Share your first kiss in The Glasshouse, your first dance in The Farmshed and your first night in The Master Suite in Syrencot House. This secluded country estate is where love stories are made.
Your experience begins in the private Billiard Room, where you’ll get ready with your nearest and dearest. This light and airy space sets the scene for charming preparation photos thanks to its vaulted ceiling and character windows. You’ll even have the luxury of your own private front door. From here, only a picturesque stroll through the gardens separates you from your ceremony, coupling calmness with excitement in perfect harmony.
Wander into the Walled Garden; a quintessentially English haven that will delight all the senses. Landscaped to give a sense of days gone by, birdsong fills the air and meadow grass sways in the breeze in this rural idyll. Step into The Glasshouse to say ‘I do’ to the love of your life in front of your nearest and dearest. Blousy blooms and wild orchids fill the summertime garden with romance, while twinkling stems and frozen berries create a wonderland in winter. In every season, Syrencot is the perfect place in which to marry.
The purpose-built Farmshed sets the scene for a chic celebration at Syrencot. Savour a fine dining wedding breakfast, expertly created by the on-site catering team, spill out onto the secluded terrace to raise a toast and then dance the night away back inside the atmospheric barn. Imaginatively designed to combine elements of the agricultural surroundings with a stunning contemporary look and feel, The Farmshed is a unique and unforgettable place to celebrate. In the colder months, light the central fireplace and set a relaxed and inviting atmosphere for your reception.
As day turns to dusk, gather your guests in a cosy corner of the Walled Garden beside the restored Pump House. Reborn with a barbecue and wood-fired pizza oven, take a seat, chill out with friends and tuck into a flame-cooked feast around the fire bowl. Sociable, alfresco dining that is perfectly timed, perfectly cooked and perfectly placed – it’s an experience your guests will never forget.
When all the dancing is done, retreat into the elegant confines of Syrencot House – with 12 bedrooms, there’s plenty of space for guests to stay. After saying goodnight, ascend your own private staircase to The Master Suite, where unbounded luxury awaits. Dream the night away in a plush bed, soak in the free-standing bath and wake to a wonderful view over the gardens. Thank you for making our wedding day incredible
We had the most amazing wedding at Syrencot in September. We could not fault the organisation and impeccable attention to detail from the team onsite. Sophie and Katie were always available to answer any questions and offer advice throughout the lead up to our wedding.Sent on 21/11/2019
The food and service on the day was outstanding and our guests could not stop talking about the delicious fillet of beef all day!
Thank you Syrencot for making our wedding day incredible.

Disgusted at what we received!
Do not be fooled by the stunning setting that is syrencot.Sent on 17/08/2021
I’ve worked in hospitality for the last 13 years and I’ve never come across such rude and obnoxious staff like syrencots.
Firstly the general manager Katie promised us many things that was then changed nearer to the date, they’ll make it sound like you can have anything you want because you’re paying for it, UNTIL THEY GET YOUR MONEY, then everything changes and the typical ‘I wouldn’t of agreed that’ comments come out.
They lost a whole table worth of decorations and favours which had to be picked up by my wife and I after the ceremony, not once was this picked up by a member of staff. To then be told it was the bridesmaids fault that it went missing.
Cat is another member of staff there that actually made my wife cry at the end of the night, she is rude, quite aggressive and genuinely really poor at organisation.
There was an altercation regarding the microphone that because the food service was so slow we were running over our evening reception, so when I went to ask Cat for the microphone so we could start the speeches, she grabbed the microphone and pulled it away from me and said “NO, WE’RE GETTING RECEPTION DRINKS OUT” this wouldn’t of impacted at all as I knew the first speech was going to take a while. My wife then was livid at this point so went and took the microphone, this wasn’t Cats place to dictate when we done our speeches, she then shouted at my wife as she walked back to the top table quite aggressively.
This led to a complaint being made to the ops manager Matthew Wilson, who believe me is one of the most arrogant men I’ve ever come across. He out right called my wife and I a liar and said these recollection of events didn’t happen. I shall be posting the email on my social media’s to show how disgusting this man has dealt with the whole situation.
Not at one point in the whole day did any member of staff come and communicate with my wife and I about the first dance/ cake cut/ evening food let alone ask how our day was going or if they could assist in anyway.
Cat also made the DJ cut the music off MID SONG at 11:30 on the dot when we were told by Katie that everything would finish at midnight. Our guests were left confused and this is when Cat spoke extremely rudely to my wife which in turn caused her to finish her wedding night in tears.
As you can see from their brochure the prices are far from cheap. However I’ve actually had a better service at a travelodge breakfast bar. Regardless of this, credit to the chefs as the food was great.
Following up from our wedding we felt it was justified we were due a partial refund on the loss of our evening entertainment and the lack of service we received on the day, however Matthew Wilson saw it fit to offer us a ‘good will hamper’ because of ‘how we felt’ with not an apology in sight… absolutely appalling. We’d had many problems up to our wedding day with members of syrencot staff. We were reassured by Matthew that our day would run smoothly. It didn’t.
Overall we’re so disappointed with how the venue has tainted which should be one of the best days of our life. We have to live with these memories now, so if we can warn any future brides and grooms about their horrendous lack of customer care then I feel justice will be done.
Avoid at all costs, take your hard earned money elsewhere!

Avoid! - incredibly poor service
Up until the point of taking our money they were great, however everything after this has been disappointing and incredibly poor serviceSent on 11/08/2021
- Slow responses with over 2 week time delays, when we complained they said “they were busy doing weddings”
- When responses were received they were rude and blunt
- We were told during uncertain times that we were not a priority as other weddings were before us, this continued up to a month before the wedding.
On the day
- The Venue lost a whole box of our table favours and decorations. Which they left incomplete until we identified to them.
- The service was incredibly slow pushing our whole day back over an hour and half meaning we lost evening entertainment time. We tried to speed the speeches along which should of happened over the desserts however the venue refused on several occasions to give the groom the microphone for the speeches, this resulted in me (bride) having to grab the mic from the bar and having the manager of venue shout at me in front of my guests
- They completely disregarded our planning sheet they asked us to complete
- At the end of the night they turned our DJ off mid song, half an hour earlier than they had agreed. When questioning them on this they resulted in getting defensive and again rude.
- The whole day was completely disorganised and resulted in me in tears due to the rudeness of staff and areas of let down.
Yes the venue is beautiful and food was great, but for the amount you pay and the service and stress you will get I would recommend avoiding.
