Led by Susan Paul, a TLC Marriage Officer, couples can have a legal wedding ceremony that is personal, meaningful and completely shaped around them.
Susan takes time to get to know each couple—how they met, what makes them laugh, the people who matter to them and what they want their day to feel like. Their story is then brought to life naturally, with warmth, humour and plenty of personality.
There is no set formula. Ceremonies can be intimate and simple, full of laughter and family involvement, or include meaningful traditions and symbolic elements such as handfasting, sharing a quaich or personal vows. Couples are supported throughout, from the first conversation and ceremony planning through to the wedding day itself.
Based in Dundee and regularly working across Angus, Perthshire, Fife, Aberdeenshire and further afield, Susan is happy to travel throughout Scotland.

Susan took the time to meet with us several times, both together and individually, to really get to know us and our love story. She stayed in touch regularly in the lead-up to the big day, giving us gentle nudges when we needed to write our vows or send off important paperwork. Her guidance made the whole process smooth and stress-free.
We wanted a chilled, laid-back ceremony that felt truly us, and Susan absolutely delivered. Everything was personalised, thoughtful, and filled with warmth. She struck the perfect balance of humour and professionalism, making us feel completely relaxed throughout the ceremony.
As soon as I saw her on the day, all my nerves disappeared — I just knew we were in safe hands. So many of our guests commented on how incredible she was, and one of the most special touches was the beautiful keepsake booklet she created of our ceremony. It’s something we’ll treasure for years to come.
I honestly couldn’t fault her. If you’re looking for a celebrant who is genuine, organised, kind, and completely dedicated to making your ceremony perfect. Susan’s your gal!

Hi, I'm Susan the person behind In Safe Hands Ceremonies - TLC Marriage Officer.
I love getting to know my couples properly - hearing how you met, the things that make you laugh, the people who matter to you and what you really want your wedding day to feel like.
For me, a great ceremony should sound like you. It can be relaxed and full of laughter, traditional in places, include meaningful rituals, religion elements or none. Or be completely different from anything your guests are expecting.
As a Marriage Officer I can conduct your legal wedding ceremony pretty much anywhere in Scotland, as long as we have the relevant permissions if required.
I'll be there to guide you through the whole process, answer any questions you think might be silly (they're not!) and make sure that when the day arrives, you can simply enjoy it.
