We had our winter wedding here on the 13th December 2025 and just WOW. Our vibe was cozy, personal and festive, Phillipa and her team absolutely nailed it. From the first wedding meetings all the way through till weeks after the wedding still checking up on us, the service has been second to none. Phillipa was very professional yet felt like I had a bridal bestie who knew exactly what I wanted without me having to go crazy, she’s a credit to her job and made our day feel so easy, special and put together. It was perfect. THE FOOD was genuinely unreal, we had the ‘posh buffet’ and literally everyone was saying how nice it was, it looked and tasted 100/10 I was actually taken a back by how good it was! The canapés and drinks were amazing, everything was just brilliant and I couldn’t recommend The Stone Trough, Phillipa and her team more! There’s also Kirkham Abbey just down the road for great photo opportunities 🥹 If you’re looking for a cozy, personal, pub wedding then this is the place for you 🙏🏼💫💍🤍

Me and my partner got married at the Stone Trough Inn on Nov 8th and I cant recommend the venue enough. From day 1 to the big day, Phillipa and her staff couldnt do enough for us.
We had multiple meeting at the Stone Trough to discuss any issues we had and all our queries were always met with positivity and solutions.

The location of the venue was perfect for the intimate wedding we wanted. It is a beautiful countryside venue to match the views surrounding it. The big days itself couldnt have gone any smoother and thats all down to the great work of Phillipa and her team. They completely decorated the entire venue in the morning with the decorations we provided allowing myself and my partner to enjoy our mornings apart and prepare for the day ahead. (The execution of the decorations was perfection).

The Wedding breakfast and food for the evening was incredible. Even though our wedding was a few months ago now we still get family and friends labelling it as 'the best wedding food they have had'. The staff on the day were more than accommodating, they genuinely felt like part of the celebrations and by the end of the night ended up knowing most of the guests by there first name which set a really nice vibe. Phillipa and her team constantly checked in on me and my now wife to make sure we were having the best day possible and didn't need anything.

The Stone Trough has become more than a wedding venue for us. Due to amazing experience we had, we now see the Stone Trough Inn as more of a tradition. A place we look forward to visiting many more more times in the future.

The Venue, staff and food were 10/10. Can't recommend enough.

The day was flawless from start to finish! Every
Moment from getting out of the car to the last dance was perfect. ALL the staff were excellent, so professional and attentive! Philippa was amazing throughout the planning process - helped with all ideas and was very accommodating to changes and on the day she again was amazing and made sure everything was on point.

The decor was done to such a high standard, the change overs were seamless. The FOOD was outstanding huge compliments to the chef, allowed us to have what we wanted and it was perfection. I would highly recommend the Stone Trough Inn, you will not regret it.

From start to finish Philippa and team went above and beyond to make our wedding the most perfect day, attention to detail was second to none, the food was impeccable and the whole wedding party had the most amazing day! Nothing was too much for Philippa, last minute changes and plans and she still perfectly orchestrated the whole day! If we could do it all over again we wouldn’t change a thing and the Stone Trough would be our number one choice with its amazing views and beautiful charm. We got married here in September 2025 and the whole experience, from setting a date to the actually day itself was absolutely incredible. We were nervous about setting a date with just 7 weeks notice, but Phillipa was on hand at all times to help us navigate the decisions needed. Nothing was too much!
The day itself was seamless!! And the food, wow! We had nothing but compliments about how beautiful the food was, and it really was amazing! The staff went out of their way all day and night to ensure that our guests and ourselves were looked after at every point. I cannot rate this venue high enough! What an absolute gem we stumbled across!
If you do chose to get married here definitely head down to the priory for some photos!

The Stone Trough Inn is a intimate venue with amazing views, All the staff are very attentive and are committed to making your special day go as smoothly as possible so you have nothing to think about other than enjoying every moment.
The quality of the food and presentation was outstanding, as well as effortlessly catering for all dietary requirements.
I couldn't recommend this venue enough for anyone wishing to have a small to medium intimate wedding in a relaxed idyllic setting.

From the moment we walked into the venue to make the first enquiry, to the moment we left on the wedding day, everything was exactly as we wanted it. We had a very clear idea of what we wanted, and nothing was too much bother. Their wedding specialist was great throughout, and was very receptive to what we wanted. She wasnt overbearing or pushy at all, and we genuinely felt they cared more about making our day special than the bottom line . Other venues we had approached definitely didnt recognise this.
The chef was amazing, and the food top notch.
The attention to detail, and the service throughout couldnt have been better.
A big thank you to all involved for adding to our special day, and removing the stress, and making it a memorable occasion for all the right reasons. 5 stars isnt enough.

Me and my partner got married at the Stone Trough Inn last weekend. We couldn’t have picked a more perfect venue. The wedding breakfast and evening food (barbecue) was amazing. All of the staff were wonderful and they went above and beyond to make our day so special. The views surrounding the pub are also unbelievable. We wish we could do it all again.

We just had our wedding at the Stone Trough in April and we had the best day! From start to finish the day was everything we could have asked for, a lovely setting with a relaxed atmosphere and amazing food! We loved everything about our day, the staff were absolutely amazing and so attentive, they worked so hard to make sure everything was perfect! Philippa was brilliant and made sure everything was perfect for us leading up to and on the day including all the finishing touches! We could not recommend the Stone Trough Inn more for your wedding day!!

The Stone Trough Inn hosted our daughter and son-in-law's wedding yesterday and we couldn't be happier with the venue and the First Class service provided by their staff team from start to finish. (Apologies for not remembering all their names).

Phillipa met with them ahead of the big day to find out what special touches would make the celebration of their wedding, truly personalised to them. And on the day itself, being present to make sure everything ran to plan - and it did!

The efficient team made sure everyone was catered for with excellent service, they were all so attentive and friendly, and professional.

The three course Wedding Breakfast was delivered to an exceptionally high standard, it was delicious and filling. They catered to a variety of dietary needs, making sure everyone had the same fantastic dining experience. Served in the conservatory which was opened up as we were blessed with glorious weather.

The venue is very accessible, just a short drive from the A64. However, as it's surrounded by hills, the setting is peaceful and without traffic noise.

As the name suggests, the venue is a beautiful, rustic stone country pub, nestled amongst rolling hills with stunning views which you can enjoy from the picnic tables to the front of the pub. And, just around the corner from Kirkham Abbey, next to the river Derwent, which offers the most romantic backdrop to your wedding photos. The ambience was relaxed and intimate, a home from home to celebrate with family and friends.

The venue can cater for over a hundred guests. The bar was well stocked and well staffed.

From 6pm, we were able to occupy the whole pub, which gave us a choice of cosy corners, with stone floors and wooden beams throughout, to sit and chat whilst the more energetic guests partied enthusiastically. The isolated setting meant that we were able to have a very lively disco, in the conservatory, until midnight.

There is a large car park where one couple were even able to park their mobile home, making it very convenient.

All the guests commented on the beautiful venue and say they hope to return soon, I know we certainly will!

I can't recommend this venue enough.

My daughter had her wedding reception here. Absolutely stunning venue, great food, reasonably priced and all the staff went above and beyond. Highly recommend.

I am writing this review as mother of the groom the venue is set in stunning countryside with amazing views, dogs were ring bearers and were welcomed as much as the rest of the wedding party. Nothing was too much trouble, Phillips was amazingly helpful setting the venue up and ensuring all ran smoothly, luckily the weather was good so had the roof retracted for the ceremony, the food was amazing and the drinks flowed, the waiting staff were very efficient and couldn’t do enough a very well organised wedding from start to finish. Photographs by the abbey backdrop also a plus couldn’t fail it , Thank you all.

I could not recommend The Stone Trough Inn enough for your wedding day. Not only is it in the most picturesque setting but the venue itself is stunning. The food has been talked about for the last couple of years and all our friends and family
remarked on the quality of food and of the service. They are flexible, kind and really hospitable. Everything went off without a hitch! Due to the weather, we were able to dine with the roof fully down with stunning views of the Yorkshire countryside! Fantastic!
