We had a great time celebrating our big day here with family and friends. Nothing was too much trouble for the wedding coordinator and team here. Flexible and accommodating to meet the vision of our wedding.

We had our wedding at Guildford Manor in September 2025. We originally booked our wedding with Tessa, who it turned out was leaving, and then had two other event organisers before Sam took over the role. We were kept in the loop while these changes were happening but felt relieved once we knew Sam was staying for the rest of our planning process.

The planning was pretty straightforward and easy. Sam is great at listening to what you envision for your day and the venue is relatively flexible with what decorations you want etc. They worked well with our vendors and there are no complaints there. We also have some beautiful photos as the grounds are lovely.

Food- we had a lovely experience doing our tasting menu in their restaurant. My only wish would be that there was a smaller version of all dishes on offer rather than having to chose only two starter/main/dessert to try. Again fairly flexible as my husband wanted a different started to everyone else and this was happily accommodated. All our guests were very pleased with their meal on the day and all allergies etc were accommodated.

Generally communication was good, but could definitely improve. Until three days before the wedding we had planned to decorate on Friday evening for our Saturday wedding. It was only made known to us that there was now an event on the Friday evening because I asked to confirm what time we could start decorating. Business is business, but we should have been made aware sooner so I could have arranged some help for decoration the morning of the wedding rather than myself and my husband tag teaming with our wedding parties to get stuff done without seeing each other.

The rooms are pleasant but are in serious need of updating and the clean team need to improve.
Overall we had a lovely wedding and treasure the memories of our day fondly, however there are a number of things that have put a dampener on our day.

1. In the pink room (getting ready room) we asked for someone to come and clean the mirrors as they were dirty. We were met with a rather rude man who huffed at us when asked to wipe the mirrors as they had smudges on them.
2. My veil and straps to my dress went missing. They were placed on a table and were never seen again.
3. We had a puzzle as a guest book, where guests each signed a piece and we could then frame it as a treasured memory, along with a box that held the pieces that had the written piece inside. This vanished over night when the night clean up crew came in. I’ve sent the venue an image to show that these items cannot simply be ‘lost’ or ‘misplaced’ and all I had was a sorry which doesn’t really replace all the messages that were written to us by guests, that’s we’ll not get to see again.
4. As above, we also had 10 gold frames that were A5 size go missing overnight too. Again, too big to simply get lost or go missing and not show up.
5. We left our iron in the room by mistake and that have not be found despite it being a different make to what the hotel supply. Nor has any compensation been offered for any of the above items.
6. My cousin realised she left her necklace in her room when down at reception. When they went back up to ask the cleaner to go in and get it, it was knowhere to be seen and the cleaner says they never saw it which is rubbish in this instance.

So while we did have a good wedding, these things really put a dampener on the day as we can’t replace many of these items that hold sentimental value. I would like to add that Sam was a good events organiser and we thank him for all the time and patience he had while we fired all of our thoughts and questions at him.
However, I think this hotel holds higher value to whoever it is they hire to clean overnight than the customers that keep the hotel going. This isn’t the first review about items going missing or rude staff unfortunately. We also didn’t feel comfortable leaving our wedding cards downstairs and took them all up. I recently found out my maid of honour left her card loose on the table as it was too large for our postbox, however I never received a card from her, so this is another lost item.

While I would recommend Sam highly, I wouldn’t recommend the hotel for the reasons above.

Guildford Manor Hotel was a stunning location for our wedding. The grounds are impeccably maintained, and the outdoor area with jacuzzi and amazing views provided perfect photo opportunities throughout the day.

The wedding room itself was bright and airy with huge windows letting in beautiful natural light, and the breakfast room was simple, elegant and lovely.

Sam, our wedding coordinator, and his team were superb - really efficient and organized, which made everything run smoothly. We felt well looked after from start to finish.

To be completely honest, a couple of guest rooms weren't perfect - one had a blocked shower tray and another had a toilet that wasn't working. However, given the fantastic location, the beautiful setting, and the excellent service we received on the day, we're really happy with the value for money.

We'd definitely recommend Guildford Manor Hotel as a wedding venue - the positives far outweigh the minor negatives.

We got married at Guildford Manor in July and we had such an amazing day. We could not have asked for a better day. The venue is absolutely stunning and the staff were so lovely, responding to all of our needs. There were lots of behind the scenes aspects that I was not even aware of on the day as the team at the venue were so well versed in what they were doing it made the day run seamlessly. I was also impressed with how well they catered for dietary needs, ensuring all of our guests had what they needed. I would definitely recommend this venue for a wedding.

We were looked after by Sam from the wedding & events team and he was amazing. We had the best day and our guests all adored the venue and said it was one of the best weddings and venues they have ever attended!

The venue was one of our biggest stresses when booking our wedding day, but the team at Guildford Manor made the whole process so easy. Planning was efficient, we were given some clear dates and a timeline for decision making, and the venue took care of catering and table settings which was a load off our mind. They took on our feedback, and were responsive to how we wanted our day to look.

On our actual wedding day the team was responsive and orchestrated everything to the plan we had agreed. We didn't need to worry about a thing! The bride and bridesmaids had a bespoke room to get ready in, and we got married in the sunshine under a pavilion, which was incredible.

Would definitely recommend- it was a perfect day!

We just got home for our wedding on 5th July 2025 and had the most phenomenal time at Guildford Manor!! Wedding co-ordinator Susmit was extremely thorough and answered emails for months ahead of all the small details and in person visits. Venue is stunning in all areas, with incredibly spacious and gorgeous gardens for our games and photos, right by Newlands corner viewpoint, food was amazing quality and we just cried with happiness at how amazing our wedding was! We are so grateful to Guildford Manor for having our dream wedding!!

My wife and I recently got married here and it was fantastic Sam was brilllaint with helping on the day everything ran smoothly, plenty of space for everyone to drink outside and inside. The venue itself is well decorated and we loved the fact that the bar was on the edge of the dance floor along with the huge outside area. The food for the wedding breakfast was amazing and so many people said how nice it was, we had a hog roast in the evening as well and that didn't disappoint at all. We would definitely recommend here to any couple looking for a venue. Jess and Jason

I had my dream of fairytale wedding in June 2024.

The venue is so surreal ans stunning. The grounds provide the perfect backdrop and setting for wedding photos. Thee ground are huge and even have a Peacock on Grounds to add more flair.

The wedding events team were very kind, friendly, responsive and great to work with during the planning over the day.

Wow what can i say. This is venue has it all and made our day the most perfect day ever imaginable. From start to finish our wedding co-ordinator was fantastic and always on hand to help with last minute changes. The food was amazing and the rest of the hotel team were so helpful and kind to us and our guest!!! If i could give more stars i would!

We booked this venue for September this year after visiting the hotel. We met with the owner and her events manager and we were bowled over by the beautiful venue and their professionalism, that we booked immediately! Our events manager responds to all emails in a very timely manner and nothing is too much to ask... We cannot wait to hold our wedding here!

We have had nothing but excellent service from Ishika and her team, nothing has been too much trouble for her. From dietary requirements to ground floor accommodation to putting midnight snacks into our guests rooms. The whole set up has been so professional, quick response to my many emails. We were able to put out our chosen decorations the day before. On our day, breakfast was delivered promptly to my room, make up lady shown up, flower girls also. Ishika was always on hand, discretion at all times. Our ceremony went off smoothly, again under the watchful eye of Ishika, drinks and canapés served promptly. Our meal was 1st class so many comments on just how tasty it was. The room was transformed for the evening so smoothly, again under Ishika watchful eye. We had most of our families staying and without exception they all slept well in the comfy rooms, breakfast was a relaxing affair the following morning, no one felt rushed to check out. We will definitely be back and will 100% recommend this hotel and wedding venue.

We recently had our wedding back in September and had a fantastic day! Ishika the event organiser was perfect, responded to our questions quickly and ensured that our day went super smoothly and ran to time!
Food and wine was lovely and everyone and the venue was perfect for what we wanted.
The only comment I would say is that the bedrooms do need a slight update but other wise everything else was lovely.
