We had our wedding in September which was planned with less than 5 months notice. Our point of contact was Jack, and he did an unbelievable job to find a package that worked for us.

The venue looks fantastic, with a beautiful walled garden. This made for a great location to have a lot of our photos.

We had 65 day guests which were comfortably seated - I suspect we could have fit closer to 80. In the evening we had a total of 110 guests and this filled the venue nicely.

The staff were fantastic and super helpful.

We would definitely recommend the venue and Jack for anyone considering their wedding venue.

We had our wedding at Winchester Cathedral in May. We had our blessing ceremony in the Wessex room and our reception in the Pavilion. Both rooms are absolutely beautiful. Jack was super helpful and communicative in the lead up to the wedding and very patient answering all our emails and questions! He also did an amazing job on the day, ensuring everything went smoothly and he went above and beyond to make the day special. We had so many lovely comments from the guests about how stunning the venue was. The catering was also excellent and all the staff on the day were so attentive and friendly. We would not hesitate to recommend the venue and we are so pleased we chose it!

Firstly it was an absolute pleasure to have Winchester Cathedral as our venue for our wedding and the process over the last 2 years has been made stress free, fun and enjoyable by the amazing Team they have headed by Jack.

From help with decision making on which chapels would suit our numbers best to make sure our wedding party and guests were catered for and everything in between Jack and the team at the Cathedral worked effectively to ensure the day ran smoothly.

I would strongly recommend that you consider Winchester Cathedral for your wedding and the newly built Garden Pavilion is top tier for the a lovely spring/summer wedding/reception with open lawns spaces, beautiful views of the Cathedral and indoor seating area for your meal and of course you can’t forget about space to dance and have some drinks in the evening with an indoor bar as well. The staff during the run up to the wedding were always so helpful and friendly likewise with staff on and after the big day, helping to set up and pack away as much as possible to make the experience relaxing.

Also, if you want to include different types of cuisine within your wedding breakfast don’t be afraid to make the request as the chefs are able to provide dishes that are fitting for the momentous occasion.

From the venue to the staff to the service provided, Winchester Cathedral will allow you to live the dream of having your special day just the way you want it.

We had our wedding reception in July 2024 at Winchester Cathedral and we cannot thank the team enough for making this day simply amazing. From our initial tour Jack explained every fine detail of the venue and the bespoke offerings that they had, we were incredibly surprised to find out that you are able to have a Wedding Blessing at Winchester Cathedral! The whole team went above and beyond to look after everyone and we have had such lovely comments from all of our guests on how well looked after they were. Highly recommend this venue, we will cherish all our memories of our special day for the rest of our lives

Jack and the team at the Cathedral Refectory were incredible and our day just wouldn’t have been as good if we’d gone anywhere else. Jack’s attentive, caring, communicative, listens and reassures at every step of the way. His team are hardworking, kind and full of smiles, which really added to our day 😊 The venue is just WOW - every single guest commented on how stunning the backdrop of the day was; it’s the hidden gem of Winchester! Have your wedding at Winchester Cathedral Venues and work with Jack, you really won’t regret it; in fact, they will exceed your expectations and make your dreams come true. The only downside is we won’t get to work with Jack and the stunning venue again (unless we can find a reason to have another huge party!)

We couldn’t fault Jack and his team on our wedding day. From our first enquiry to our dream day, everything was perfect. Nothing was too much for Jack and he made us feel at ease throughout the months leading up to it. We had no wedding stress, we thought it was too good to be true! Our wedding day then came and we were blown away. It was everything we dreamed of. Jack was there on the day to make sure everything went as planned and our guest were full of compliments on how attentive he and the rest of the staff were. The food was incredible too. We have only the best things to say about our experience with Winchester Cathedral Venues. From our very first enquiry, the team could not have been more helpful, making time at short notice to show us round, and being patient with us as it took time to finalise the date. Jack was both laid back and super-organised - we felt in safe hands throughout and had a wonderful day. The food was also sensational.

We wanted to get married in the city which we live and to be perfectly honest there weren’t a huge amount of options to suit our numbers and budget. We had our ceremony at the Guildhall but with no outside space it wasn’t the option for us when it came to our reception. The Wessex Centre is completely private and the use of the Undercroft as an additional space should the weather turn made it perfect for us and our guests.
The food was brilliant, they completely surpassed our expectations. The food tasting was great and a good opportunity to meet Rob who was going to be running things on the day. He made us feel at ease and nothing was too much trouble.
In the run up to the wedding, Lindsey was great at promptly answering all my questions. We arrived the day before the wedding to add a few finishing touches to the room. The team had already set up our fairy lights, bunting and tables and everything looked great.
On the day it was no trouble that we arrived a little earlier than planned. The staff were great at catering for everyone’s needs. They even kept the food warm of one of our guests with a small child who had to take the child off during the middle of the meal.
The day ran really smoothly and despite the odd rain shower we were able to enjoy the inside and outside space at the Wessex Centre. Our guests all commented on what a beautiful setting it was and how lovely the food had been. We would thoroughly recommend booking your wedding at the Wessex Centre.

We had a fantastic day everything ran very smoothly and the staff worked hard to make it a really great day. In the run up to the day the organisers were really helpful, flexible and provided ideas when needed. It is a real gem and a fantastic location. Well, what a fab time we had and in no small part to the staff in the cathedral venue, especially bearing in mind, there was a change of catering company, and a change of staff, but Lindsey, and Rob made sure they had done all their homework to ensure that we had a wonderful, and memorable day. So much effort was put into it by the staff, even the night before with 6 of us sorting out the bunting for half an hour! On the day, they all made sure that the Wessex Centre looked fabulous. The cathedral grounds, and venue are, of course, beautiful, but it wouldn’t matter if the staff didn’t offer such dedicated service, but they surpassed themselves. We were both so happy, and pleased with the day. Everybody who came thoroughly enjoyed it, and there were compliments galore about everything. The venue, the food, everything.
I would thoroughly recommend going to the cathedral events for your wedding. They will listen to you, advise, and make sure that you are happy with everything. It couldn’t have been better. Thank you so much to all!
