We had our wedding in July at Gradbach Mill. We had the most amazing day and the whole team at Gradbach couldn't do enough for us. Everyone is so kind and accommodating. Our guests enjoyed every bit and found the bedrooms to be very comfortable. Six weeks on and we are still raving about our wedding. People who have only seen photos have also said how great it looked. The location is stunning. The food is simply amazing and catered for many dietary requirements. This is a gem of a venue and we can't recommend it enough. Thank you again to all the team, you are just brilliant.

We fell in love with this venue as soon as we saw it, the price and location were fab and we also booked the cottage to continue our wedding celebrations. Jane was absolutely incredible, great communication and went above and beyond to make sure our day went smoothly. There is not a single thing we’d change from the day!

Where do we begin with the Cosy Club, Nottingham? Shelly was absolutely faultless in her support, time and attention to detail! From the first time we met Shelly, she understood the type of couple we were and what we wanted our wedding day to be…filled with love and laughter. The set up of the room was just idyllic and perfect and something we didn’t have to worry about as we trusted Shelly 100%. The food was outstanding with no complaints received! The Cosy Club offered that special vintage feel that both my husband and I absolutely love. Shelly had a plethora of supplier recommendations which we can say we utilised. If you’re looking for a venue with an extra special touch and great service, look no further!

We were so pleased with the communication and how accommodating they were throughout. It made the planning stress free and easy. All our needs were understood and met and the venue was perfect for our special day. I would definitely use the space for another event in the future.

We booked this venue back in July 2022 when they were still in the building stages, to some this would have seemed crazy as we weren't able to see the actual end product. We had complete faith in Vicky & Steve and we trusted their vision. All the way through they have been so accommodating, responded to messages at all hours and Vicky even scheduling a call when she was on holiday. No stone has been left unturned at this absolutely beautiful venue, everything is excellent quality and it really shines. Vicky and Steve were amazing with our suppliers; our florist was given access to the venue 2 days before the wedding which isn't a usual luxury! We used; Black Peppermint - Catering Lindsay Betts - Photography Bethany Rose Weddings - Co ordinator Josh Hyde - Videographer Clares Bespoke Flowers - Florist Dj Mark Green - DJ Cakes By Zoe Lincoln - Cake Rachel Bray - Make up Becky Welsh - Hair We cannot thank them enough for going above and beyond on our wedding day, everything ran like clockwork and it exceeded all of our expectations. Our wedding ceremony and reception were everything we could have hoped for! Leah organised our wedding for us and we can't thank her and her team enough for looking after us and making us feel very special. The Art Cafe was decorated for us so we did not have to worry about rushing around before the ceremony. We gave a few ideas about how we'd like the decorations to be set up but really it looked beautiful because of how Leah and her team arranged everything. The Conservatory plants looked so lush and our guests were able to admire the plants whilst waiting for the ceremony to begin. We had photos taken outside in the park with all our guests. The scenery looked really pretty and we did not feel on show or uncomfortable despite the park being public. We had plenty of time in the Art Cafe to eat and enjoy ourselves afterwards. Our ceremony was at 4pm and we left at 9pm. Our decorations and left over cake were packed safely for us to collect the next day. Our wedding caterers at another venue needed to cancel last minute. We contacted the Pavilion Gardens to ask if we could stay on at the venue for our reception and they were very accommodating regarding last minute changes, requesting vegan and gluten free options and organising our drinks reception to have non-alcoholic drinks in matching flutes so our guests who don't drink did not feel excluded. Thank you so much for everything. We have so many lovely, happy memories from our wedding 💚

From the moment we had our first viewing at Dunston Hall only a couple of months ago, we were absolutely blown away… the hall itself is absolutely breathtaking, the grounds are stunning, the garden ceremony room is absolutely beautiful and the newly refurbished stables is an incredible space! We were welcomed by Macaulay, Claire and Anna, who were truly amazing ladies! Nothing was too much trouble, they understood our vision and delivered above and beyond our expectations. Mark was also absolutely fantastic, we met Mark on the day and he became a familiar friendly face for our family and friends throughout the day, helping make sure our day was perfect! So many of our guests commented on how lovely the staff are, words really don’t do them justice! The hardest part was actually saying goodbye to the members of staff, they became a huge part of our journey and our experience would not have been the same without them. We were also so impressed with food, and received amazing feedback from our guests regarding the wedding breakfast and evening BBQ. The portion sizes were so generous, they even offered more bread for the soup, more gravy for the roast beef, they really looked after each and every one of us and catered for dietary requirements incredibly well too! From start to finish, Dunston Hall was perfect, I am so pleased I came across them, they really did create the most memorable day for us and our family. Thank you SO much, from the bottom of our hearts we are truly so grateful for you all ❤️

If you’re looking for a stress free, personal, intimate wedding day that is all about you then this is the perfect venue. I cannot emphasise how straightforward planning our day was with the help of the brilliant Niki Burne. Chris and Johnathan are the most helpful, generous and understanding hosts. We knew we were in safe hands from our first meeting but the care and attention that was provided to make sure that we and all our guests had the perfect day went beyond all our expectations. It was honestly like getting married in the beautiful home of some lovely friends. The Elm Tree is a glorious place, a stunning Georgian house with gorgeous gardens but the thing that really made it for us was the people behind it. It was the little things that really made the day extra special. The super quick turnaround from indoor to outdoor ceremony when the rain decided to stop half an hour before. My wedding flowers on the breakfast table the next day. Johnathan hiding behind a tree discreetly and expertly orchestrating our wedding soundtrack! and a palliative guest having the opportunity to go for a rest upstairs when things got too much. It really was the perfect day in the most perfect setting.

We got married at Torr Vale Mill in 2022 with around 120 guests, and all their hard work, along with the amazing venue itself, made our day (and the preparations for it) exactly as we envisioned yet simple and stress free. The venue itself is stunning, and provides a unique backdrop compared to hotels or converted barns that are common in the local area. In fact, our photographer may have been more excited to shoot there than we were! Not only do you have a great history to the venue that is very fitting of the local area, but it’s surrounded by natural views that create a relaxing environment and a variety of settings for photos. We also had some lovely feedback and compliments about the venue from all of our guests. Of course, the historical nature of the venue does mean there are some logistical limitations (such as no naked flames allowed, not scattering anything outside that can pollute the river, and a longer, more complex disabled/step free access route). However, it didn’t impact our plans at all, and the team were very transparent about it from the beginning and helped us find solutions where appropriate. In addition, while it may have the appearance of an older building, it has all the modern amenities you’d hope for inside, such as underfloor heating, modern bathrooms, a small kitchen area and a great AV set up, including speakers, microphones and a large TV, (without taking away from the character of the mill itself indoors). The accommodation on site is a good size, well furnished and decorated, and made housing our immediate family for the wedding really convenient, as well as providing the space for the bridal party to get ready on the day (with no excuse to be late, as it’s literally over the path from the event space!) While there weren’t a huge amount of other accommodation options nearby in New Mills for our whole guest list, there were multiple hotels at different price points within a 30 minutes drive that suited our 100+ guest list, which involved some extra organisation for pre-booked taxis and car sharing etc. The flexibility and personalisation options available at Torr Vale Mill were the main selling points for us, and with open communication from the beginning we were able to create the exact day we were hoping for. We were able to choose our own vendors (such as caterers), work the timeline exactly to our choosing, had flexibility in decorating the room, had access to a huge selection of furniture owned by the mill, and could tailor the bar to our needs. Throughout all of this, the team were always happy to discuss any ideas we had and worked with us to execute our vision. For example, we were able to hire two caterers for the day (one for the main meal and one for canapes/dessert); one of which had worked with Torr Vale before, and one that was a brand new vendor for them. The team at Torr Vale Mill communicated closely with both vendors in advance for set up plans and any relevant safety restrictions to ensure smooth delivery on the day, and the execution was flawless. In another example, they worked with us to tailor our plan for the bar all day (welcome drinks, speech drinks, substituting some drink brands for others, sourcing a special drinks request for the top table, and how host provided / guest purchased drinks were billed), and all at great value for money. Additionally, they offered a selection of extra items with transparent pricing, such as linens, extra staff members and decorations with no pressure to upsell, allowing us to choose only what we needed. The costs associated with Torr Vale Mill were perfect for our budget, and the ability to tailor add ons and bar tabs etc meant we only ever paid for what we needed with no unexpected bills at the end. Everything they offered was good value for money and entirely transparent, and we definitely felt we got our money’s worth. The team (and in particular Rob and Phillippa) were amazing to work with right from our first visit to the final bills being settled just after the wedding itself, and we can’t thank them enough! Their communication with us was regular and clear, but never overbearing or forceful, and their direct communication with our vendors was a massive help for us to ensure a smooth day without us feeling like unnecessary middle men in the logistics conversations. Their coordination support on the day, from making sure the caterers were set up correctly and the room was laid out/turned around as planned, all the way through to AV setup and announcing our couple’s entrance to the reception, made our day a breeze, and meant we had nothing to worry about. Plus, the other staff they had on hand both behind the bar and walking amongst the guests were professional yet friendly, creating a lovely environment. Overall we would absolutely recommend Torr Vale Mill as a wedding venue, and we were totally delighted with the day! From the staff to the built in bar, transparent planning sessions, vendor flexibility, on site accommodation and the stunning buildings themselves, we made the venue our own, with no additional stress and all within budget.

We just wanted to say a massive thank you to you and the team for everything you did for our wedding day, the place looked amazing, the tables were wonderful as was the food, the staff and service were exceptional and we have had so many compliments about you all from our guests - everyone wanted to know where we found you! We had such a wonderful, amazing wedding day which we could have done without you - thank you again.
