Cherry The Celebrant is an independent wedding celebrant from Birmingham, West Midlands. She is certified by the Academy of Modern Celebrancy to deliver rock n' roll style weddings that break a few rules as an alternative wedding celebrant... YEAH!
Cherry is looking for people who love a good soundtrack & get excited about making their passions part of the big day. Couples who want to get married surrounded by fun & love - whatever that looks like to them. Love is love - however it looks, whatever orientation it shows up, Cherry is proud to be a LGBTQ+ wedding celebrant.
At the heart of any ceremony is you and your story, and it's one not to hold back on! Traditional or off the wall? Religion or pop culture? Subtle or loud and proud? Your ceremony will be written and curated how you want it to be.
Want to have your dog walk you down the aisle while your favourite song is playing? Easy.
Want to dress up, cosplay or masquerade? Why not!
Want to have the whole room laughing one minute and crying happy tears the next? It's in the bag!
Kick off with a 20-minute or so consultation with Cherry to talk about your ideas. Once booked, you'll then have a longer meeting, face-to-face or over Zoom, to start planning. Then, the script will be written and sent to you for amendments.
You'll have a constant WhatsApp connection, perfect for those 2 am "I just remembered Auntie Carol wants to do a reading…" or "actually we met in 2011, not 2012" moments, allowing you to carry on your wedding planning stress-free! Additionally, venue visits, rehearsals, and help with writing your own vows can all be offered.
Other Services
Cherry The Celebrant can take care of all the 'Master of Ceremonies' duties. This includes introductions, hosting the speeches or running an activity and welcoming you to the dance floor for the first dance in whatever style of dance you choose.

Not just a celebrant but a miracle worker!
To be honest, I had nearly cancelled the wedding twice and had so many crying fits trying to organise 200 people. But then Vicky came in and just made everything fun again.
We wanted a Sister Act themed wedding with a gospel choir, and Vicky spent a whole year getting to know us to make sure everything was perfect. She surprised us with the most beautiful vows that had everyone laughing and crying, and she basically ran our entire day for us. She helped coordinate with vendors, introduced the speeches, and made sure everyone was in the right place. Plus, she gave us amazing supplier recommendations that didn't cost the earth, so she basically paid for herself!
On top of all that, she actually agreed to dress up as the Pope for our Sister Act theme! She is so warm, funny, and organised, and she honestly made our wedding.
Since the wedding, Vicky has also done the funerals for two of our friends. Those services were just so incredibly beautiful. I would highly recommend her for absolutely any service or event where you need someone who is organised, supportive, and amazing at speaking.

I stumbled across her instagram account whilst absolutely pulling my hair out trying to figure out who we should trust with arguably the most important part of the day… and boy am I so glad I found her!!!
Cherry was professional but also so personable, warm and friendly and we felt so at ease throughout the whole process - a bonus when wedding prep can be so stressful!
We had a free zoom call initially to see if we vibed, and we just knew she was perfect for us!
Cherry came to our house for a cuppa and we felt so comfortable to just chat about our relationship and love story. We bonded over our love of music particularly motionless in white, and she was genuinely interested and invested in our union which was clear and this was totally confirmed on the day of the ceremony!!!
On the lead up to the big day, Cherry checked in with us to keep us updated with how our ceremony was coming along and ensuring she had all the pieces of our love story to as we had remembered it.
The wedding day. Just wow. Cherry blew everybody away. We were relaxed, laughing, and it was completely enjoyable. Any nerves we had were gone by the time we were listening to Cherry telling our story and reminding us of why we were stood there on the day!
I’ve had so many compliments from people saying that ours was the best wedding ceremony they have ever been to. Commenting on how personal it was. “it was just you and Rhys”. “Your celebrant was amazing”. She was warm, friendly and she made us all laugh - and that is absolutely what we wanted. No robotic tradition, we wanted somebody to celebrate us warmly with humour, and that is absolutely what she did.
Cherry nailed it and we will be forever grateful 🖤
Cherry is the Best
It was clear how much time and effort she puts into really getting to know the couple, from how they met and their journey together leading up to that special day. The funny stories, little quirks, and special moments that made their relationship unique.
She managed to perfectly balance the heartfelt moments alongside plenty of laughter, and her storytelling brought so many smiles to myself and other guests.
If you are looking for a celebrant who's friendly, funny, a little bit outside the norm, and who genuinely cares about making your day truly special, I'd definitely recommend Cherry. It was clear she went above and beyond to create a ceremony that felt authentic, memorable, and completely tailored.

A Brilliant Alternative
From the moment the ceremony started, it was clear this wasn't going to be your typical, formal wedding. Cherry's quirky gothic, rock-and-roll style was brilliant and suited the couple perfectly. She had everyone laughing, then getting a bit emotional, and somehow managed to keep the groom on track too—which is no small achievement!
The ceremony felt really personal, relaxed, and genuinely about the couple. You could tell Cherry had put a lot of time into getting to know them, and it made all the difference. Loads of guests were saying afterwards how much they enjoyed it and how refreshing it was to have something so different.
If you're after a celebrant who's friendly, funny, a little bit alternative, and genuinely cares about making your day special, I'd definitely recommend Cherry. Thanks for helping make it such a brilliant day!

I live in Birmingham; I love it here. I tried to live in Devon, came home after 6 weeks, haha!
Here are some random facts about me - if any of these are your vibe, then I think we'll work well together
> I have been to every Download festival; I even got proposed to there and got married there too!
>I love to travel - fav places include Cambodia, Vietnam, New Zealand, Zurich, Nice & South Korea
> I have 9 tattoos including a tribute to my Dad, Manic Street Preachers and 2 number 13's.
> I played roller derby for around 15 years with Birmingham Roller Derby - mediocre at best, but it did mean I got to travel and play in Helsinki, Miami, Lille, Ghent and loads of places in the UK,
> I have been a roller derby broadcaster for around 10 years, talking over the internet and in-house, including 4 World Cups, World Championship games and even did some games on the BBC
> I've been line dancing for a few years now, again I'd say mediocre, but I give it full beans, watch me do Shivers, you'll see!
> I love coffee, gin, red wine, BBQ food and curry. I'm from Birmingham, of course; I love curry!
