Hi there - I'm Alex, a wedding photographer based in East Sussex and I love travelling throughout the south of the UK including Surrey, Hampshire, Kent and beyond to capture memories and moments that make weddings absolutely unique!
I have been capturing weddings for 10 years and it is my absolute passion, meeting new people and capturing the story of each and every wedding day, I love capturing them in a natural and relaxed way, no awkward posing and lots of creative moments throughout!
I want you both to feel at ease throughout your day, my approach and style is for people to see me more like a guest with a camera so you get awesome candid natural moments and beautiful portraits of you both!

Together we will capture every magical moment of your day,from the morning prep until after the crazy dance moves on the dance floor!
All of my packages include:
Pre Wedding Consultation (face to face/video or phone calls depending on convenience)
Full day coverage - no need to worry about how many hours to book! Typically 3 hours before your ceremony until 2 hours after your first dance
Photo teasers within 48 hours (a chance to see one of you wow photos soon after your wedding day
500+ edited photographs provided in high resolution format via digital download
Online password protected gallery to allow you and your family and friends to view all of your photographs and order prints, canvas, acrylic and printed products.(Includes a complimentary print credit)
Curated slideshow telling the story of your day from the best photos
Full license to download, print, and share all your photos

The best wedding photographer out there!!
If you’re looking for a photographer for your big day then stop scrolling as you need not look any further!! I honestly can’t recommend Alex highly enough!
From start to finish I loved how relaxed he made my now husband and I feel- we’re both not the most comfortable when it comes to photos/posing, but we forgot we were being photographed half the time. Plus the couples photos session we had was actually a period we really cherished during the day, as it really gave us space to breathe and was one of the most intimate times we shared together on the big day!
The photos Alex captured are truly stunning and he is so flexible, working around your timelines so you can enjoy as much of your day as possible whilst still getting the most beautiful photos which capture all the emotions of your day.
We also loved how passionate Alex is about his job and it was delight to see him in action and doing what he loves! His energy and enthusiasm carried through the entire day and made our day truly magical!

The best photographer!
Alex was absolutely incredible on our wedding day, I could not recommend him more to future couples! Very warm and friendly, prompt and on time and also worked way into the evening just to get us the perfect fireworks shots. We had fab feedback from all our guests on how hard working Alex was, he was always everywhere snapping everything but in a very non intrusive way. Definitely book Alex for your upcoming wedding, you won't regret it! :)

Brilliant photographer!
Alex is an absolutely fantastic photographer who would be a brilliant addition to any wedding or event.
We first met with Alex at a café in Feb 2020 where he filled us with excitement talking through the plans for our wedding, highlighting his previous work and really filling us with confidence that he would be the best fit for our wedding. At that point we had no idea what would hit us when COVID changed everything! We never could have imagined how important having someone who was the right fit for us would be. Planning a COVID wedding was naturally an incredibly stressful process but Alex couldn’t have gone any further in helping, remaining flexible providing advice, guidance and generally being an incredibly reassuring ear! When we finally managed to get married in between lockdowns we couldn’t have been more lucky to have Alex there with us. Not only does the quality of his work speak for itself but it felt like among the 13 guests we had there was another friend there. Through his pictures (and his help in bringing in Paul from Buton media as a videographer) we were able to share our wedding day with all our friends and family, even if it wasn’t in quite the way we had planned.
Fast forward a couple of years and we finally managed to hold our wedding ‘reception’ to celebrate our marriage. There was never any doubt that Alex would be there, capturing the moment just as he had done during the main wedding. Alex demonstrated not only can he deliver in small intimate weddings but he’s brilliant at capturing the story and feeling of a large scale celebration too. The photos from both our wedding and celebration are absolutely spectacular but don’t take my word for it – Alex is constantly winning awards for his photos they’re that good!
If you’re currently hunting for a wedding photographer we honestly couldn’t recommend Alex highly enough. You won’t be disappointed!

Alex photographed our wedding in April 2022. He took the time to get to know us, he put us at ease, and he was just the perfect photographer on the day. He got some great shots and we barely noticed he was there (which is what you want on your wedding day)

You’ve found your photographer
As a newly married couple we know how tiring it can be finding the right wedding suppliers - but if we can give one piece of advice it would be that Alex was absolutely brilliant and you’ll be so glad you booked him to do your photos.
We were first drawn to his work because my husband was getting married in uniform and we knew he would have an eye for all the special military traditions. Even better Alex was super attentive and really captured the natural shots and light we’d been hoping for. They’re gorgeous!
From the very beginning Alex was super professional, setting up a Zoom to meet us and guiding us through the process. Not only that, he maintained contact leading up to the big day, was always on hand to answer questions and even timed his emails to prompt us for key information at the right time so we didn’t get overwhelmed. Super impressive!
On the wedding day itself Alex arrived without fuss, bringing a calm energy while myself and my bridesmaids got ready. He knew exactly where to be all day, blending in with our guests to capture natural joyful shots - you can see the gorgeous results on his Instagram and web pages.

We would 100% recommend Alex Buckland to anyone looking for a wedding photographer! He was a dream to work with for both our pre-wedding and wedding shoots, incredibly respectful to us and our guests, and produced the most outstanding wedding photos (couple, individual, group, and candid shots)!!

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL Photographs
Our dream was to have the joy of our day captured in photos of our guests and that is exactly what Alex provided. We LOVE the photographs of our family and friends laughing, crying, smiling, hugging, dancing. Looking at the photos brings the whole day flooding back.
Alex was professional and kind through the whole process, and made a special effort to make sure that we got the photos we were looking for. He listened really carefully to our requests and we are delighted with the results.
A key thing for us what not having the day dominated by photography, and instead to have some short periods of posed photos with the majority as candids, and Alex was absolutely brilliant and blending into the background so that day flowed naturally, while still getting beautiful shots. He also got lots of shots of our special details (home made decorations, flowers etc), which makes the memories last forever.

Amazing photographer
I can’t recommend Alex enough, he was so enthusiastic and professional throughout first meeting him to the actual wedding day. He went out of his way to meet us for a ‘coffee chat’ just to put our minds at ease and to get used to the camera. He is a genuine guy and takes such great photos!! Wouldn’t have wanted anyone else to be our photographer for our wedding.

Gifted photographer who gives 110%
Alex is simply brilliant as a photographer. My wife, Fiona, and I asked him to take photographs for us at a pre-wedding shoot following our engagement and at the wedding itself. He instantly put us at ease, was creative throughout and gave 110% during our wedding to capture as many of our special moments as possible.
I wholeheartedly recommend him as a wedding photographer and am hugely grateful for all his effort, and support, on our wedding day.

Amazing Wedding Photographer
Alex is everything you could hope for in your wedding photographer. He took the most amazing photos and he was so helpful throughout the day. He made us feel at ease in our pre-wedding shoot when we were both nervous and on the day itself. We will definitely be recommending Alex to everyone in the future!

Perfectly captured the emotions and joy from the day
From our first contact with Alex, he showed such enthusiasm and excitement for our wedding, especially as he had not shot at our venue before, it made our wedding feel special to him as well as to us.
He was great at communicating and catching up with us regularly, and was very responsive to any questions or queries we had. We chose to go with Alex due to how he documents the day, his photos are very natural and not photoshopped.
We are not very natural at having our photo taken and Alex softly guided us through the day without forcing us into uncomfortable positions/poses or situations.
During the day Alex skilfully blended into the background and we had many compliments as to how unobtrusive he was, but still managed to capture so many special moments with some amusing photos. We ended up with even more photos that we could have wished for, capturing everyone’s smiles and emotions as the day unfolded.
Very happy with our photos and would happily recommend to anyone looking for a more relaxed documentary style of photographer who is a genuine and nice guy!
