About me - and my offer to you
I am a passionate wedding photographer who covers events in the Edinburgh/Lothian, Scottish Borders, Newcastle, Northumberland and Cumbria areas.
Photographing weddings in a genuine pleasure for me – and not just a business. Being invited to spend time with couples and their families on the happiest day of their lives is a huge privilege and an equally large responsibility. I aim to capture all the big ticket moments of your day: the all-important bridal (and sometimes groom) preparations in the morning, the bride’s walk down the aisle, the essential family photos and speeches – and the cutting of the cake. But just as important are the little details: intimate looks between couples, the rings, the dress, the shoes and the spirit of the day through close attention to your choice of flowers and decoration.
My photographs are about colour and movement. It is so important to me to capture the colour popping from the bride’s bouquet or the subtle lighting as it changes throughout the day. Equally important is capturing the swish of a dress and the movement of your guests as the party gets going. Most of all, my wedding photography is about capturing the fun and celebration of your day and ensuring you have a set of beautiful pictures that evoke the atmosphere of your wedding to cherish for decades to come. The photographs can be as posed or as candid as you like – but whichever your choice, I will do my very best to ensure you’re at ease and enjoying yourself.
My fee for five hours
If you aren't looking for a photographer to capture the entire day, I charge £500 for 5 hours (less a 5% Hitched discount of £25 making it £475) plus any parking costs.
My fee for a full day
In return for my fee of £840 (less a 5% Hitched discount making it £798) and any parking costs, I will photograph your wedding from the bride’s preparations until an hour after the first dance. I will deliver 35 headline images within a week of your wedding, with a total of around 350 images within a month of your big day.

What does the wedding package include?
The full day wedding day package includes photographing the bride getting ready up to an hour after the first dance.
Alternatively, my five hour offer spans any five consecutive hours you like!
How far in advance should I contact you?
Whenever you like - but the more notice, the better to avoid disappointment (and so I can visit the venue before the big day to plan my shoot)
Do you cover more than one wedding a day?

Yes, northumberland, Newcastle, Edinburgh, Carlisle and the Lake District / Cumbria
What is the charge for travelling?
I won't charge for travel if the venue is within 50 miles of Newcastle or Edinburgh - but a nominal 10p a mile thereafter

Do you use a specific technique or innovative approach?
I focus on using the available light to produce evocative, timeless images. Some couples prefer a certain kind of 'look' and I'm happy to accommodate any requests. After all, it's your big day!

Full frame Nikon DSLRs and top end lenses
Do you offer any tool to display the photos online?
Yes, i use www.passgallery.com so that you can instantly download, share and print the images as soon as I've uploaded them

Beautiful wedding photography!
We could not recommend Niall more! He captured our whole day so beautifully and caught every key moment! From our first virtual meeting we knew Niall was the right fit for our day and we were delighted to book him as our wedding photographer. He is kind, professional, and friendly and made me (a very reluctant subject for photos) feel so comfortable and relaxed throughout the day. Brilliant Photographer, delighted with wedding photos
Niall was the perfect wedding photographer from start to finish. He did a consultation with us when we first booked to get to know us and set our minds at ease. Absolutely fantastic

Our Review
Our wedding took place at the end of July 2025. After searching for a photographer, we came across Niall. From reading his reviews and viewing his portfolio, we knew he was the perfect choice.
Niall was extremely flexible and even met with us twice beforehand to go over all the details of how the day would unfold. On the wedding day itself, he was nothing but professional, organized, and a calming presence throughout.
Just before we left for our honeymoon, Niall sent us a selection of preview photos they were absolutely stunning, and we were so grateful to have them to look back on so soon. When we later received the full gallery, we were blown away. The photos were worth every penny, and we couldn’t be happier with the memories he captured.
We would wholeheartedly recommend Niall to anyone looking for a wedding photographer.

The best photographer you will find!
Niall photographed our wedding just over two weeks ago and we are genuinely so pleased with the service provided from our very first email communication, through two meetings, prep for the day, on the day and the follow up. Niall was professional from start to finish and was so patient and great with all the guests, ensuring we got the photos we wanted without sacrificing the fun of the day for anyone!
We had our headline photos with us within 24 hours of Niall leaving and the remaining photos with us today, just over two weeks from the big day, which surpassed our expectations completely.

A friendly face
I honestly don’t think I could find you a better photographer than Niall if you asked. His level of professionalism throughout the day was incredible and his commitment to getting the right shot blew me away. We struggled to find somewhere to host our couple shots but when I gave Niall a location the night before the wedding, he was there and setting up his ideas for shots by the morning of!
He made me feel so at ease as I can sometimes struggle with ‘candid’ shots but it was so easy with Niall.
Our pictures came out incredibly well and I cannot wait to see them all!

We got married at Balbirnie House Hotel on 15th March 2025. From the start we both found Niall extremely friendly, helpful, and he answered all of my emails very promptly. Niall had travelled nearly 2 hours to get to our venue and arrived bang on time. We didn’t really know which style of photography we would like, but as we do not like being in front of the camera very much we agreed with Niall that natural occurring shots were best for us along with the standard group pics and couple shots. Looking back at the photos, Niall had captured our day perfectly! He really showed how stunning the day was and caught all of our personal touches. There are so many beautiful photos that were taken without even realising, which is exactly what we wanted. So many of our guests also thought Niall was so lovely and professional. We would 100% recommend Light Brush Weddings and especially to those who are shy when it comes to photos as Niall made us feel so relaxed. Thank you so much for our beautiful photos. Perfect Photographer for a Perfect Day!
Niall was an absolute dream to work with for our wedding! From the start, he was incredibly professional, detail-oriented, and super responsive, ensuring every moment was perfectly planned. We had high expectations, and Niall went above and beyond them.
Organising a wedding is arguably the most stressful thing we have ever done. If there's one thing about it that gave us no stress; it was Niall.
From start to finish he was hands on and made us feel super comfortable. We had 2 video call meetings. The first was an informal meeting which he used to find out more about us, which really personalised the experience and the second was closer to the wedding and more specific. Asking if there's any pictures we had in mind, offering a rough outline of the day and providing his own professional recommendations. We both felt really happy with our choice at this point and he ended the call with a lovely statement that actually helped make our wedding day easier to navigate. "Don't forget, this is your day. Please don't get stressed and if there's something to worry about or something goes wrong, pass it on to someone else. Just enjoy yourselves and make the most of it". As someone that worries about how things will go, that piece of advice really meant a lot to us and it was lovely of him to bring it up.
On the day itself Niall delivered well above what we were hoping for. He was able to organise shots without being bossy and made everyone feel comfortable while also not letting beautiful moments pass us by. He took just the right amount of the day for photo sessions and even did his homework on the local area, so one of the guests could drive us about to places of interest and get some unique shots that weren't just as the wedding venue. That was just another example of going above what we had even thought of.
When we got the photos back we were overjoyed. Sometimes you can romanticise what a day looked like in your head, but Niall captured so many beautiful and perfect moments i'm not exaggerating when I say I couldn't have pictured it better in my own mind. I can't wait to look back on the pictures often and be reminded of my perfect day with my perfect photos.
