Gradbach were absolutely amazing for our winter wedding.

Having most of our guests accommodated on-site for the whole weekend created such a lovely atmosphere, and we received nothing but compliments about both the venue and the food. Tam put together a completely vegan menu, and our guests were genuinely blown away by it. The vegan breakfasts were also a huge hit, especially the custard pastry. People were equally impressed by how well dietary requirements and allergies were catered for.

The location itself is stunning, and some of our guests really enjoyed taking walks in the surrounding area, which was a lovely bonus.

Colin and Imogen were endlessly responsive, friendly, helpful, and accommodating throughout the entire planning process, which made the experience so much less stressful and genuinely enjoyable.

We made the decision just the day before to move the ceremony indoors instead of using the marquee, and they handled everything flawlessly. We would definitely recommend Gradbach to anyone considering it for their wedding. I've had many guests tell me it was the nicest wedding they've been to!

Gradbach were absolutely fantastic through the six months of our wedding planning and on our wonderful weekend. Imogen was amazing at guiding us through this process and making sure that everything on the day was possible and ran smoothly. Tam, the amazing cook, made us a bespoke vegan Asian feast. Which everyone at the wedding absolutely devoured and loved. We also had vegan hotdogs as the evening snack, which although we were stuffed we managed to cram in. Colin also did a fantastic job saving us on the morning of the wedding when we accidentally set off the fire alarm and also making sure the set up in the gazebo was perfect.

We were lucky with the weather so had an outdoor ceremony, with a backup indoors if there was rain. We also had a bouncy castle in the field beside the venue and all sat around the fire pit late in the evening/morning, chatting and dancing after the DJ music had finished.

There were 49 of us in total at the wedding, and we all stayed on site, so spent the whole weekend celebrating together, which made the most beautiful atmosphere.

Waking up the day after the wedding and taking a walk up to Luds Church, was a beautiful way to wind down and relax with our friends and family. The scenic Peak District views were amazing to share on our first walk as a married couple.

We had our wedding here on 18th oct 2025 and I can honestly say it was the best weekend ever. We did the exclusively yours package so we had the whole venue to ourselves for the full weekend. The scenery is beautiful and everyone of our guests commented on how beautiful the venue was. Everything ran smoothly on our big day thanks to Colin and Imogen and all the staff here. Literally nothing went wrong and they couldn't do enough for you, they are so accommodating! The food is also incredible! We did pie and peas for our meal and pizza's for evening food and again everyone commented how lovely the food was. Also breakfast the next morning was a big hit too! I wish I could go back and do our big day again at this amazing venue! As the venue was ours for the weekend we got to spend quality time with all of our guests which at most weddings you don't get to do. So a huge thank you to all the staff at Gradbach mill for making our big day so special! If you're thinking about booking here just do it as I can tell you, you won't regret it!

We had our wedding at Gradbach Mill and it was amazing. The venue is beautiful and the team catered everything exactly how we wanted it.

They also had contingencies planned for the English weather as we wanted an ourdoor ceremony, and never made us feel like anything was too much work.

It was great value for money too, we booked the package that included some rooms for 3 nights.

Beautiful surroundings, we got married outside by the stream which was amazing, and the Mill itself is lovely as a venue for food, celebrating, and dancing.

The food was great - generous portions, all well cooked, and tasty. The cheesecake was such a hit with our guests!

Colin, Imogen and the team are great. They were very knowledgeable and relaxed, and their attention to detail was beyond what we'd expected.

We'd pick Gradbach Mill again, and will definitely return in future for an anniversary etc.

On site accommodation is spot on. The hottub at the Farmhouse is the biggest we've been in, and was incredible the day after the wedding to enjoy with family.

Right from the start, Colin, who leads the team at Gradbach Mill, extended a warm and professional welcome, with a cup of tea and comfy sofas as we sat back to discuss the start of our wedding plans.

We had idea in our head of a location that seemed to ask the impossible. In the Peak District, with a stream, woody glades, sunny fields, majestic peaks and family strolls - able to accommodate a private weekend event for all our treasured guests, nestled in nature but practical and accessible. When we found Gradbach Mill we knew immediately it was the location we were looking for. A short drive from a train station, and several taxi numbers available from Colin. There is ample parking for all guests.

The venue offers on-site exclusive accommodation for several different budgets and family sizes. For guests on a budget there's a gorgeous camping field right next to the main Mill with showers and toilets. For the wedding party there's a fabulous self-contained farmhouse -all en-suite, the top bedrooms spacious and wonderfully homely to allow the bride's party to get ready on the Big Day. The farmhouse has a massive fully equipped kitchen and wine fridge, a huge comfortable lounge with seating for large families, and a massive hot-tub and games room. A separate enclosed garden has outside seating and beautiful views towards the stream and forests. For families with babies and toddlers, the Miller’s self-catering cottage is safely gated and enclosed, and baby equipment provided. The beautiful architecture of the Mill is home to a dozen modern en-suite bedrooms upstairs, with a bar downstairs; perfect for the late-night dancers to keep the party going! In the adjacent function room, Colin allowed us to create our Star Wars themed dance floor for the evening 1970s-style disco and always had an inventive solution to our growing list of "creative" suggestions! Last minute tweaks to layout, decorations, sound and lights were all taken in his usual pragmatic and smiling way with no fuss.

Out of the delicious menu options, we chose the Mediterranean banquet. The chef was amazing; she met all the dietary requirements, and many guests declared it the best wedding meal they'd ever had. The catering team are clearly used to feeding hungry walkers on weekend hikes - no-one left with an empty stomach with enough incredible food overflowing on trestle tables to feed a mediterranean army. Colin allowed us to create the wedding dining room of our dreams. The sunlight shining through the beautiful windows illuminated the space, and the happy faces of our loved ones enjoying the beautiful meal.

We wanted our wedding ceremony to feel immersed in nature, so we chose to exchange vows serenaded by the stream, surrounded by stunning trees and the wonderful hills of the Peak District. Our guests were comfortably seated beside us under the oak canopy dressed in roses and fairy lights, creating a magical setting to become husband and wife, that felt so wonderfully "us."

The added gift of this venue is the ability to book it for multiple days. Our guests arrived on Friday with a bring n share supper, getting to know each other at the bar or in the Farmhouse before the wedding on Saturday. Some guests could come only for one night, and this booking flexibility was another great benefit Colin allowed us.

On the Sunday morning, after a substantial cooked breakfast from The Mill, we led our guests on one of the many gorgeous woodland walks, along an accessible path, along the sunlit stream and pine glades, past majestic beeches, up to Lud's Church - a secret magical wonderland in the forest. Then the afternoon was filled with relaxed time to paddle in the stream, play games in the meadow with a BBQ, before having an evening campfire in the designated firepit, playing guitars and toasting marshmallows.

It is a truly, exquisitely, amazingly unforgettable location to have for the most beautiful event in your life.

We got married at Gradbach Mill in June 2022! Gradbach is an absolutely awesome venue that we’ve gone back to several times already when celebrating other milestone birthdays and family gatherings. If you’re looking for a relaxed venue in the middle of absolutely stunning countryside, in nature, with lots of space to celebrate, a great amount of rooms for guests to stay in, absolutely delicious food and a fantastic team of professional, flexible and friendly people to manage the day on your behalf, then Gradbach is the venue for you! Gradbach has everything - the best team, the best food and best location!
On the morning of our wedding, we went for a run followed by a post run dip in the river, the groom’s party went off to three shires head and the bride’s party off to the roaches. We then got married outside by the river under a covered area and had our reception in a marquee set up in the field. We chose a rustic and very natural theme for our wedding, but the venue is such that it can accommodate all sorts of themes and tastes. All our guests told us it was the best wedding they’d ever been to - and we 100% agree with them!

Fantastic from start to finish. Colin, Tam, Imogen and the rest of the team at Gradbach are amazing, so friendly and accommodating and just fabulous people have running your special day. From the initial visit to the venue to the big day we could not have asked for anything more.

As soon as we stumbled across Gradbach Mill a little over a year ago, we knew this was the place we wanted to get married. It’s a beautiful location with lots of outdoor space and a relaxed feel. Colin and the team were fantastic: always friendly and helpful, allowed us to decorate the venue however we wanted, catered for multiple dietary requirements, gave us delicious, locally sourced food, and seamlessly sorted everything on the day. We and our guests had a fantastic day and our wedding was better than we could have hoped for. Would highly recommend!

The staff at Gradbach Mill were fantastic in every way! They ensured that everything ran like clockwork and were so incredibly helpful. We never had to ask for anything, the Gradbach Team are absolute professionals. All our guests raved about how much they enjoyed the food and everyone was very comfortable in their bedrooms. We loved every moment of our wedding and are so grateful to Colin, Imogen and Tam and the rest of team for everything they did to make it so special. I cannot recommend them highly enough. I cannot recommend Gradbach Mill enough for a wedding. We had the most unbelievable weekend celebrating our special day. The venue was incredibly idyllic, comprising a traditional 18th-century stone mill, beautifully converted for use for weddings. It is situated close to the River Dane, in an enclosed valley surrounded by stunning hills with luscious greenery. There are plenty of useable spaces at the mill; we got married next to beautiful timber canopy by the river, played rounders and welly wanging on the rear field, and had a firepit in the orchard. The site also had plenty of space for accommodation, with rooms in the mill, a cottage to the back, and a large farmhouse.
Colin and the team at Gradbach had been absolutely super from start to finish. They were outgoing, flexible, and reliable, and catered to our every want and need. The team have cultivated a wonderfully warm and friendly atmosphere at the mill. They made sure we had no stresses on the day. The food was also phenomenal. We had a mediterranean buffet on the Friday night (which I didn’t think could be topped), followed by a selection of dreamy pies for the main meal on the day, and pizza in the evening.
We will remember our wedding weekend at Gradbach for the rest of our lives, and will be back every year to spend more time in this special place.

The setting is beautiful and peaceful. We felt that the location made our Wedding feel relaxed, simple and tasteful.
The Mill, farmhouse and cottage provide high standard accommodation for guests and the main hall in the Mill provided a great area to have our Wedding reception.
It was great fun to make the space our own by doing bespoke decorations, and floral pieces.
Tam, the chef and her team provided really excellent vegetarian dishes and delicious desserts and all our guests raved about the food!

We had our wedding in July at Gradbach Mill. We had the most amazing day and the whole team at Gradbach couldn't do enough for us. Everyone is so kind and accommodating. Our guests enjoyed every bit and found the bedrooms to be very comfortable. Six weeks on and we are still raving about our wedding. People who have only seen photos have also said how great it looked. The location is stunning. The food is simply amazing and catered for many dietary requirements. This is a gem of a venue and we can't recommend it enough. Thank you again to all the team, you are just brilliant.
