Our Dream Wedding at Notley Tythe Barn – A Heartfelt Thank You

When we started searching for wedding venues in Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire, we sent enquiries to several places. Notley Tythe Barn stood out immediately – they were the first to respond and continued to be incredibly quick and helpful throughout the entire process. That responsiveness alone was a huge plus for us.

They scheduled a visit without delay, and once we saw the venue and met the team, we instantly cancelled all our other appointments. Sometimes you just know – and we knew we’d never find anything better than Notley. It was perfect.

Another huge advantage was their website. Being able to build our own quote online and understand the pricing from the start was so reassuring. No hidden costs, no surprises – just full transparency, which we really appreciated.

Chrystia was absolutely brilliant. She walked us through the venue and introduced us to the team. We even spent some time chatting in the kitchen with Chef Petr – and that’s where our excitement really grew. We had a Turkish-English wedding, and food was incredibly important to us. Chef Petr went above and beyond, preparing incredible Turkish dishes for our day. He truly blew us away!

The finance and admin side of the team was just as strong – responsive, organised, and flexible. We were able to tweak things as needed, and they always made us feel supported.

As for the venue itself – it’s beautiful in its simplicity. We didn’t want anything over-the-top, and the barn’s character and charm spoke for itself. The fairy lights added just the right touch of magic. We focused on table décor and small personal touches, which blended in beautifully with the space.

One of the best things about Notley is the availability of extra items – LOVE letters on the dancefloor, a sweet trolley, card box, and more. We booked almost all of them! Having everything available in-house made life so much easier. We didn’t have to run around sourcing things – everything was there and ready.

And then there was Ian, the beer donkey – what an absolute legend! He brought so much fun and joy to our sunny wedding day. Our guests adored him!

A special thank you to Jules, our event manager, who walked us through every detail and ensured the day ran smoothly. She made us feel calm, confident, and completely taken care of.

The bar, the massive dancefloor, the setup – it was all just perfect. With the bar next to the dancefloor, the party never stopped – people could grab a drink and keep dancing without missing a beat.

We could go on and on, but we’ll stop here to spare your eyes! 😊

We are endlessly grateful to the entire Notley team. It was the best decision to choose Notley Tythe Barn for our big day. Who knows – maybe we’ll be back to celebrate our 10th, 20th, or even 30th anniversary there!

From our first visit we knew Notley Tythe Barn was the perfect venue for our wedding. The whole team were so helpful and welcoming for all our questions and requests, Chef Petr and his team delivered the most delicious food all day. Rosie made sure our day went smoothly and everyone agreed that that Notley was the most beautiful venue.

Everything was better than excellent. The food was sublime and the quality quite astonishing given that there were 88 of us. The room and atmosphere was wonderful. The staff were wonderful.

From the very start, Notley were so welcoming, kind and patient with their time. The venue is absolutely beautiful and we just had the best day. The staff were so efficient, busy in the background making sure our day went as smoothly as possible. The food was also delicious as was all the added extras, such as Ian the Donkey :-) the disco, the trailer bar, the music. We had a beautiful day and we couldn't recommend Notley more.

The perfect location and day for our wedding. We cannot recommend Alison, Jules and the Notley team enough. From our first look around, we knew that Notley was the perfect setting for our wedding day and they made everything so simple for us, taking the stress away of planning completely. They were flexible and gave us complete confidence that our day would be as perfect as it turned out to be. The venue is stunning and everything we had in mind for our wedding day. The team are very accommodating to the requests we had which made our day unique and special to us, everything in the venue reflected the vision we had in mind for our perfect day and perfect the day was.

This was my daughters special day. We viewed about 6 venues initially and we are so pleased we chose the Notley Tythe Barn.
The whole day ran perfectly and the florists made the place look even more spectacular... All the staff were warm and friendly and couldn't do enough for everyone on this special day. Great value for money and helped us enormously with all the preparations.

Notley tythe barn is an absolutely beautiful venue, the barn itself is stunning and it is surrounded by farmland and rolling countryside. All the staff were very helpful and easy to deal with, emails were responded to quickly, correspondence was clear and we were thoroughly reassured throughout that everything was under control. Petr the chef is an absolute star, the food was incredible and our guests with dietary requirements commented on how well their needs were handled. We chose to have Ian the beer donkey for the welcome drinks and he was such a hit with the guests, everybody loved him. Jules was busy working away in the background making sure the day ran smoothly and we were able to just enjoy ourselves without having to worry about a thing. We cannot recommend Notley Tythe Barn highly enough.

The barn and grounds are beautiful! The whole team were amazing! So well organised, professional, supportive and communicated well with us. We had the perfect wedding thanks to their help. The venue has got everything! The in-house DJ was great and tuned in to the music we wanted. The suppliers were fantastic too!
The food was to die for!! All our guests commented on the amazing food from the chef and his team. There are lots of extras available to hire. We hired a new member of the team for drinks, photos and cuddles, 'Ian'

We recently had our wedding at Notley Tythe Barn, and it was nothing short of perfect.
The venue is breathtakingly full of rustic charm, surrounded by stunning countryside views which was amazing for photos.
The team was incredibly professional, warm and attentive making sure every detail was perfect from start to finish.

It was the first venue my partner and had visited amongst wedding planning, and we knew immediately it was perfect for us. The staff were all so welcoming and accommodating, the grounds were beautiful, food was genuinely excellent - and the day itself went through seamlessly. I don’t know where to start! What an incredible experience it was to get married at the Notley Tythe Barn. Alison helped us plan and made sure our day reflected us as a couple. Her support with the nitty gritty details was invaluable and helped our day run smoothly. Alison is a joy to work with and took all the stress away from planning. Lorraine was also very helpful answering questions too, particularly when Alison was out of office and we needed answers quickly. Jules looked after us beautifully on the day! We felt like complete celebrities and our day felt relaxed but also contained all the extra fun elements we were looking to include, including, beer donkey, signature cocktails, champagne popping and cold spark machines. Jules’ run through before hand was very helpful and we loved spending quality time with her before the big day. Petr and Daniela wowed us with their food! They completely personalised our menu to include our favourite meals and made sure, when designing it with us, that we covered a range of options that would cater for all guest preferences. We also had a range of guest with allergies and dietary requirements. These guests were glowing about not only their food but also their experience of service during the meal throughout, which made them feel very comfortable and reassured. Notley’s DJ, was incredible at taking a sample of our preferred music tastes and creating a set that had all ages dancing the whole night long! He worked seamlessly with an outside sax and bongo player to create an electric atmosphere! Finally the waiters and waitresses that work at Notley, really are second to none! Not only were they professional but they are clearly a strong knit team that did everything with a smile on their faces and nothing seemed too much trouble. We have had so many guests get in touch saying it was the best wedding they have ever been too and that it was not only luxurious but completely unique! The phrase that was mentioned endlessly was ‘If Carlsberg did weddings!’ Thank you the whole Notley Team for making our dream wedding come true!
