Thistle Ceremonies is a wedding celebrant service based in Glasgow and available throughout Scotland. Their team is comprised of experienced and talented celebrants who are authorised by the NRS to conduct legal marriages in Scotland and love helping couples bring their wedding dreams to life. Whether you’re planning an intimate occasion or a grand celebration, they believe that you deserve a ceremony that reflects your life, love, and values. They can’t wait to help make your wedding a day that you and your loved ones will never forget.
Services Offered
Thistle Ceremonies would be delighted and honoured to help you celebrate the start of your new life together. Their celebrants can perform a variety of blessings and rituals from all around the world. They can also work with you to design something unique. All our celebrants are authorised to conduct legal weddings. Whatever you have in mind, you can be sure that their team will be there to support you every step of the way as you begin your journey towards your happily ever after.
All our Ceremonies encompass our Humanist ethos, as evinced in our belief body - Thistle Humanists. Profits from Thistle Ceremonies Trading Ltd are given directly to our charity Thistle Ceremonies SCIO for their Funeral Fund. This fund is set up to assist those people living in Scotland, who struggle to meet the cost of a funeral.
In 2022, we donated £9,400 to the Thistle Ceremonies SCIO Funeral Fund, and in 2023 it was an additional £13,000!
In 2021, we were also able to donate £2,000 to Calum's Cabin which supports children with cancer and cancer-related illnesses and £2,000 to the Thistle Ceremonies SCIO Funeral Fund - we were only able to do this because you chose Thistle Ceremonies.

Twilight Wedding
Tegan conducted an amazingly personal service at our twilight wedding in Carnoustie. She is truly amazing at watch she does and I cannot recommend her enough, she took time to learn about our relationship and what matters most to us, making sure everything was included that was closest to our hearts. Her reminder emails about Important documents and dates were second to none and she is in our opinion one of the best in her field. Absolutely Marvellous evening which we would do over and over again and not change a thing, especially Tegan.

Felicity Gordon
Felicity was brilliant and easy to work with through the whole wedding process. She took the time to get to know our story and tailored the script perfectly to reflect us as a couple. Several guests have complimented the personal, fun and light hearted ceremony. We would definitely recommend using Felicity at Thistle!

Professional, warm and caring.
Tegan was just the perfect fit for us. She was warm, caring and fun. From the moment we met she was like a friend. Wanting to know all about us. Her ceremony was warm, caring and fun. She adapted the ceremony to us, even despite all the quirky things we added. You’d be silly not to book Tegan. She is amazing.

A true professional!
We first met Tegan a few years ago when she conducted the ceremonies for two of our close friends' weddings, and we were both really impressed with how engaging and personal the ceremonies were. When we started planning our own wedding we both knew that Tegan was our number one choice to be our celebrant.
Throughout the entire process Tegan was extremely professional and friendly. In the lead up to the big day, she kept us informed of the legal process and everything that was required.
Tegan took the time to meet with us a few months before our wedding to discuss ideas and find out more about us as a couple. As a result the ceremony that she delivered was highly personalised and just what we wanted.
We would highly recommend Tegan to others. She was a stand out supplier for us. We felt well looked after throughout the whole process which was much appreciated as planning a wedding can be very overwhelming!

Carol O’Rourkr
From the moment I asked Carol if she would conduct our ceremony, she was there with us every step of the way. The information and help with the legal side of the wedding was very thorough and when we met with Carol to discuss the ceremony, she was so welcoming and understanding of exactly what we wanted in our wedding. The day itself was amazing and only made better by Carol’s knowledge of us and her enthusiasm. Our guests also thought the ceremony was beautiful and very ‘us’. Janine was amazing throughout the whole process
Janine was our celebrant. She was amazing from our first email right up until the wedding day! Any worries or changes of plans ( and there was many!) all I had to do was give her a wee email and she was so quick at replying and calming me down about everything. She was one of the very few things that DIDN'T stress me through planning our big day. I would recommend her to anyone!

Beautiful and personal wedding ceremony
Our humanist from Thistle was Felicity Gordon and she was a joy to work with throughout. She took the time to get to know our story and made some amazing suggestions of things we could include in our ceremony to make it more personal and special for us. She delivered such a touching ceremony that was emotive, personal and funny at the same time. We had so many compliments from our friends and family with some saying it was the best ceremony they had ever been to! We cannot recommend Felicity and Thistle enough.

Personal and friendly
We met with Jean Steele who is so friendly, knowledgeable and made our ceremony personal, light hearted, fun and romantic. We couldn't ask for more. It was easy to find the right celebrant with Thistle and we will recommend to friends and family. Jean was extremely responsive and sending important reminders was helpful.

A beautiful cermony!
I cannot recommend Carol highly enough! She has such a friendly mannor and was very supportive through the whole journey. After having had one informal chat with Carol online, she came up with a script that sounded like she had known us both for years and was also very helpful with suggestions and timelines for paperwork. The cermony was beautiful and everything and everything we hoped it would be!

Fun loving and very easy going
From our first meeting with Mel we knew that we were going to get along nicely. She had a lovely manner and listened with interest to the things we had to say. She kept us on track with paperwork making sure we had everything done at the right time and always being available to answer any questions. Our ceremony was well planned, we love what she wrote for us and how it was delivered and we loved how she catered for the children making sure they knew exactly what was expected of them and when they froze she offered support and made sure everything ran smoothly. We would definitely recommend using Mel at thistle..

Absolutely Perfect
Lucy Black was our celebrant and we would not have gone with anyone else. After meeting her via video chat we felt like we had known her for years! Her knowledge and experience put us at ease and gave us so much clarity for how the day would go. She even mentioned things we hadn’t even thought about.
Nothing was too much trouble as we changed a couple of things on the run up to the big day. We added the Joey Friends speech in as Lucy started the ceremony and she was so happy to go along with this as my bride knew nothing about it. (Big friends fan) Lucy even drop a couple of Joeys famous lines in which was hilarious!
Honestly the best start to the best day with the best Celebrant and person. Thank you Lucy!

A Perfect Ceremony
Lucy was the first person we booked for our wedding day and I’m so glad we did! We immediately knew from looking at her page that we wanted her to marry us and couldn’t have picked anyone better to make our ceremony as special as it was.
Our first meeting with Lucy felt like we had known her for ages. She spent so much time getting to know us as a couple, finding out about our story and the details of our wedding day. She kept in touch from the moment of booking up, ensuring she could offer advice or answer any questions we had, including information on the legal paperwork. She even checked in on both of us the morning before the ceremony to make sure we were doing okay and to do a final run through which really eased any nerves we had.
She conducted our ceremony beautifully and we had so many of our guests compliment it saying that it was one of the best they had seen. It was so personal to us and you could really tell that Lucy had put a lot of time and effort in to getting it right. She made people laugh, cry and smile throughout!
Lucy shows a genuine interest in her couples which is so clear to see throughout the whole process. Her bubbly, caring personality really shines through and we can’t recommend her enough! ❤️
