Thank you so much to Lalitha, Niamh, Pablo and the team for all their hard work and for making our wedding reception so incredibly special. The team were attentive, the setting was beautiful, and everything ran seamlessly. The location was perfect for our service at the nearby St Peter’s RC Church on Jewry Street, making the day flow effortlessly. Our guests had a wonderful time, and the day felt truly special.

A big thank you to your staff for making our wedding our best day ever, everything was perfect from Liz grand entrance on the steps to our stunning photographs throughout the Guildhall and Abbey Gardens.

We chose the Hotel Du Vin as we love Winchester and it was the perfect intimate but classy venue to host our family wedding. Sally & Sam were great from a wedding engagement perspective & the day was just what we wanted. Everything from the food to the drinks & service was fab. We stayed in the signature suite which was the perfect backdrop for wedding morning prep photos & I would highly recommend the venue.

We cannot thank Jack and the team enough for how perfectly our day went. From our initial visit to the Pavilion through to the day Jack was helpful, responsive and knowledgeable. We were incredibly lucky with the weather and the garden looked amazing with the plants in bloom. We opted for a BBQ in place of a sit down meal and the guests all commented on how great the food was (including our vegetarian, vegan and gluten free guests!). No request was too much for the team, from amending canape choices, swapping sides for the BBQ, various dietary requirements and any specific drinks we wanted offered at the bar. Our guests were truly blown away by the location, a private garden on a sunny Saturday with stunning views of the cathedral. A perfect combo! All of the staff on the day were incredibly friendly and helpful which made the day run so smoothly. Jack ensured we were happy throughout the day with a few check-ins and helping us run vaguely to time as the day flew by! We truly had the most amazing day as did our guests. Cannot recommend the team at The Winchester Hotel & Spa enough, they were incredible. From the run time of our entire day to the finer details of finishing touches. They were so thorough and brought in their expertise along the way (especially with the timings). They worked to our budget and The Crystal Room looked stunning, decorated to perfection! Cannot thank the staff enough, the same staff at the reception were at breakfast the next morning and it was so nice to build the relationships in such a small space of time.

We had our wedding in May 2026 and it was perfect from the first showround until we left the hotel as a married couple!! Our wedding co-ordinator was there throughout the whole process and went out of her way to ensure we had everything ready for our special day! We had a 70 people in our wedding ceremony for a seated wedding breakfast as well as an evening BBQ for additional 30 guests for the evening bit. I can honestly recommend this venue and staff so highly, so if you want to plan your wedding with no stress and ease - that's the right venue for you.

We were so impressed with the venue on the day. All the staff were so friendly and approachable. The food was fantastic! We found that everything went very smoothly and if there were any problems (which there weren't!), we felt that we could easily approach a member of staff and ask. Harvey and I are very grateful for your help in organising. You're brilliant at your job and made us feel at ease with everything that was planned! If there are any awards for the University of Winchester staff or for wedding venue coordinators, we would happily nominate you!

The Barn at Avington was the perfect venue for our weekend wedding — we truly couldn’t have asked for more. From the moment we booked, the team were so helpful, answering every question quickly and making the whole planning process feel smooth and stress-free. Rob and Yasmin are incredibly friendly and always happy to help — nothing ever felt like too much trouble. The venue itself is stunning and incredibly versatile. We loved being able to turn it into a full weekend celebration: starting with a relaxed BBQ and hilarious Squid Games in the quarry, followed by camping in the bell tents in the field opposite. The large field car park meant everyone could join without any worry. Our ceremony took place on the beautiful pontoon on the river, which felt magical. Afterward, we had cocktail hour on the lawn, before moving into the barn for the wedding breakfast and reception — it flowed so naturally and created such a great atmosphere. The barn is perfect for a DIY-style wedding with loads of flexibility and some really lovely extras you can use, like tables, chairs and decorations. The barn provide a paid for bar in the evening and a major bonus: no corkage fee during the day! The on-site cottages were also a huge perk — comfortable, stylish, and ideal for close family and friends. Also the toilets and showers in the barn for those camping are modern, clean, and well-maintained — something guests definitely appreciated! Another massive plus is the setup time: you can start preparing from Tuesday and have until Monday to pack down, which gave us all the breathing space we needed. We genuinely couldn’t recommend The Barn at Avington more highly — it’s beautiful, practical, and gives you so much freedom to make your wedding weekend truly your own.
