Where can I even begin… from the very first moment I stepped into St Osyth priory, I knew it was the place I had dreamt of! I’ve just had my wedding at St Osyth Priory Estate and it was the most magical day, asa DIY bride, finding a high quality venue, who allowed creative control was going to be difficult, but the team at St Osyth done just that, they went above and beyond to ensure I had nothing to do on the day! From decorating my wedding table, putting together my boxes for cake and being my personal assistants, it was like having two best friends to make my day run beautifully. I cannot explain in words how wonderful Lizzie and Livi were and they have my heartfelt thanks for an eternity of beautiful memories. The venue itself was everything we could’ve hoped for, everyone commented on how breathtaking it was, from the Darcy west house, to the chapel built in the 1100s, the winding rose gardens, twinkling wisteria walkway and flock of white and red deer. There are so many different settings to fit in with your day and these girls really will help you to have the day you’ve been picturing. I love that the venue is currently growing and adding new restored areas,I’ll be coming back each year for my anniversary to see it grow and thrive and cannot wait to enjoy the rooftop hot tub! The food is covered by an internal caterer and we had a free private food tasting with our chef who has previously cooked for the queen. We had our own lamb on the day and they were the most accommodating, helpful and incredible team of cooks, no long waits between courses, beautifully presented and cooked to perfection! I genuinely cannot explain how incredible this venue is and I owe them my biggest thanks for making my day more than I could’ve ever imagined. If you can imagine it, they seem to find a way to make it happen… if you’ve struggled to connect with wedding co-ordinators and felt they’ve not truly listened to what you want, then this is the place for you!

We had the most incredible wedding at Chalkney Water Meadows. It's the perfect place to be creative and create the wedding of your dreams. The staff were extremely accommodating and flexible and as excited as us about creating the perfect day. We hired the log cabins and Bell tents as accommodation for us and guests and it will forever be the most unique special memories we hold. I'd recommend this venue 100%

Old Essex Barn and both of their coordinators were fantastic. Only let down was with catering company who really slipped in effort, presentation and organisation in the evening after being spot on all day

We cannot recommend East Mersea Hall highly enough as a wedding venue. The grounds are stunning, with a great balance between spaciousness and cosiness. Kirsty, the Wedding and Events Manager, is relentlessly supportive and highly knowledgeable about everything weddings. This was a huge help to us as we didn't know where to start! During the pandemic, Kirsty has been super understanding and has allowed us to postpone on two occasions with no hassles at all. She is amazing!

We had our wedding here this week and it was arranged excellently and exactly how we wanted it. The staff were wonderful and made sure we and our guests were well looked after. We stayed for two nights afterwards the room was just as we would expect it to be very comfortable and ideal for what we wanted

Just wanted to say thank you from me and Roy to all the team at Maison Talbooth for making it a truly special birthday weekend – from arriving Friday afternoon to sadly leaving Sunday morning everything was great, the welcome, the rooms, the pool the food, the service throughout was exemplary. Dinner at Le Talbooth on Friday night was spectacular, again great location, great service, great food the perfect start to our weekend of celebrations. I have posted something suitably glowing on Trip Advisor, I too work in hospitality and know how hard the team have to work to provide that seemingly effortless anticipatory service, please pass our thanks on to all concerned. We have received a number of thank notes from our friends and family who attended they have all mentioned the great hotel and team, I am sure you will be seeing some of them again in the future and you will certainly see us again.

Houchins proved to tick every box for our wedding from start to end and once it was dressed for our big day, it was the most beautiful wedding venue we had ever seen. The beautiful farmhouse accommodation was an added luxury, allowing our closest family to stay with us on the wedding night and continue the wedding celebrations to the following day.

My husband and I got married at Wivenhoe House on 5th July 2014 and we had an amazing day. I would thoroughly recommend Wivenhoe House as a wedding venue as all the staff were so helpful and went out of their way to make sure that everyone was having a great time. Charley and her events team were always available to assist when we were planning our big day too. The venue is so beautiful and the accommodation with all the different sponsored suites is fantastic. We had a lovely meal on the day and were able to attend a food tasting session beforehand to decide on our food choices. The wedding buffet in the evening seemed to be an endless supply to keep all of our guests well fed! This venue has it all, and is in such a beautiful setting with great photo opportunities in the gardens and by the lake. You would have an amazing wedding day here. Michaela & Alex Salvaris

I thought I had to write to you as in today’s world, sadly, people normally only write to complain. I am writing to say that we have received not only exceptional service but an experience that not only Yvonne and myself – and of course Rachael and Paul- but everyone who attended will never forget. It was totally beyond our expectations! We have been inundated with calls and emails from the guests who attended to say how fantastic your venue was, how polite/attentive/nothing is too much trouble your staff were and how the quality of the food was totally exceptional. From the moment you personally started the meetings with us you have been absolutely meticulous in your planning, understanding and have offered excellent suggestions. Your detailed letters recording every meeting have been superb and there could be no question of misunderstandings that can often arise with large-scale events. Your timeline of the day was adhered to completely and your staff were friendly and totally professional. You’ll be delighted to know that the florist rang us to tell us that in all the weddings she does no one has made her more welcome at a venue than you- even down to providing drinks for her. The photographer and video recordist also made those comments to me on the day when you were arranging food for them. Lastly, as I have to finish this at some point, your integrity to deliver what was promised to us was of the highest order. Thank you Chris – you made the most important day in my life stress free and we were all able to enjoy an outstanding venue but it was the quality of the food and customer service that look it to another level completely.
