Mr & Mrs King

We recently celebrated our wedding at the hotel and it was an absolute dream true!
The staff were amazing especially Steve who was there to look after us on the day and Emily the wedding coordinator in the build up to the big day. Our guests are still raving about the delicious food and the magical Oak Room.

Just a note to say thank you for a wonderful day on Saturday. Everything went perfectly from the ceremony to the DJ and we're really appreciative of the efforts you all put in.

I gave a nod to you, to Hannah and the catering staff in my speech and I want to reiterate how helpful Hannah was in organising everything. The waiting staff were very impressive (it was like a military operation!) and the food was perfect - so many guests complimented it. The room and the breakfast the next morning were great too.

Our Wedding day

‘Everything was perfect and I could not have even imagined how perfect it could possibly be. It is all down to Isobel and Liam who worked so incredibly hard to make sure everything went smoothly and our wishes were met. I don’t even think I could start to thank them for everything they have done because 1 it would take me forever and 2 there are no words. I cannot fault them in the slightest. I want to do it all again!’

Diddams & Alipoor Wedding

Just wanted to let you know what a wonderful time we had at the Principal Hotel this weekend. Natalie and Javaad seemed to spend the whole day with the biggest smile.

Liam and his team were really great and everything went like clockwork. We were particularly impressed that nothing seemed to faze the team and there was nothing that was too much trouble.

We would like to Congratulate you and your team for the hard work and attention to detail on our Wedding day. It was such a wonderful day and we all had an excellent time. No-one could fault anything.

We would like to say thank you to the Royal York, especially our wedding Host, she was excellent and the day ran so smoothly, it was relaxing. The food was superb, a massive thank you to the Chef and his team, everyone is making the Royal York a place to visit for food now!

Myself and my wife will be visiting the Royal York Hotel in the near future, for a nice meal and we will always remember that special day we had with you.

Wedding 2014

We really did have a great day and it will be a day we will always remember. The food was absolutely spot on and everyone commented how lovley it was too. We were extremely impressed all afternoon and evening at the service which was provided by all the staff at the hotel. We were especially impressed with Jeet, he was very helpful and attentive all day. My brother also said he was really happy with how all the staff were good with his 4 year old girl especially Jeet.

wedding reception at the Royal York on 1.8.14

Hi Katie, just a quick email which I meant to send before now, to say thank you so much for organising the above and a huge thank you too to ALL the staff of the Royal York who helped in any way at all on the day which made the day (and evening) so fantastic for Natalya and Mark and for everyone who attended.

It went absolutely perfectly and I am still on a bit of a high when I think about it. The staff at the Royal York were absolutely lovely - including the reception staff, the bar staff, the concierge staff, the waiting staff, the gentleman who organised what happened on the day as far as announcing what we needed to do and when and of course the chefs. We received so many compliments from the guests about every single aspect of the wedding reception including how smartly dressed and how polite every single staff member we came into contact with was - and everyone who stayed was really happy with their stay too and breakfast the next day.

I would not hesitate to recommend
the Royal York to anyone for their wedding reception.

Wedding 2013

Wedding 28th September

I held my wedding at the Royal York Hotel on the 28th September this year. We had an absolutley fantastic day. All the staff were extremely helpful and welcoming. Guests are still commenting on how nice everyone was.

So happy we chose The Royal York!

We had our whole wedding at The Royal York Hotel on the 28th June 14. The whole day was beautiful from start to finish and the hotel could not have done any more for us. From the moment we asked to view the venue, a year before the wedding, the staff couldn't have been more attentive, particularly the co-ordinators.

The food and service of food were amazing, they managed to get the courses out so efficiently and quickly. The food was absolutely gorgeous. We had Lamb in burgundy jus for main, cooked to perfection. Even notoriously fussy guests were impressed! Children were also well catered for, with a choice between children's menu or a smaller version of the main course.

Any issues on the day, such as a very nervous bride and a sickly child, were dealt with, with the upmost compassion and care.
I seriously cannot recommend this venue enough. We looked at most wedding venues in York before we booked and none impressed us as much as The Royal York!
