Begin your journey towards wedded bliss in this award-winning restaurant and boutique stay in the heart of the Peak District National Park. Offering charming reception spaces, exquisite dining, and luxury guestrooms, the team would love for you to celebrate your big day within their unique venue.
Facilities and Capacity
The restaurant at The Merchant's Yard is spread out over three floors, with space for all kinds of occasions. Boasting stone columns, stunning windows, and an enchanting courtyard, they can host up to 70 guests for a seated dinner and 120 for the dancing to follow. After the festivities, you and your new spouse are invited to spend your wedding night in one of their luxury bedrooms. Relax and bask in newlywed love in the comforts of a king-size bed, spacious ensuite bathroom, smart TV, and mini fridge. There are eight rooms available, so your nearest and dearest can enjoy the cosiness too. The following day, take the opportunity to discover local gems like Chatsworth House, amble around the quaint village, or take to nature and hike over the moors.

The talented chefs will design a delectable menu that will delight your palate. If you stay overnight, you will also get to indulge in a mouthwatering breakfast the following morning. The venue has a Civil Licence, enabling you to have your ceremony at the property before you wedding reception.

Absolute perfection!!
She took charge of communicating with our suppliers so we didn’t have to stress about timelines.
Over time we met Emma, Matt and the rest of the team who made us feel so welcome everytime we went for meetings.
Our day went so smoothly. Jo kept me relaxed as I was getting ready and the set up was amazing. The timing was perfect every member of staff worked like clock work and were so prepared for every aspect of the day. The food!!! The food is incredible and every single one of our guests said how amazing it was and there was empty plates for all our guests.
I could go on and on about how amazing this place is. From the decor, to the food, to the rooms and to the staff. From the bottom of our hearts thank you so much for making our day so special.
Our wedding at The Merchants yard
We had a very intimate private ceremony with just seven guests, and from the moment we arrived we were treated like absolute royalty. The team’s attention to detail, warmth, and professionalism were exceptional. Nothing felt too much trouble, and every aspect of the day was handled with genuine care and pride.
A special mention has to go to Jen, who mainly dealt with us throughout the planning and on the day itself. We genuinely cannot sing her praises enough. She was incredible from start to finish: calm, kind, attentive, and so organised. Jen made the entire process stress free and ensured everything ran seamlessly, allowing us to fully relax and enjoy our day.
The setting was beautiful, the food was outstanding, and the service was simply flawless. Our guests were blown away by how personal and special the experience felt, and we were able to enjoy every moment knowing we were in such capable hands.
Thank you to everyone at The Merchants Yard, and especially Jen, for making our wedding day unforgettable. It was more than we ever hoped for, and we will cherish the memories forever.
