaxed and flawless, you always made me feel like everything was under control and I can't thank you enough. Outstanding!

Hotel du Vin York is a beautiful Grade II listed building that dates back to the early 19th century, located in The Mount, a tranquil area close to the city centre.

Formerly a private home and orphanage, this enchanting boutique hotel houses forty four recently refurbishment stylish bedrooms and suites, a trademark bistro, Courtyard function space, bar and elegant private dining rooms along with an outdoor terrace to enjoy.

On Sunday 17th November 2024, this wonderful venue will be throwing open their doors from 11 am to the public for an intimate wedding fayre not to be missed featuring over 25 top wedding suppliers.

Feel free to ask for a show-around if you are still seeking a venue as a member of the hotel’s team will be on hand for a chat and to discuss dates and options.

All engaged couples will be greeted with a sparkling reception as well as receiving a free gift bag and a sample of leading wedding magazines upon arrival.
