Newhall Estate centres around Newhall House, a Scottish Baronial house 12 miles south of Edinburgh, close to the Scottish Borders and with good access to the rest of Scotland, including Edinburgh airport.
Newhall is a new exclusive use venue where you can enjoy the privacy, benefits and surroundings of this magnificent rural estate and house. The main house is available to provide accommodation for 29 people and we can also offer 3 cottages adjacent to the house providing additional accommodation for 11 guests. The Estate provides a fantastic place for you to get together with friends and family to celebrate your special day.
The public rooms in the house can also be used as a secluded setting for small, intimate gatherings, private parties. Ideal for those looking for the idyllic setting for a small wedding.
For larger weddings our new Coach House venue immediately adjacent to the house has just been completed and ready for 2020 to 2021 weddings, accommodating up to 120 people it has a marquee awning to increase the capacity to 160. The awning is available from April to the end of September.
Our team can offer a full event management services ensuring your day is tailored to you and perfectly executed.
The Estate has a wide variety of photographic opportunities available in both the walled garden, the grounds and around the house. We can also provide flowers grown in the garden as part of the Flowers from the Farm scheme - locally grown, never flown.

It’s a daunting decision deciding to go ahead with a wedding this year, especially if it’s one you might not have initially envisaged due to the current regulations.
However, speaking from experience, we can honestly say we’re so glad we persevered. The whole day was the intimate wedding we hadn’t thought about before, but now we couldn’t recommend enough. Saying that, the decision to continue was made a whole lot easier by the suppliers who made it possible. Especially those at Newhall Estate.
Jak, Tricia and Ben make a fantastic team. Welcomed from the first visit, we knew Newhall was somewhere we could fashion a wedding that was truly our own. From the moment we arrived on the Friday, we were made to feel as though the house was our own. Jak maintained constant and clear communication with us throughout, interpreting the restrictions and seamlessly making the whole event possible. If nothing else, you must let Tricia do your flowers. Obviously a seasoned horticulturalist, she knows well what works and our arrangements couldn’t have been more perfect. -
