About me - and my offer to you
I am a passionate wedding photographer who covers events in the Edinburgh/Lothian, Scottish Borders, Newcastle, Northumberland and Cumbria areas.
Photographing weddings in a genuine pleasure for me – and not just a business. Being invited to spend time with couples and their families on the happiest day of their lives is a huge privilege and an equally large responsibility. I aim to capture all the big ticket moments of your day: the all-important bridal (and sometimes groom) preparations in the morning, the bride’s walk down the aisle, the essential family photos and speeches – and the cutting of the cake. But just as important are the little details: intimate looks between couples, the rings, the dress, the shoes and the spirit of the day through close attention to your choice of flowers and decoration.
My photographs are about colour and movement. It is so important to me to capture the colour popping from the bride’s bouquet or the subtle lighting as it changes throughout the day. Equally important is capturing the swish of a dress and the movement of your guests as the party gets going. Most of all, my wedding photography is about capturing the fun and celebration of your day and ensuring you have a set of beautiful pictures that evoke the atmosphere of your wedding to cherish for decades to come. The photographs can be as posed or as candid as you like – but whichever your choice, I will do my very best to ensure you’re at ease and enjoying yourself.
My fee for five hours
If you aren't looking for a photographer to capture the entire day, I charge £550 for 5 hours (less a 5% Hitched discount of £22.50 making it £522.50) plus any parking costs.
My fee for a full day
In return for my fee of £900 (less a 5% Hitched discount of £45 making it £855) and any parking costs, I will photograph your wedding from the bride’s preparations until an hour after the first dance. I will deliver 35 headline images within a week of your wedding, with a total of around 350 images within a month of your big day.

What does the wedding package include?
The full day wedding day package includes photographing the bride getting ready up to an hour after the first dance.
Alternatively, my five hour offer spans any five consecutive hours you like!
How far in advance should I contact you?
Whenever you like - but the more notice, the better to avoid disappointment (and so I can visit the venue before the big day to plan my shoot)
Do you cover more than one wedding a day?

What is the charge for travelling?
I won't charge for travel if the venue is within 50 miles of Newcastle or Edinburgh - but a nominal 10p a mile thereafter

I focus on using the available light to produce evocative, timeless images. Some couples prefer a certain kind of 'look' and I'm happy to accommodate any requests. After all, it's your big day!

Full frame Nikon DSLRs and top end lenses
Do you offer any tool to display the photos online?
Yes, i use www.passgallery.com so that you can instantly download, share and print the images as soon as I've uploaded them

Fantastic Photographer!
If you want a wedding photographer who captures the genuine joy of your day without making you do stiff, awkward poses, we cannot recommend Niall at Light Brush Weddings enough!
He photographed our wedding at The Vu on 30th August 2026 and the final gallery has completely blown us away.
From our very first chat, his friendly and organised manner instantly put our anxieties to rest. On the day, he was a wonderfully calm, relaxed presence who felt more like a friend with a camera than a coordinator.
Despite the bad weather, Niall used the incredible scenery at The Vu beautifully and the absolute highlights are the completely unposed, candid moments. He managed to capture the raw laughter of our guests, the incredible lighting across the reservoir, and stunning reflections around the Waterlily suite—all without us ever feeling like a camera was in our faces. His work is vibrant, full of life, and perfectly captures the movement and emotion of the day. We received a beautiful sneak peek incredibly fast, and the full gallery arrived while we were on our honeymoon.
So many of our guests commented on how lovely and unobtrusive he was. Niall is genuinely such a a down to earth, easy going person and we are so happy to have found such a wonderful photographer.

Fantastic photos
Nial was absolutely amazing he communicated well with us before our wedding day and took the most incredible natural photos. My husband and I are terrible at getting our picture taken and Nial made it so effortless. He was so discreet too we barely noticed him taking the pictures meaning he was able to get some really amazing candid photos of ourselves and the guests.

The Perfect Day
We honestly couldn’t be happier with our wedding photographer. From start to finish, he was incredibly professional, friendly and made us feel completely at ease. Highly recommend
Niall was helpful from first point of contact, answering very quickly and providing loads of information. We had a bit of an unusual request with a couple of events on different dates and he fit us in, was flexible with timings and came back to us with a quote very promptly. We secured the dates and when the day came around, he arrived early, had scoped out the venues in advance and after our two zoom calls in advance, already had an idea of who people were and what was needed. He interacted with all our guests like a family friend and fit right in finding the best candid shots. Overall, I would recommend Lightbrush photography, everything went smoothly and we got some fantastic pictures in a style that we really like.

Beautiful wedding photography!
We could not recommend Niall more! He captured our whole day so beautifully and caught every key moment! From our first virtual meeting we knew Niall was the right fit for our day and we were delighted to book him as our wedding photographer. Brilliant Photographer, delighted with wedding photos

Niall was extremely flexible and even met with us twice beforehand to go over all the details of how the day would unfold. On the wedding day itself, he was nothing but professional, organized, and a calming presence throughout.
Just before we left for our honeymoon, Niall sent us a selection of preview photos they were absolutely stunning, and we were so grateful to have them to look back on so soon. When we later received the full gallery, we were blown away. The photos were worth every penny, and we couldn’t be happier with the memories he captured.
