We had a weekend summer wedding at Errol Park, and it was everything we wanted. Errol was the first venue we viewed and we instantly fell in love with it. The perfect mix of Bridgerton or Austenite quiet luxury with vast outdoor space, panoramic views, and a party zone (The Stables) for night time. Colin, the venue coordinator, was super accessible, relaxed, and obviously experienced - you felt in very safe hands, which is a welcome feeling during wedding planning chaos! It was really important to us that we could have our parents and bridal party onsite with us, so renting the venue for two nights was a dream. The huge kitchen space meant we could host those staying in the house for a pizza party the night before the big day. A few months before the wedding, the newly finished West Wing opened, and we were able to update our booking to include that space for the groomsmen to stay and get ready in, making for some amazing photos. There are also some massive rooms, which our friends with babies could stay in, so they could set up cradles, and modern rooms with step-free access and showers for our elderly relatives. Our wedding was very much our own, with handmade decorations and bunting, doing our own flowers the day before, the groom DJing, and a bit of a school disco vibe in the evening - the Errol team didn’t bat an eyelid. We felt so welcomed by Colin and his team, and couldn’t be more grateful that we had our dream day in such a place. We don’t even know where to start in being able to thank the whole team at Hopetoun House in being a part of our most amazing wedding on Saturday! From the very first time we visited and were wowed driving up to the house, our whole experience of the venue and the people has been first class!! Working with Clare, Angela, Donald, Piers and the Hopetoun and Heritage teams has been professional, yet so very personal and we can not thank you all enough! Everything on our most special day ran like clockwork and the teams worked so hard to make sure ourselves and all of our guests had the best day ever! Hopetoun House as our wedding venue brought history, beauty, and the wow factor all together and combining these with the impeccable staff and service, gave us a wedding day that neither ourselves or our guests will ever forget! Myself and my mum and bridal party arrived the evening before to spend the night preparing in a lodge with a hot tub. On the morning of, we went up to the getting ready suite which has a huge outdoor patio, big living room and great space to get ready in including lighted mirrors. The venue staff looked after us so well all day and the food was amazing. And most of our guests stayed in the lodges which meant that after the party was done we could all party together to debrief from the most amazing day. The events coordinator Polly was an absolute dream along with all the other staff who was there to support me and my husband every second of the day.

We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful setting for our wedding. Cambo Estate is absolutely stunning both outside and inside (you’ll get gorgeous pictures too) From the lead-up to the wedding, Joanne and Dana were always happy to help with any questions we had and were incredibly accommodating whenever we needed anything. We would definitely recommend Cambo Estate, our day was everything we hoped for and more. All of our guests loved the venue!

We got married at Newhall in May 2026. Newhall is a stunning venue and the staff are amazing. Newhall is definitely a hidden gem. The venue is beautiful. There are a choice of event spaces which are all lovely and they all offer different things. The house is also an excellent place to stay with your friends and family which extends your wedding weekend which we found very special! The grounds are also amazing which is lovely for photos. This sentiment was echoed by all of our guests. The Newhall staff are all amazing and look to make sure your day goes smoothly! They worked through all of our planning to help make the day we wanted all come together. They were always there to help us do anything we needed or to make sure everyone knew where/when things were happening. On our wedding day there was no running around for us and we could enjoy our day! All of our guests commented on the lovely helpful staff too. The whole weekend format that Newhall takes is excellent! Our wedding day passed so quickly which made staying with our close family and friends over the weekend extra special. It allowed us the time to see them all properly. The Friday was lovely to come in and setup all of our decorations and see that the venue is setup the way we wanted for the big day! We can’t recommend Newhall enough! It is a very special venue.

We were looking for a venue that could provide most things in house as we wanted to avoid having lots of different vendors to coordinate and we truly could not have asked for a better venue and team than we received at Carberry Tower. From the moment we arrived for our first tour over 2 years ago up until the days after our wedding, the team was absolutely incredible. The venue itself is absolutely stunning both indoor and out making it the perfect venue when having to factor in the uncertainty of Scottish weather. They have multiple different room options for each part of the wedding celebration which we loved as it allowed us to tailor our day to the aesthetic we envisioned whilst removing the hassle of room turnovers. The bedrooms are all very comfortable and many of our guests praised the accommodation options and breakfast in the morning. They also have some townhouses onsite which are very spacious and worked very well for myself and my bridesmaids the night before and for some of the larger families we had attending. Our main point of contact was Lauren who was absolutely amazing, and always extremely attentive and quick to reply to my many emails and phone calls. She was very patient with us when we ran into uncertainty with my (now husbands!) visa process and helped us navigate through a very difficult few weeks. On the day of our wedding she was such a calming presence and did an amazing job of making sure everything ran smoothly and in the way we wanted it to. On the couple of occasions Lauren was out of the office, Rebecca and the other girls on the team stepped in to make sure our queries were answered in a timely fashion. Jo the estate manager was also incredible and went above and beyond to make sure our wedding was everything we dreamed of, from being tech support for my dads speech (and PowerPoint presentation!) to having highland cows in the rose gardens for us we couldn’t have asked for more. He was there to meet us on arrival the day before to help make sure everything was set up for us and checked in with us throughout the day to make sure everything was running as we wanted it to. Jenna was in charge of our food and beverages both for our tasting and on the day and we couldn’t fault her. She did a great job of checking everyone had the correct meal and that all allergens were accounted for, as well as chasing a wasp that was tormenting our nephew out of the banqueting pavilion, and snapping a few photos of us during our firework display since our photographers had already left. She also made sure to keep a tray of canapés aside for myself and my husband and kept our desserts in the back for us to make sure we didn’t miss out when we were having photos taken. Many of our guests commented on how good both our wedding breakfast and evening buffet were which was something really important to us as we have both been to weddings where the food has been subpar and we didn’t want to be that couple. For the few things carberry doesn’t do in house that have a great list of recommended suppliers and were more than happy to help us find vendors for things they hadn’t had before. All in all Carberry was the perfect venue for us and we are so grateful to everyone on the team for making our planning experience so easy and our day so special!

Penicuik Estate was the absolute best choice for our wedding, and I attribute all the magic of our day to this amazing venue. We had a small (16 people) destination wedding in late June 2026, and we were looking for a venue where we and our guests could stay at for at least 3 nights without needing to leave the property, have all our meals onsite, close to Edinburgh, convenient for people to travel to, and most importantly a place where everybody could be together. Penicuik met all our criteria. The venue is capable of holding both intimate and large gatherings, but we splurged for this venue for our intimate group, and I’m so happy we did. Everyone, and I mean everyone, still talks about how amazing the rooms were, how beautiful the estate was, and the amazing service! It honestly took all of our breaths away when we pulled up. It’s both the most elegant and glamorous place that I’ve ever stayed at, while simultaneously being a cozy retreat. I grieve every day that I’m not there, and I’m not exaggerating. I still dream about it! Also, their amazing partnership with Edinburgh Catering Company meant that our food, both breakfast and dinner dinners, were honestly some of the best meals we’ve ever had. Now I worked with a wedding planner (Amanda from COORIE) and so I didn’t interact too frequently with Penicuik on logistics. However, I did ask them to set up a heritage/history tour of the property on our first day, afternoon tea in the courtyard for our welcome party, and a whiskey tasting for our reception. Every event went off without a hitch and was more than I could’ve asked for. Now, to be honest, we booked this venue when it was still under renovations, so I’m assuming the price may have gone up since we booked. But I’d go back in a heartbeat, no question. It’s worth all we paid.

Our wedding at McArthur Manor (01 October 2025) was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, Nicholas and Andy made us feel at home, supported, and genuinely cared for. By the time we said “I do,” it felt like we’d gained two new friends. The Manor is breathtaking — traditional, cosy, and full of character. Our guests loved exploring the 30 beautiful ensuite rooms, the woodland grounds, the courtyard, and the many social spaces throughout the house. The function suite was perfect for our 60‑guest celebration, and the lounges and bars created lovely pockets for conversation and relaxation. Andy’s food was a highlight of the entire weekend. From afternoon tea to breakfasts to our Mexican family‑style feast, everything was delicious, thoughtful, and beautifully catered for all dietary needs. Our guests are still talking about it. Nicholas’ organisation made the whole planning process effortless. Timelines, allergens, room allocations — every detail was handled with care. We never felt stressed, only excited. McArthur Manor is a venue with heart. Nicholas and Andy pour themselves into every moment, and it shows. We would recommend it 1000 times over

Thank you very much for all you did to make our Wedding day so perfect; it really was a fairytale come true. We hope to return to beautiful Traquair House for our anniversary.

We cannot recommend Oswald House highly enough. From the moment we started planning to the final goodbye the morning after, everything was handled with such care, professionalism, and genuine warmth. Having viewed several other venues, we can confidently say that Oswald offers a far superior experience—not only in service and setting, but also in value for money. Communication & Planning Amy was absolutely superb. Her communication gave us complete peace of mind throughout the planning process. Every detail was carefully discussed and confirmed—arrival music, background playlists, furniture layout, timings, drinks service, food preferences, and even provisions for our other vendors. She made sure nothing was overlooked. Personal Touches & Flexibility Oswald House went above and beyond to make our day uniquely ours. They sourced specific wines and non-alcoholic beers we wanted, accommodated our décor preferences with a wide range of table covers and seating options, and even took in advance items like our guest boxes and postbox. We also had a “secret mission” game planned for the children, and they handled it all seamlessly. The Venue & Atmosphere The Georgian mansion and its stunning grounds were the perfect backdrop—elegant yet relaxed. Whether you’re hosting a small or large gathering, the venue adapts beautifully. We had two long dining tables set up in the ballroom, which looked incredibly refined. The Garden Room was also beautifully arranged with a mix of sofas by the fire and seated tables, creating a cozy and sociable space separate from the main dining area. We also had the option to use the conservatory, which was lovely to have as a backup or breakout space. The bar area was excellent—not only a great space for drinks and mingling, but also where our photographer set up a fun photo booth station that guests absolutely loved. The entrance hall, with its grand layout and spectacular open fire, naturally became the hub of socialising throughout the day and evening. The whole house felt like ours for the weekend, and it lent itself perfectly to an atmosphere that was welcoming, elegant, and full of joy. On the Day Experience The team made sure everything ran perfectly. Our favours were thoughtfully placed, and the staff ensured every guest received the right meal without needing to remember their choices. The canapés were a hit, the meal itself was exceptional, and the evening chippie and pots were a huge success. The sweetie station, even months later, is still being talked about! Guest & Vendor Care Guests raved about their rooms, the helpfulness of the staff, and the overall atmosphere. It truly felt like having the whole house to ourselves. Oswald made everyone feel at home. They also looked after all of our vendors and, by the time we were ready to leave the next day, had packed everything up for us neatly. The breakfast served to all our guests the next morning was incredible and such a lovely final touch. Final Thoughts Oswald House didn’t just host our wedding—they made it. Every detail was handled with care and heart. If you're looking for a venue that combines elegance with warmth, flexibility with professionalism, and beauty with comfort, this is the one. We are so grateful to the team at Oswald. Our wedding was everything we dreamed of and more.
