Hurt Arms wedding

We got married at The Hurt Arms in 2022 and couldn't have asked for a better experience or a more wonderful wedding day! Organising our day was completely stress free. The team were easy to communicate with and our wedding coordinator was very helpful and answered emails promptly.
Everything ran smoothly on the day and we could relax and enjoy our wedding knowing everything was taken care of.

The venue is beautiful, both indoors and out. It had a rustic feel to it which we loved. Everyone really enjoyed the food, especially the hog roast in the evening.

The price was incredibly reasonable for the quality and service we received. We'd highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a beautiful, well-run, and affordable place to get married! We feel very lucky!

Wonderful wedding day

What a fabulous day! Everything from booking, to the day was exceptionally well organised. There were a range of packages to choose from (varying in prices, with deals alongside). Our wedding coordinator and all other staff on the day were very professional and went above and beyond for us and our guests. The meal was delicious, with fantastic quality food and plentiful portions. It was the most magical day and such a beautiful venue for photos. 10/10 recommend.

Wedding December 2020

We had a Covid wedding at the Hurt Arms in December 2020. We were allowed 15 people present ourselves included and we would not change a thing about the day.

We had the venue decorated by Gemma White Weddings and Events which were recommended by the venue at one of their open days and she fulfilled the look we were going for along with our florist.

The organising and planning was great and helped us step by step with exactly what we wanted. We also planned a 1 year anniversary party for the wedding reception a year later at The Hurt Arms as we were under Covid restrictions on the day its self.

After the ceremony we went to the Belper River Gardens for some more photos with our photographer which were great and a couple minutes away by car.

Ultimately our wedding was everything we wanted and even if we were to plan it without Covid now I don’t think we’d change a thing!

The most perfect venue

We held our wedding reception at the Hurt Arms back in July 2021 as we were just coming out of lock down. Despite a few restrictions that were still in place, we were lucky enough to hold the event outside due to the weather being stunning. Even our live band was able to play outside and the Hurt Arms catered a delicious hog roast!
The staff at the Hurt Arms were truly amazing and Mia was the most incredible co-ordinator, ensuring that everything was perfect on the day and I didn't need to worry about a thing. We both felt in such good hands and the venue is just beautiful and full of rustic charm.
Anyone thinking of getting married here would not be disappointed!

Amazing! Would 100% recommend

We got married at The Hurt Arms in August 2023. We were over the moon with the overall service from the start of the planning to the wedding day. Biggest positives were the value for money for what we got we were thrilled! The food was absolutely amazing. The venue was so flexible with us and let us have what we wanted and made sure they made everything work for us. The staff on the day were so attentive, and they did so many things in the background to make our day run smoothly. The venue was exactly what we wanted for our day, small, local, intimate, rustic! We would 100% recommend the venue to any couples thinking of getting married here ❤️

Unique and attentive wedding venue

We were so happy with our choice of The Hurt Arms as our wedding venue. We honestly couldn't have asked for anything more, from the initial meeting with our wedding coordinator right up until the big day itself. We were given complete free reign over designing our day, and everything turned out perfectly. The value for money at this venue is insane, and we instantly fell in love with the unique look of the venue. We had the most perfect day and a huge thanks to The Hurt Arms team for making it so special!

The most beautiful incredible wedding venue with amazing food and staff that can’t do enough for your special day!

The Hurt Arms was the first and only wedding venue we visited - we fell in love immediately.

Let’s talk money first. We had a modest budget of £10k for EVERYTHING, and our day at The Hurt Arms fit comfortably within that. They were very transparent about pricing with all of their brochures stating options and prices with no hidden extras and also no pressure to spend more with them.

The planning and booking process was incredibly easy and stress-free. Even with a change of wedding co-ordinator, they answered every panicked and stressy email quickly and professionally. We had plenty of meetings and contact throughout the year of our planning.

The day went completely to plan. From the minute I got out of the car, my wedding co-ordinator was there and she made she everything went smoothly. The staff couldn’t do enough for us. The food. Can we just!!! Best food I’ve ever had at a wedding if I do say so myself! It’s such a beautiful incredible wedding venue and I would recommend to anyone - I’m so excited they’re reopening so we can go for anniversary meals and stays there like we’d planned to!

Smith Wedding 2019

We had our Wedding Reception at The Hurt Arms in September 2019.
After looking at around 4-5 other places once we’d seen the Hurt Arms there was only one choice.
We had the most incredible night! We chose the BBQ for food and an Ice Cream Cart for afters and everything was absolutely delicious.
The team at The Hurt Arms were incredible and made the night go so smoothly. The private outdoor area was gorgeous and we were SO blessed with the weather. We stayed overnight in the Honeymoon Suite which was just beautiful. The cherry on top of the cake for us had to be that our Dog was allowed at the Reception too! Thank you to the Hurt Arms for a night we and our family and friends will remember forever!

The most perfect day!

We got married at The Hurt Arms back in 2018 and honestly, we couldn’t have asked for a better day. Everything was just perfect from start to finish. The size of the room was spot on — it felt so cosy and everyone was together the whole time, which made for such a lovely atmosphere.

The team were amazing and made sure the whole day ran smoothly. We didn’t have to worry about a thing, they had everything completely under control. The food was incredible too — so many of our guests commented on how delicious it was!

We genuinely wouldn’t have changed a single thing. It was everything we hoped for and more, and we still talk about how perfect it was. If you’re thinking about getting married here, do it — you won’t regret it!

Our wedding at The Hurt Arms - August 2019

We got married at The Hurt Arms in August 2019 and had the most lovely experience and still recommend the venue to other couples 6 years on! (Super happy for the reopening after the floods so other couples can experience what we did!) We were assigned a planner and she helped us from the first viewing right the way through all the planning and on the day she was great along with all the other staff, nothing was too much trouble. We got married for an offer price that was totally within our budget, but nothing was compromised on - it was all perfect. The venue is a modern- industrial feel which is exactly the decor I was looking for, but it still has the cosy feel too! The food was really tasty and we received lovely comments on the food from the wedding guests. The overnight stay was really nice, rooms all nicely decorated with a freestanding bath tub in the bathroom which was lovely, and the breakfast in the morning was nice too. Thanks so much for hosting our special day!

Our wedding. Our style

From the second we walked in, we knew the Hurt Arms was the place for us. A familiar homely feeling in a gorgeous building.

Before we booked we had to try the food....we are foodies after all! That sealed the deal. Beautiful food. A unique presentation and content. None of the standard chicken with veg, and small plates dessert. It was wholesome, hearty and even with the big appetites of our attendees there were a few happy doggies that evening!

The organiser was amazing. The day ran smoothly. It was everything we wanted and more. It rained so we didn't manage the outdoor games and fun we wanted but apparently it's good luck!

Our friends and family still rave about the venue and food, and we married in 2019.

Second to none! We revisit ever time we can.

From panic to perfection in six weeks flat!

Like many couples, we played a thrilling game of “rearrange the wedding” — several times — thanks to those delightful isolation surprises. When our original venue couldn’t fit us in for our new date, we were heartbroken and honestly thought all hope was lost.

Enter The Hurt Arms, our fairy godmother in pub form. In just six weeks (yes, six!), we went from despair to “wedding of the year” — and that’s not just us saying it, every guest agreed! From the moment we arrived, the staff and our incredible wedding coordinator made everything feel effortless. The night before, the service, the atmosphere — perfection from start to finish.

We’re now so glad our first venue fell through, because nothing could have topped this. The team didn’t just help us pull off a miracle; they joined in on the silly dancing too — and honestly, that meant the world. ❤️

If you’re wondering whether to book your wedding here, do it. We can’t recommend The Hurt Arms enough — they turned our chaos into magic.

Thank you for the best wedding day possible.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

We cannot recommend the Hurt Arms highly enough! From start to finish, the service was absolutely incredible. The team and planners went above and beyond to make our wedding day everything we had dreamed of — and more. Every detail was handled with such care and professionalism, and they made the whole process so stress-free and enjoyable.

The venue itself was stunning, but what truly made the experience special was the staff’s dedication to making sure every moment was perfect. Our guests couldn’t stop talking about how beautiful everything was and how smoothly the day ran.

Thank you to the entire team for making our day so unforgettable — you truly made our dream wedding come to life! 💕

The most perfect wedding day!

From booking right through to the day, I really can’t think of a bad word to say. Our day was absolutely perfect and the Hurt Arms was the perfect backdrop for that day.

I was initially a little unsure about having the venue attached to a pub but you honestly wouldn’t even know a pub was there. You really do feel locked off in your own area, plus the added bonus of the gorgeous private garden and outdoor space. From the second I walked in, I knew the intimate space and decor matched the vision I had in my head.

The value for money was insane. I still can’t believe we got our perfect day for a fraction of what other bigger venues were charging. Saying that, although the value for money was exceptional, the quality of food or service far exceeding the cost.

They gave me access to the Tollgate Suite the evening before to get everything set up for the day which was a huge bonus and a massive help to me as a DIY bride. On the day everything ran like clockwork. I didn’t have to think about a thing - it was just in place and done. For food, we opted for canapés and then a sit down roast dinner and for anyone who has eaten at the Hurt Arms will know, the food is always exceptional. Our guests raved about it and still to this day mention how good it was. We have some fussy eaters in the group but no special request was too much. In the evening we had a BBQ which went down a treat

It was truly the perfect day that I wish I could relive! You’re making a great choice by picking the Hurt Arms!
