I’m not really sure where to begin or whether I can do this review justice but I’ll try.

David truly went above and beyond for our wedding day. The attention to detail leading up to the day really shocked us, phone calls, emails and even meeting up at Gilpin a few weeks prior to make sure everything was exactly how we imagined it.

On the day, David turned up nice and early exactly like he said he would, introduced himself to our family and settled in.
Throughout the day we lost count how many guests made comment on how good David was, how passionate he was and how he couldn’t do enough for everyone in regards to getting some nice pictures if people asked him to. Your photographer really knows what he’s doing, was a popular comment.
We also hired Big Vinny, we set this up on arrival, our guests got a welcome drink and a picture, the picture was then added into our guest book, which people then wrote in next to their picture. Vinny was then moved into the lounge for evening pictures with the props. David arranged all of this and having the pictures with guests messages in our guest book is amazing to look back on.

We received our preview pictures the following day and then our remaining pictures one week later, again just like David said we would. To get 40 pictures less than 24hrs after our big day was amazing to see whilst still on the wedding high.

If all this wasn’t enough David threw in another extra for us, knowing that we were keen hikers and David also loving the fells and being a qualified Mountaineering Guide, he suggested we get suited and booted again a few days later, hit the fells and get some amazing shots with the Lake Districts best scenery behind us and what an experience this was and the pictures were just something else! David was happy to do Helvellyn he didn’t care, he was so enthusiastic about it but we chose Hallin Fell as that had meaning to us, we’ve spent a lot of time around Ullswater over the years so we wanted that as the back drop.

It is also worth mentioning that we also used Benny as our videographer, David also arranged this and we couldn’t be more thankful to Benny.

We have received many pictures from our guests, some of these pictures have David and Benny in them, they make us smile, it’s nice to see the people behind the camera, they were part of our day and played a huge part in the memories we now have.

I truly can’t recommend David enough, let him do your thing and you won’t be disappointed.

David went above and beyond for our wedding on 15/11/25 at The Merewood County House Hotel.
We spoke on the phone a number of times before we met up in person. His communication was constant and we now feel like personal friends.
David's relaxed approach put us at ease as we were unsure of what we wanted so left it to David.
All we knew was we didn't want people getting fed up of posing we wanted natural.
With a result of David professionalism and experience he created the most beautiful photos of people genuinely enjoying our wedding. There's fun shots, cheeky shots, natural and beautiful meaningful moments.

we hired David a while back now to shoot out wedding in the lake district, it all seemed to be going ok untill the day of the wedding, things felt a bit rushed and in the end were relevied to have some peace and quiet once he left to enjoy our day, he was rude to our guests and the hotel staff and even missed sending us some photos (still yet to receive cake cutting photos).

Unfortunately he was running on red bull that day which was his explanation to the jitteryness and soon after we had some family issues to deal with so didn't really talk out our issues but the e-mail comminuications have been sporadic and excuse laided.

maybe we just caught him at a bad time but for a one off event suchg as a wedding there isnt a second chance .......

Well, what can I say about the business of David Rucker Photography.

A couple of years ago when I started planning our wedding which is in a few months, I searched the wedding listings and peoples comments high and low to find someone with high energy, a great sense of humour, our sort of fit but with also fantastic photography.

After a video call we booked him for our wedding and then he suggested meeting up whilst in the Lakes which is a lovely touch, he’s very personal and relatable and you just can’t help but acknowledge his desire and energy for the job he loves.

Fast forward to after the wedding and again absolutely amazing, fantastic photographs, a top gentleman who fitted in to our day perfectly. Our guests loved him and were full of non stop praise for how much he vibed with us and captured eveything from start to finish.

We are truly grateful for such amazing photographs and for allowing us to relive our magical day time and time again.

If you need a wedding photographer then David is your guy. He’s such an authentic man and you feel so comfortable with him.

David you are an absolute genius.

We have just got a preview of our gallery and every one of the photographs was perfection; we just want to frame and display them on the walls in our house.

Words can not explain how much my husband and I are in awe of you David and your work. And to think we nearly booked someone else who was considerably cheaper and even included an album.

From the moment we had a chat, I could tell you listened to me and your ideas and passion shone through.

All our guests commented upon your professionalism and a friend even joked that they thought you had ants in your pants as you never stopped the whole day.

We have never felt particularly comfortable in front of a camera, yet your relaxed banter put us at ease. We had our best day ever, the images are literally a work of art.

My husband was joking the other day that if we were ever to get married again he would choose David, and do you know what, I would too.

All my bridesmaids and friends, love the photos, and my Maid of Honour is looking to book David for her wedding in The Italian Lakes next year.

If you are looking for someone whose work is on a completely different level, then book David.

We can't recommend you enough, and can't wait to see you next year, but this time it will be in The Italian Lakes, and not the beautiful English Lakes !

David did a great job of getting some magical moments of our wedding day. Excellent communication, guided the guests to help the photos run smoothly. As I bride I felt listened to and now have the most perfect photos to treasure.

My husband and I met David back in 2020 at the beginning of the pandemic. We told him we were looking for a photographer for our wedding in 2023 and we loved what we had seen of his work. When it comes to photographers, I was very picky because I knew exactly what David responded to us within 24 hours, and from the first email exchange, I knew we had found our photographer. He also told us about his photobooth "Vinny" which we also used for our wedding.

David has the perfect balance of being busy and booked, but also flexible. At the last minute, my husband and I decided to get legally married at a registrar's office in the summer of 2020 before our actual wedding celebration in 2023 and David photograph our registrar's wedding as well. He also did a mini engagement shoot to get to know us beforehand so during both wedding celebrations we felt completely comfortable.

When David photographs your special day he blends in seamlessly in the background, you genuinely do not even know he's there which is absolutely brilliant for candids. But at the same, the "posed" photos look so natural as well.

All in all, there is a reason David has won as many photography awards as he has. He has watched and captured the growth of our family and I can't wait to find another excuse to use him in the near future.

Just Wow! We are thrilled that we found such a professional, talented and dedicated photographer! David captured our day beautifully and his enthusiastic, yet relaxed approach put us both at ease.

Our wedding was a small and intimate ceremony at Lake Windermere. From our initial phone consultation through to the day itself, David listened, took time to really understand what we wanted, and tailored his package to our needs. He had lots of suggestions, ideas and excellent advice - it was evident how passionate he is about his work, and how he genuinely wanted to deliver us a wonderful experience with everything that we’d hoped for.

On the day itself David arrived early and was an absolute pleasure to work with. His cheerful, fun but well planned and calm, organised approach was fantastic. He captured wonderful, relaxed images of our ceremony and drinks reception in exactly the style we’d agreed, and our personalities shone through.

After the ceremony David drove us to some amazing locations to take more photos of our day. His knowledge of the local area was fantastic and was the only reason we were able to get such stunning and unique images in the short time we had left. We got married on the end of May bank holiday weekend and the weather was glorious, so as you can imagine the area was incredibly busy with traffic and tourists! David remained relaxed, calm and gave us possible options of what was achievable in the busy conditions before we set out. He was absolutely amazing in getting us to our dream location and capturing such stunning, striking and unique photos. We ran a little over time due to the area being so busy - David kindly gifted us his extra time because he genuinely wanted to deliver what we’d hoped for and his philosophy is all about under promising and over delivering, whether thats a small short elopement wedding or a big all day wedding.

Well, David delivered everything promised and so much more!! David is talented, passionate and a genuinely lovely person, we can’t recommend him highly enough.

We absolutely loved our special day. One of the reasons it was so special, is because of the level of service and professionalism given to us by David.
We explained what we would like to achieve in the time we had with David and he sure delivered.
David took the professional traditional photos we really wanted before, during and directly after the service, but we also wanted the beautiful views of the lakes to be part of our photos backdrop. We let David choose what he thought would be the best locations for what we wanted to achieve (we had spoken to him a number of times leading up to the wedding). We went to numerous locations around the lakes and he would have taken us to even more, but we needed to get back for dinner reservations. Nothing was too much trouble and proof was in the results.
We had a party planned for our family and friends 12 days after wedding. We really wanted to have at least a sample of the photos to display at the party. David was an absolute star and didn’t just deliver a sample of the photos, but he delivered all of the photos, well in excess of 300 and a video, two days after the wedding! He definitely delivered.

We wanted a small intimate wedding on a budget. We loved David’s style of photography and reached out to him. David was very flexible to agree a package and price that worked for us. On the day he made sure that within 4 hours he captured a fantastic range of photos getting ready, the ceremony and post ceremony drinks some family snaps and then drove us to beautiful scenic locations locally for the most beautiful shots outdoors in nature which was the main reason we chose David. The images we have received are stunning and we feel really captured the day & are amazing to look back at with joy. Thank you David.

We are so glad that we booked David for our wedding!! From start to finish he was suberb. The communication was excellent. David was always happy to answer any question we had, and took the time to meet us a few months before our wedding and really get to know us as a couple. One of the reasons we booked David initially was for his energy and enthusiasm, which is infectious and really helped to put everyone at ease. He is incredibly friendly without being intrusive, and also took the time to learn all of the bridal and groom's parties names before he arrived.
David is incredibly creative: he took on board what we were looking for and offered his ideas and expertise to capture some incredible images of the day. This included some amazing images using his drone! Our guests also loved the photobooth and props, which helped to make a hilarious wedding guestbook!

David was hilarious from start to finish & followed our wishes to the tee but also convinced us to do 3 photos in a different setting during our wedding at Abbey House Hotel in Barrow which turned out to be our favourites. He knows his stuff !!

Wedding photos are the ever lasting memories and it was important that we had a photographer who could capture everything that went on seamlessly. David did just that. He new everything we wanted, and produced for us absolutely outstanding pictures, we didn’t even know he was there. He really listened to our ideas, but also gave his professional advice where we needed it! He even drove us to another lake district location nearby to our venue to get even more jaw dropping views.
