About Me

I’m Richard Lavender, and I am devoted to creating memorable ceremonies that are deeply personal and engaging for everyone involved. My aim is always to deliver an experience that keeps your uniqueness at its core — balancing heartfelt fun with the perfect measure of professionalism.

I deliver over 35 ceremonies each year, so I believe I must be doing something right… just ask my couples!

Hosting & Toastmaster Services

Lavender Celebrants is built on the principle that love has no boundaries and deserves to be celebrated regardless of identity. I offer a wide range of services, from LGBTQ+ ceremonies and outdoor weddings to full-day hosting and Toastmaster duties.

There is no limit to the possibilities for your iconic union — only opportunities to highlight your bond in the most authentic way possible. I am open to incorporating many traditions, including handfasting, jumping the broom, unity candles, sand ceremonies, and more.

I look forward to meeting you and discussing the finer details that will give you and your loved ones an everlasting memory.

Pricing

  • Weekdays: from £550

  • Weekends: £650 (discounted rate – usually £750 if booked through Hitched enquiry)

Could not have asked for a better celebrant!

Where to even start! Richard was PERFECT. From the first contact to meeting with him to go over everything and then finally on the big day, Richard was SO lovely. We genuinely couldn't imagine the day without him! He was very kind and very funny, which made what could easily feel like a very stiff and boring affair more engaging and fun! Between his genuinely warm and welcoming attitude and the beautifully bespoke ceremony, he had our wedding guests laughing and crying all through the ceremony. We were also quite lucky to have hired him to stay as our host master, as he made the transition into the wedding breakfast and reception flow beautifully, even with the hiccup of a late band! He kept great control of our small bunch and got them hyped and ready for a fun night. So many of our family and friends had to rave about how much they loved him. If you're in need of a celebrant who really cares and will strive to make your day feel perfect, we would undoubtedly recommend Richard. This is a man who truly loves what he does and executes it with care!

Celebrant, Toast Master and So Much More!

We are SO glad we asked Richard to run our wedding day for us! Officially, Richard carried out our ceremony and hosted our whole day... but actually he did so much more!

Richard really cares about and invests in his couples. We met with him three times prior to our wedding - first just as a no pressure chat and introduction and then twice in the weeks leading up to our wedding to discuss our ceremony which was written bespoke to us. We felt completely listened to in terms of the style and vibe we wanted.

On the day Richard turned up early and helped calmed nerves and get guests into the right place at the right time. He delivered a beautiful ceremony and then basically ran our day! He assisted our venue and photographer with coordinating people and timings, he was toastmaster for our speeches and helped everything to run smoothly.

Having Richard on board felt like such a weight lifted, he knew our vision and helped turn it into reality on the day. We would not hesitate to recommend him. Thank you once again, Richard.

A perfect celebrant for our perfect day

We couldn't recommend Richard highly enough. His contact prior to our big day was excellent, always making time for us even though we knew he was very busy. Richard insisting on meeting us beforehand, really putting us at ease and giving us brilliant guidance as he crafted us the perfect ceremony. Richard arrived an hour before the ceremony started, just to check that we were ok and that everything was in order. The ceremony was so personal as well as emotional and funny in equal measure, we had the best day of our lives and we have been inundated with compliments from our guests about how much they loved the originality of the ceremony and how fantastic Richard was as well.

Great Days become Memorable Days

Richard was great fun to work with from the outset. Consummate professional who guided us through the day and made it such a memorable experience for both Ann and myself. You need someone with Richard's experience to take the pressure of the day away and convert it to laughter.......

I have managed to catch a couple of this celebrants weddings this year and can honestly say his service is impeccable.

He always makes the couples feel at ease and takes control of the day.

The services have been very emotional even I have laughed and almost cried at times, they are individual to each couple with their own memories, stories and hopes for the future.

I will definitely be using him for my wedding in the near future.

I would definitely recommend Richard, he couldn’t do enough for us in the lead up to the wedding along with making our special day perfect!
We had Richard stay throughout the day as a toastmaster and he put me and my husband at ease as he organised everybody and we’re they needed to be!
He wrote our ceremony perfect and had people laughing as well as crying and remembering our day being personal to us.

Thank you Richard, you going above and beyond did not go unnoticed.
