Prior to becoming a celebrant, I gained over 30 years experience in my previous employments, all of which were very much focussed on working with people. I also have a background in public speaking, both within those occupations, but also as an after dinner speaker and at Burns Suppers. As a devoted family man, I am pleased to also mention that my teenage son has now spoken at several Burns Suppers, following on in my footsteps. (A future humanist perhaps?)

When it comes to composing your ceremony, the way I see it is there is no right or wrong in what you choose to include, because this is not a “One size fits all” type of thing. My goal will be to work with you, guide you, make suggestions to you, and to compose something that is personal, special and unique to you, to accurately reflect your lives, and the love you share for one another. Together we will create a ceremony that both you, as well as your families and friends will remember for the rest of your lives!

I also have vast experience in dealing with families during their times of loss and grief. These are never easy moments in peoples lives. If I were to be able to help you, and provide a tailored, personal and fitting tribute to the life your loved one lived, and to be able to share their story with family and friends at their funeral ceremony, I would consider it a privilege and an honour to do so.

My background in music and performance means I love to tell a good story! It’s always
wonderful to hear couples talking about how they met, perhaps with some particular
romantic moments and funny memories they’ve had along the way, and then to weave
those strands together into a beautiful ceremony that will be remembered forever.
I also believe it is hugely important to tell with compassion and respect the story of a loved
one who has passed away. As an experienced counsellor, I will listen empathically to a

I have lived and worked in Glasgow all my life and have two adult children currently studying at university.
As a marriage officer I have one of the best and most satisfying jobs. I get to meet couples who are so in love they want to commit to each other for the rest of their lives. It is an absolute privilege to be a part of their special day.

I take great pleasure working with couples to create the perfect ceremony and give them and their guests a day to remember for the rest of their lives.

I am based in the South Lanarkshire area and love to tell people that being a Celebrant is the perfect vocation for me.

I get a great deal of job satisfaction when I deliver an amazing ceremony for my couples.

I love meeting my couples for the first time and telling them what they can expect during ‘their ceremony’ and noting ‘their story’.

It really is a ‘labour of love’ for me when I conduct my ceremonies and I consider myself to be in a very privileged position when my couples trust me with the most important day of their lives.

I am married with two daughters and have previously worked in various roles within the tourist industry. While raising my girls, I completed a degree in literature and creative writing, and published two books. I live in Falkirk and am married with two grown-up daughters. Prior to becoming a Celebrant
I was a Drama Teacher for 28 years during which time I had the pleasure of working with
many fantastic young people, providing them with a safe environment and encouraging them
to become confident in expressing their individuality. As a Celebrant, my aim is to help you
explore the possibilities and create a unique experience for you, your family and friends
whether that is at a time of sadness as you prepare to say goodbye to a loved one or a time of

I live in Hamilton with my wife of 14 years, and our two amazing children.

I am a family man with two grown up sons and three grand children. I have spent over 30 years in public service and have gained a wide variety of experience in working with people. I believe we should live our lives with sound moral and ethical principals and care for one and other.

Your wedding day will be one of the most happiest days of your life and as your wedding celebrant I will be there to advise on the style, structure and content of your ceremony to create one that is perfect for you and your guests.

Your ceremony will be tailored to your specific needs and can be as formal or light-hearted as you wish but ultimately you will decide on the content of the ceremony and it will be without doubt a day you will remember for the rest of your lives.

Being a Celebrant is a perfect job for me. I am very much a people person and get a tremendous amount of job satisfaction when I meet new people and help plan their perfect wedding day. I am an accomplished public presenter with many years experience as a keynote, media, and after dinner speaker.

My emphasis is always that this is ‘your’ ceremony, ‘your’ special day.
