Two photographers, one story.
Bowden’s Photography is Alex and his dad Steve, a father and son wedding team based in Newport, South Wales. They work together at every wedding, which means two angles on every moment and nothing missed.
Meet Alex and Steve
Alex’s style is light, airy and vibrant, with a touch of artistry when the moment calls for it. He loves golden hour and will happily chase the last of the light for your portraits. Steve’s style is classic and natural. He moves quietly among your guests, catching the hugs, the laughter and the real atmosphere of the day. Together they tell the whole story, not just the parts in front of the camera.
On the day
Their approach is relaxed and documentary. Rather than turning your wedding into a photoshoot, they blend into the background and gently guide when needed, so you can enjoy your day while they take care of the memories. From the nerves while getting ready and the tear during your vows to the loudest laugh on the dance floor, your gallery will feel just like the day itself.

Packages
They offer four packages, each with two photographers as standard:
- Ceremony: the ceremony, group and couple photos, up to 3 hours, 300 photos
- Silver: ceremony to first dance, up to 8 hours, 600 photos
- Gold: morning preparations to first dance, up to 12 hours, 800 photos
- Premium: morning preparations to the evening party, with Evening Coverage and a 3 to 5 minute cinematic highlights video included, 1,000 photos
Every package also includes a Sneak Peek Gallery within 7 days, Alex’s signature black and white edits, a private online gallery with download and print rights, a pre wedding consultation, and travel and expenses. Optional extras include Evening Coverage, a highlights video, a pre wedding shoot, an extra hour and a Full Gallery Unlock.
Where they cover
Based in Merthyr Tydfil, they cover South and West Wales, Monmouthshire, Gloucestershire, the Cotswolds, Bristol and Somerset, and can travel further across the UK on request.

How far in advance should I contact you?
We’re flexible book months ahead or even a week before if we’re free. Share your date and venue and we’ll confirm quickly. Peak summer fills fast, so earlier is best. Weekday dates are often available
Do you cover more than one wedding a day?

Yes, we cover South & West Wales, Monmouthshire, Gloucestershire, Bristol, Somerset and areas. We also travel across the UK on request—tell us where and we’ll be happy to discuss. Travel fee may apply too

We shoot as a two-photographer team at no extra cost, capturing natural moments from multiple angles. Our relaxed documentary style blends candid storytelling with creative portraits all day
What kind of equipment do you use?
Alex shoots on two Sony mirrorless bodies with fast primes/zooms; Steve uses two Nikon DSLRs. We carry backups, flashes and spare gear for highlights video, giving reliable, versatile coverage

Yes, private, password protected online collection via our Website which is powered by Pixieset
What's the delivery time for a photographic report?

How do you charge extra time?
An extra hour is £100. For the evening, our Evening Coverage adds 2 hours after the first dance plus 200 extra photos for £250, and it comes included with our Premium Package
What are the forms of payment?
Card payment online through our invoicing system. Interest free payment plans are available, so you can spread the cost before the wedding
How do you work?
Relaxed and unobtrusive. We capture the day as it naturally unfolds, give light direction for portraits and groups, and work as two photographers for dual angles. We plan timings with you in advance

Elan Valley Dam Wedding
Alex was fantastic from start to finish. From the first time I spoke to him, I knew he just understood what I wanted from the day. We had an intimate wedding, with 4 guests and our 2 dogs, in the Elan Valley, and on the day Alex was brilliant, and made us both feel at ease.
And WOW the photos we have had back are just amazing, they've given us memories that we'll treasure for years to come. We would highly recommend Bowdens Photography to anyone looking for a photographer to capture their special day - honestly we could not fault him. My partner isn't a massive fan of having photos, and he loves them that much he wants to order a photobook - which says it all!

Professional, Friendly and all out great guys!
Alex and Steve were absolutely amazing.
We seen their work online and social media and knew they were the right photographers for us so arranged an initial call with Alex.
He answered all our questions we had and made us feel at ease which just made us know they were the ones for our magical day so we hired them.
Alex kept in contact every step of the way to the lead up to our big day and was always only just a phone call, email or WhatsApp away which made things a lot easier.
On the day we met Steve, Alex’s dad for the first time and what an amazing duo they both were. We are extremely pleased with their work and they are both very professional, friendly and all out good guys.
They got all the photos we wanted plus with their expertise many many more.
All our guest complimented on how good they were and how they felt they were just another part of the wedding and not there just to do a job which was amazing to hear as me and the wife thought exactly the same.

The perfect duo to capture your day
We couldn't be happier that we decided to go with Alex and Steve to capture our special day.
From the start their communication was great, Alex went through everything with us and answered all the questions we had. No request was to much.
Before the big day Alex made sure he had all the Information he needed in regards to certain photos we wanted including group photos, golden hour photos etc.
On the day both Alex and Steve went above and beyond for us and not just with the photography they helped out in every way they could, Including helping myself with getting a bit of blood off my collar and the groomsmen with their buttonholes they done everything they could to help make our day perfect.
They made sure to capture every moment throughout the day especially all the important smaller details that we didn't even think about, they made sure to get plenty of natural photos of the day as well.
They fulfilled every request we had in regards to certains pictures we wanted and they made sure they capture everything we wanted before they left.
All of our guest have mentioned how nice both Alex and Steve were and how friendly and talkative they were with every single guest there. They were a huge part of our day and we couldn't have done it without them.
The value for money Especially with having both Alex and Steve is second to none.
If you're considering booking Bowdens photography it will be a decision you won't regret and easily the best decision you could make when it comes to capturing your special day.

You won't be disappointed
We had Alex and Steve photpgraph our wedding in July . From start to finish we were impressed. The communication was fantastic and Alex walked us through what to expect on the morning and wanted to know exactly what we wanted from our day. Theyre very reasonably priced too!
When they arrived we unfortunately had a power cut but they didn't hang around getting stuck in. Alex and Steve are both wonderful people. They are kind and friendly and supportive . They have a vision and when you get the sneak peeks back as we did recently they certainly know what theyre doing. Theyre magical and beautiful pictures for us to cherish forever and I can hardly wait to see the rest!

Professional and friendly pair!
From start to finish we have been so incredibly happy with the choice we made for Alex and Steve to be our wedding photographers! They were extremely helpful and kind making sure we got every photo. We loved all the sneak peek photos and were amazed by the volume of photos and memories we now have of our special day. We also went for the wedding video which turned out brilliant! Pick them if you want a pair of a pure friendly guys who have a real eye for some wonderful pictures.

Father & Son photography duo
We found Bowdens Photography from Bark and felt that Alex and Steve stood out from the other recommendations. Booking was easy and Alex kept in touch throughout the process with consultations explaining what would happen on our big day! What can we say? They were brilliant from the minute they arrived at our home for the getting ready shots right through to the evening party! Alex and Steve made us feel so comfortable and interacted with all our guests. Absolutely stunning photos
We are absolutely thrilled with our wedding photos and cannot recommend Alex and Steve enough.
They are such lovely people and really helped everyone relax when having their photos taken.
They somehow managed to capture every smile, happy tear and belly laugh from the whole day and really captured all the happy memories.
They were so professional, kept us on our timeline while still capturing candid shots and were up for going out in the golf carts on multiple occasions to capture some of the most stunning photos in different locations.

Don’t Consider Anyone Else
We chose Alex and Steve for our wedding and they were absolutely brilliant. They were helpful and most accommodating with our requests, travelling a short way with us after our ceremony for photos on the bridge, giving useful suggestions for our order of the day, and even lending a hand cueing people at the right times for when we were walking down the aisle.
The whole day went great, and we have some fantastic shots to remember it by. They make a great team with a lovely variety of imagery, and we'd totally recommend them.

Can't recommend enough!
Alex and Steve were absolutely incredible - my wife and I don't often feel the best about our appearances, but they made us feel a million dollars on our wedding day. All communication with them was fantastic and focused on our experience, and the final product was amazing too!
