Situated within easy travelling distance of London, yet boasting stunning countryside views and miles of open spaces, it’s no surprise that Surrey is a popular, and often pricey, place to say ‘I do’.
If you’re venue shopping on a budget in this area and beginning to lose heart, don’t panic! We’ve scoured the county for the cheapest wedding venues and we reckon you’ll be pleasantly surprised by what we’ve found.
From stunning barns that have hosted celebrity weddings (yes, really) to country clubs, festival fields and manor houses, you can get way more for your money from a Surrey wedding venue when you book one of these gems.
1. High Billinghurst Farm – Dunsfold
We LOVE High Billinghurst Farm, not least because it played host to the wedding of YouTube fitness sensation Joe Wicks. From the festoon-lit courtyard to the rustic yet opulent interiors of the barns, every inch of this place is simply perfect for weddings.
With so much going for it, you might be thinking High Billinghurst would be way out of your budget, but thanks to their low season prices, it’s totally possible to host a purse-friendly winter wedding here. Wedding hire in January or February starts at £5000, and we reckon with plenty of candles and winter florals, it could be totally magical!
2. Frensham Pond Country House Hotel & Spa – Farnham
Surrounded by 900 acres of National Trust woodland, Frensham Pond Country House Hotel & Spa is a must-see for couples dreaming of privacy and tranquility on their big day. Featuring a newly renovated 15th century country house hotel at the edge of the magnificent Frensham Great Pond, you’ll struggle to find more idyllic surroundings in Surrey for the price.
Prices here start at £80 per person for the Silver Package, which includes a three-course meal, bucks fizz on arrival, wine on the tables, fizz for the toast and accommodation for the happy couple on the night of the wedding, plus much more. Sounds pretty good to us!
3. Yew Lodge Country House – Felcourt
Yew Lodge Country House is a family-run wedding venue with a reputation for creating personal and unique wedding days. The venue perfectly combines old and new, giving couples the chance to be photographed outside of the Victorian building or within the characterful ceremony room before enjoying a feast and dancing the night away in the modern and minimalist reception space.
The venue will be exclusively yours for the day, so you’re also free to explore the grounds and snap some wedding photographs amongst the many idyllic spots that surround the house. Prices here start at £3995 based on 40 guests and this includes a three-course wedding breakfast, wine for the tables, bubbles for the toast and so much more – it’s a total bargain.
4. Lythe Hill Hotel & Spa – Haslemere
Dating all the way back to the 1400s, the incredible Tudor house at Lythe Hill Hotel & Spa – coupled with acres of beautiful land – provides a majestic backdrop for wedding days. Brimming with options, the team here offer couples the chance to wed within one of their characterful rooms, in the brand new Ivory Room or in the Lakeside Wedding Gazebo.
Weddings here start at £7995 based on a wedding ceremony and reception with 80 guests in attendance and include a three-course wedding breakfast, a DJ, an evening buffet for 100 guests and a night in the honeymoon suite for the newlyweds.
5. The Red Barn – Lingfield
This 16th century barn-turned-country pub offers a warm welcome to all who wish to marry in traditional, relaxed surroundings. Fully licensed for civil ceremonies, couples can spend their entire day at The Red Barn, making the most of the charming courtyard area with Pimms in the summer or enjoying something a little more full-bodied next to the log fire in the colder months.
Standard wedding packages start at £90 per person based on 80 guests and include an arrival drink, buffet menu, prosecco for the toast and late night snacks. Smaller groups are also welcome and prices can be discussed on an individual basis.
6. Bramley Golf Club – Guildford
Situated just outside of bustling Guildford is the Bramley Golf Club, a contemporary wedding venue with acres of manicured land to enjoy from the sun-soaked terrace or floor to ceiling windows in the reception suite. Bramley invite you to join them to celebrate your marriage following a registry office or church service, where you will experience first class hospitality and dining.
Evening-only wedding reception hire is priced at £1900 and goes up to £2500 for an afternoon and evening celebration. This gives couples exclusive use of the Faulkner Room, the terrace area and the dance floor and allows up to 110 guests.
7. Surrey Downs Golf Club – Kingswood
If you’d prefer to say ‘I do’ in modern surroundings, then it’s worth checking out Surrey Downs Golf Club. This fully licensed venue is surrounded by acres of manicured land, much of which can be seen from the bright and airy Willow Suite where all ceremonies and receptions take place.
You can also enjoy the outdoors from the elegant patio area or balcony – the perfect place to share your first drink as newlyweds! Room hire for both a ceremony and reception in the Willow Suite comes in at £1140 for a Monday to Thursday wedding and wedding breakfasts start at £42.50 per person.

8. Glenmore House – Surbiton
Nestled in the conservation area of leafy Surbiton is this stunning example of late Georgian architecture. 9. Woodlands Park Hotel – Cobham
This magnificent 19th century mansion house has enjoyed a glamorous past, counting princes and A-listers among its regular guests in days gone by. These days the Woodlands Park Hotel throws open its doors to couples looking to wed in beautiful and luxurious surroundings that are truly fit for royalty.
This stunning hotel wedding venue can hosts parties of anywhere between 10 and 200, and the team are only too happy to help you plan the celebration you’ve been dreaming of. Packages start at £70 per person based on 40 guests which comes in at a rather thrifty £2800.

10. Russets Country House – Chiddingfold
Located on the Surrey/Sussex border in a stunning area of natural beauty, Russets Country House is the perfect pick for couples looking to escape the buzz of cities and towns and simply enjoy peaceful surroundings for the day. 13. Denbies Wine Estate – Dorking
Calling all wine connoisseurs! Don’t miss the chance to get hitched at England’s largest vineyard. Despite having a decidedly mediterranean feel, Denbies Wine Estate is nestled in the heart of the Surrey hills with spectacular views over Box Hill and the North Downs.
The Conservatory Atrium and Garden Room can be combined to seat anywhere between 80 and 400 guests and The Gallery Restaurant, with panoramic vineyard views, can seat between 30 and 60 guests. Packages here start at a pretty reasonable £75 per person.
14. Fiesta Fields – Various Locations

If a festival wedding sounds right up your street, then you’re going to want to check out Fiesta Fields, a collection of outdoor wedding venues located across Surrey. As totally outdoor venues, only humanist ceremonies and wedding receptions can be held at Fiesta Fields but there are a range of churches and registry offices within easy travelling distance of each site if you’d prefer a traditional ceremony first.
