The historic Mansion House has over 200 years of tradition. With beautiful surroundings, delectable food, and outstanding service, you can find everything you need for a memorable celebration. The Mansion House at Edinburgh Zoo is licensed to host humanist, and civil ceremonies in a variety of locations.
Your day
You can start your day in our light and airy Keith Room or the traditional Library. Both rooms are perfect for your wedding day preparation. You can use exclusively as your bridal suite and you can get ready without worrying being late for your big day.
The stunning Macmillan room provides a breathtaking backdrop for your ceremony. The room overlooks glorious manicured gardens, the historic city of Edinburgh, and the Pentland Hills. This space is elegantly white for your preferred decoration and features a grand period fireplace.
Following the ceremony you and your guests can enjoy the zoo, offering countless photo opportunities amidst the breathtaking scenery and diverse array of wildlife. From the majestic lions and playful penguins to the colorful birds and exotic species, your wedding will be surrounded by the wonders of the natural world, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
The spectacular oak-panelled Geddes & Gillespie Suite will host a delicious wedding breakfast. The suite offers direct access to the beautiful gardens, boasting magnificent scenery and panoramic views. The lively atmosphere of this unique venue will excite your senses and create a truly unforgettable wedding day. For your evening reception, up to 120 loved ones can join you.
Each room is exquisitely designed to host intimate ceremonies, lavish receptions, and everything in between, ensuring your celebration is as unique as your love story. Come visit us.

Wonderful venue, professional friendly staff
May the 4th wedding
Before our day the communication was professional and arranging face to face meetings for last minute nerves and queries were met with patience and positivity.
Nothing was too much trouble and our requests were all seen to with a smile.
On the day the team were amazing and the building and grounds were breathtaking.

On the day of and day before the wedding, Ben made us feel so relaxed by coordinating the full event so we could enjoy it to the fullest.
Fantastic Venue
Amazing planning and on-the-day coordination from a fabulous team at Mansion House!
The ceremony room is beautiful, the location was perfect for us, as it is such an easy venue for guests to park at or get public transport to and from. We loved the fact that we could both get ready in rooms within the venue itself - couples can easily avoid each other if they wanted to but we loved the option to spend some time together in the morning whilst also having plenty of space to get ready. The room for "the boys" is a really special library, and "the girls" have a lovely bright room which is ideal for hair and make-up: getting ready to the sounds of monkeys in the early morning was pretty special!
The venue combined so many of the key elements we were looking for - a traditional venue (with a twist!). We had guests with accessibility requirements which the venue worked with us to accommodate with ease. The option for our guests to explore the zoo during the reception and whilst we had our photos taken meant that everyone was kept well entertained in what can otherwise be a "slower" time.
The Mansion House events team were so accommodating and helpful in the lead up to and on the day itself - we can only thank them for all of their support, kindness, and flexibility which helped everything go smoothly on the day. The staff were consistently professional and personable, and we received lots of compliments on the food as well!

Uniquely Amazing
Fantastic venue
On the day itself, the venue looked beautiful and all the catering staff were so friendly and helpful from start to finish. Their professionalism, warmth and efficiency was impressive. We had some guests with mobility issues and others with special dietary requirements and all were catered to throughout the whole day/evening with ease. The meal we had was delicious and all our guests as well as us (the happy couple) thoroughly enjoyed the day. Would highly recommend Edinburgh Zoo/Mansion house to anyone looking for a wedding venue.

On the day everyone was so friendly and helpful and did everything they could to make the day go as well as possible and the food was amazing.

This October, we’re opening the doors to Mansion House at Edinburgh Zoo for two special Wedding Fayre dates – and you’re invited.
Set in the heart of the zoo, our historic Mansion House brings together elegant rooms, beautiful gardens, incredible views across Edinburgh and, of course, some rather unusual neighbours.
Come along, explore the spaces, meet our wedding team and start imagining what your day could look like here with hand selected, trusted suppliers.
And when you celebrate at the home of the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland, your special day takes place somewhere with a bigger purpose too, helping create a world where nature is protected, valued and loved.
