1. Olivia Buckland and Alex Bowen - Love Island

One of two success stories from Love Island series two is the lovely Olivia Buckland and Alex Bowen. Their Love Island story went from strength to strength when Alex popped the question in 2016. He admitted he bought the ring just weeks after leaving the villa - when you know, you know!

The couple are now married (see Olivia's wedding dress here) and welcomed their first child, Abel Jacob Bowen, earlier this year.

2. Cara Delahoyde and Nathan Massey - Love Island

Our favourite funny pair (and Hitched Guest Editors) Nathan and Cara were the other immense success story from series two of Love Island. The pair got engaged shortly after leaving the show - who could forget Nathan’s incredible Love Island villa proposal and that celebrity engagement ring?

Known for their relationship reality posts on and honeymoon-worthy Disney trips, the pair have two children together, Freddie and Delilah and recently celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary

3. Camilla Thurlow and Jamie Jewitt - Love Island

Series three of Love Island also had its fair share of success stories, one being Camilla Thurlow and Jamie Jewitt - one of a fair few Love Island couples that are still together.

Just when humanitarian Camilla thought her chances of finding love in the villa were over, in walks the hunk that is Jamie Jewitt. He and Camilla fell for each other straight away and continued their love story outside of the villa.

They married in September 2021, four years after meeting on the show. They had their first child, Nell Sophia, in 2020 and welcomed their second daughter, Nora Belle, earlier this year.

4. Jess Shears and Dom Lever - Love Island

Another couple whose relationship lasted long after the cameras turned off is Jess Shears and Dom Lever who also appeared on Love Island series three.

Dom was instantly besotted with Jess and the pair tied the knot in October 2018 just over a year after leaving the show. They have since welcomed two children.

5. Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury - Love Island

Joining the seemingly long list of Love Island couples that are still together are Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury, son of famous boxer Tyson Fury. The pair were runners up on series five of the reality dating show and have just announced that they are expecting their first child.

Molly-Mae and Tommy made the announcement on Instagram which was shortly followed by a post telling fans that their first child will be a girl!

6. Georgia Kousoulou and Tommy Mallet - The Only Way is Essex

True TOWIE fans will find it difficult to remember a time when Tommy Mallet and Georgia Kousoulou weren’t together. Georgia and Tommy are The Only Way is Essex’s power couple, having begun their relationship back in 2014.

Though they’d met briefly at the gym a few months before filming, the early days of their relationship played out on screen for fans to watch. From pie and mash dates to Ibiza holidays, their love went from strength to strength.

After welcoming their first child together in 2021, we knew it wouldn’t be long before the pair got engaged and Tommy popped the question to Georgia in February 2022. We know she looks stunning as a celebrity bridesmaid so we can't wait to see what she looks like as a bride!

7. Dan Edgar and Amber Turner - The Only Way is Essex

Dan Edgar and Amber Turner’s relationship is one which has fought against all the odds. Dan’s on-again-off-again relationship with Kate Wright (now Ferdinand) came to an abrupt end at the same time that Amber’s romance with ex-boyfriend Jamie Reed ended.

The two splits and the beginning of Amber and Dan’s relationship caused (even more) drama on series 20 of The Only Way is Essex. Though drama has followed them throughout, Amber and Dan’s relationship has proved to be a resilient one and the duo are still going strong. Talk about proving the haters wrong…

8. Millie Mackintosh and Hugo Taylor - Made in Chelsea

Millie and Hugo were the fun and flirty couple everyone loved in the Made in Chelsea early days. Their witty and charming relationship had us all won over, but drama soon erupted when Hugo cheated on Millie with co-star Rosie Fortescue - we're still not over it.

We thought that was it - Mugo were over for good! But proving they really were meant to be, the pair got things back on track after Millie’s split from ex-husband Professor Green. They have since married and welcomed two children, Sienna and Aurelia.

9. Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo - Made in Chelsea

Another Made in Chelsea success story: Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo. Those who have been watching the show since Millie and Hugo round one will be just as surprised as we were to learn that playboy Jamie Laing had genuinely settled down.

When Jamie met Sophie (aka Habbs), though they began as friends, their instant connection was hard to ignore. Though they faced some backlash at the beginning of their relationship, they fought against the critics and are now planning a wedding abroad in Spain.

After getting engaged in December 2021, they met with us at Hitched HQ to play a game of Mr & Mrs and trust us when we say it’s hilarious!

10. Lucy Watson and James Dunmore - Made in Chelsea

Lucy Watson and James Dunmore on their wedding day

Lucy Watson was always known as Made in Chelsea’s 'Ice Queen' - why, we’re not too sure as we’ve always thought she’s fabulous. Honest and unapologetic, Lucy was swept off her feet when she met charming James Dunmore.

Their relationship aired briefly on screen where viewers got to see a softer side to the older of the Watson sisters. Since leaving the show, Lucy and James have said those all-important marriage vows in a gorgeous destination wedding and she rocked a pretty impressed ruffled wedding dress

11. Maeva Dascanio and James Taylor - Made in Chelsea

Bringing all the spice to Made in Chelsea in more recent years is French knock-out Maeva Dascanio. Ex-girlfriend of Miles Nazir, Maeva made headlines when she began dating his best friend James Taylor.

Though their relationship has seen many a rocky patch including cheating rumours, drama with Miles and James turning down a marriage proposal from Maeva, the pair are now engaged and expecting their first child together.

One thing's for sure, this is a reality TV couple who have defied all odds - who can't respect that?

12. Spencer Matthews and Vogue Williams - The Jump

Though we’ll always see Spenny as a Made in Chelsea lad, he actually met his now-wife Vogue whilst filming celebrity skiing competition, The Jump.

One of our favourite couples in the biz, Spencer and Vogue are experts at self-deprecation and showing what a real relationship looks like.

No stranger to a camera crew, they’ve brought us reality shows of their own following the planning of their wedding and birth of their three children, and a podcast. Keep it coming guys, we love to see it.

13. Tayah Victoria and Adam Aveling - Married at First Sight UK

Taya and Adam smiling at their vow renewal

Unlike meeting on a reality TV show about you and your friends, Tayah Victoria and Adam Aveling met on a reality television show where the whole purpose is to marry a stranger, and try to make it work - no pressure right?

But proving that getting married at first sight can work for some, Tayah and Adam stayed married after the show, renewed their vows in a private ceremony and have just welcomed their first baby together. If that’s not a success story, we’re not sure what is.

14. Matthew Jameson and Daniel McKee - Married at First Sight UK

Another success story from Married at First Sight UK is Matthew Jameson and Daniel McKee. Making history as the first same sex couple to walk down the Channel 4 MAFSUK aisle, Matthew and Daniel were an instant hit with one another.

The only thing getting in the way of their budding romance was where to live - a running talking point between them during the show. The pair seemed to have come to an agreement as they are still together and living very happily. Such a cute couple!

15. Lucy Mecklenburgh and Ryan Thomas - Bear Grylls’ Celebrity Island

Lucy Meck and Ryan Thomas with their two young children

TOWIE star Lucy Meck may have got engaged on The Only Way is Essex, but it was her stint on Bear Grylls’ Celebrity Island in 2017 that saw her really fall in love.

Lucy met actor Ryan Thomas a few years before the show, and revealed on her podcast that initially she wanted to turn down the opportunity as she knew Ryan would be there too (awkward!) - but we bet she’s glad she went for it. Ryan popped the question in 2019 during a romantic holiday in Italy but he pair are yet to walk down the aisle. They share two children together.

16. Mikey Dalton and Grace Adams-Short - Big Brother

Big Brother stars Grace and Mikey smiling at the camera

Grace and Mikey got together on Big Brother waaaay back in 2006. The pair fell for each other on screen and are still together - take that, haters!

Mikey proposed just months after his eviction and the pair wed just a few years later in 2009.

They now have three children and reside in Mikey’s hometown of Liverpool. We wonder if the new series of BB will give us any more long-lasting romances…

17. Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton - Strictly Come Dancing

Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton met when they were paired together on Strictly Come Dancing in 2018. Though Stacey was in a relationship at the time, the pair’s connection was clearly too strong.

They waited until a few months after the show to take things public and in 2019 the loved-up couple confirmed their romance.

Though they faced backlash over the ‘Strictly Curse’, they’ve proved that the connection was genuine and announced in August 2022 that they are expecting their first child.

18. Joe Sugg and Dianne Buswell - Strictly Come Dancing

Another Strictly romance came in the form of Joe Sugg and Dianne Buswell. The pair began dating after being paired together back in 2018.

Their relationship also came under some fire with questions around whether or not Dianne kissed Joe before breaking up with her then boyfriend. Their relationship is going strong with reports saying the pair are more loved up than ever.

19. Gemma Atkinson and Gorka Marquez - Strictly Come Dancing

Gemma Atkinson and Gorka Marques met on Strictly Come Dancing in 2017 when they were paired with other people. Gemma was partnered with Aljaz Skorjanec and Gorka was with Alexandra Burke. Their romance blossomed on the show and welcomed their first child, Mia, together in July 2019.

Countdown host Rachel Riley met her partner Pasha Kovalev when they were partnered together on Strictly Come Dancing in 2013. Though Rachel was married at the time, it seems the connection between her and her professional dance partner was too strong to ignore.

Despite being the fifth star to be eliminated, Rachel left the show with a new romance on her hands. The couple tied the knot in 2019 and share two children together.

21. Emily Middlemas and Ryan Lawrie - The X Factor

Though it isn’t a dating show, The X Factor has seen many a romance blossom, but the only one (to our knowledge) that is still going strong is Emily Middlemas and Ryan Lawrie.

After confirming their relationship in 2016, Ryan and Emily’s love has outlasted Zayn Malik and Perrie Edwards, Cheryl and Liam Payne, Louis - Tomlinson obvs - and Louisa Johnson, and who could forget Chloe Jasmine and Stevie Ritchie?!

Ryan proposed to Emily whilst on holiday in Egypt, popping the question in front of the pyramids - what a Giza!

Which Dating Show is Most Successful For Finding Love?

If there's one thing we love more than reality TV, it's a reality dating show and we've got bags of them at our finger tips. With Married at First Sight, Love Island, Love is Blind, Take Me Out, Dinner Date, First Dates and the list goes on - it poses the question, which of these reality dating shows is the best for finding a genuine relationship?

Along with wedding décor experts Ginger Ray, we took a deep dive into which reality dating shows actually generate the most successful couples.

Analysis found that more Love is Blind couples (17%) have stayed together after the show than Married at First Sight and Love Island who each have a current success rate of 12%, however Love Island does have the highest number of couples still together (16) closely followed by First Dates (12).

When it comes to the number of couples paired, First Dates is top dog with a whopping 795 couples matched up, followed by Take Me Out who matched 357 couples - that's a lot of likeys and lightys! Love Island was third with 130 couples being matched on the show.

Though it may not have the most successful track record, our survey* revealed that almost half of Brits (46%) voted Married at First Sight as their favourite reality dating show.

Love Island is also popular with Brits, with over 823,000 online searches* every month across the UK - people are keen to know which Love Island couples are still together and are still interested in previous winners like Cara Delahoyde and Nathan Massey's relationship gossip

Admitting neither of them expected to find love on the show, Nathan and Cara spoke on their experience, telling Hitched.co.uk, "I thought I'd just go on there and see what happens. I'm 5'7 so for her to step forward for me, I was like 'happy days!'"

Cara added, "I think we both just went in for a laugh. I was 25, Nathan was 24 - why would anyone turn down six weeks of having a laugh in a villa in the sun? Obviously at the time if was a very different show."

Shedding some light on why us Brits may be so fascinated with the world of reality TV dating, Hitched Editor Zoe Burke says, "At the end of the day, we all love LOVE! There’s nothing quite like watching a couple go through all the ups and downs of married life, then make it to the end of the experiment still together.

"As most of our community are in the midst of planning weddings themselves, we know they’re all romantics at heart, and who doesn’t love a happy ending?”
