We cannot recommend Oswald House highly enough. From the moment we started planning to the final goodbye the morning after, everything was handled with such care, professionalism, and genuine warmth. Having viewed several other venues, we can confidently say that Oswald offers a far superior experience—not only in service and setting, but also in value for money.

Communication & Planning
Amy was absolutely superb. Her communication gave us complete peace of mind throughout the planning process. Every detail was carefully discussed and confirmed—arrival music, background playlists, furniture layout, timings, drinks service, food preferences, and even provisions for our other vendors. She made sure nothing was overlooked.

Personal Touches & Flexibility
Oswald House went above and beyond to make our day uniquely ours. They sourced specific wines and non-alcoholic beers we wanted, accommodated our décor preferences with a wide range of table covers and seating options, and even took in advance items like our guest boxes and postbox. We also had a “secret mission” game planned for the children, and they handled it all seamlessly.

The Venue & Atmosphere
The Georgian mansion and its stunning grounds were the perfect backdrop—elegant yet relaxed. Whether you’re hosting a small or large gathering, the venue adapts beautifully.

We had two long dining tables set up in the ballroom, which looked incredibly refined. The Garden Room was also beautifully arranged with a mix of sofas by the fire and seated tables, creating a cozy and sociable space separate from the main dining area. We also had the option to use the conservatory, which was lovely to have as a backup or breakout space.

The bar area was excellent—not only a great space for drinks and mingling, but also where our photographer set up a fun photo booth station that guests absolutely loved. The entrance hall, with its grand layout and spectacular open fire, naturally became the hub of socialising throughout the day and evening.

The whole house felt like ours for the weekend, and it lent itself perfectly to an atmosphere that was welcoming, elegant, and full of joy.

On the Day Experience
The team made sure everything ran perfectly. Our favours were thoughtfully placed, and the staff ensured every guest received the right meal without needing to remember their choices. The canapés were a hit, the meal itself was exceptional, and the evening chippie and pots were a huge success. The sweetie station, even months later, is still being talked about!

Guest & Vendor Care
Guests raved about their rooms, the helpfulness of the staff, and the overall atmosphere. It truly felt like having the whole house to ourselves. Oswald made everyone feel at home. They also looked after all of our vendors and, by the time we were ready to leave the next day, had packed everything up for us neatly. The breakfast served to all our guests the next morning was incredible and such a lovely final touch.

My husband and I planned to get married at Oswald shortly after it had been taken over by the new owners Sarah & Doug. At the time the building was being renovated therefore we didn’t actually 100% know what the venue would look like on our day. What I can say is that they have done it beautifully! We had planned our day right down to the last detail with Sarah & Kerrie and couldn’t not have been happier with their help and support. Nothing was too much trouble and were able to have everything we wanted on our day. Sadly like many wedding ours had to be postponed due to covid, however, even with covid, we were able to reduce our numbers and have the most special intimate wedding which could only have been made possible with the help of Sarah & Kerrie. The decor was beautiful, the food was amazing which was confirmed by all our guests! We could not have pictures a better day and it is all down to the staff here. Anything we needed, wanted there was nothing that was too much. We feel like we got to know the girls so well and now we love catching up with them when we pop in for lunch or a few drinks! We are planning on having our little ones first birthday in the hall we got married and can’t wait to make many more memories here 🤍

The venue was stunning, Kerry the wedding planner was amazing and everyone commented on how amazing she was! Right from when we booked. Kerry gave me lots of her time and was responsive very quickly (even on days off) to make sure I was calm and everything was smooth.

The venue was very flexible and accommodating for all our guests!

Also.. the bridal suite is out of this world!

I cannot fault Oswald House. Every single person we have dealt with has been amazing - from the first look around to our wedding day and beyond. Nothing is too much hassle. Sarah, Kerrie and the team are professional but also down to earth, and willing to do anything to make your day special. Kerrie made our day a breeze! I literally had nothing to worry about - Kerrie handled it all perfectly and just as we wanted. She was always at the end of an email in the run up to the wedding and met with us when I emailed with questions or worries, to check in on our plans and help with planning. It's an extra bonus that this venue is exclusive use as you have the flexibility to make the place your own. I will forever be grateful to Team Oswald for making our day perfect. This place is more than just a wedding venue - they are genuinely interested in you as a couple and want to be part of your journey. We genuinely could not have imagined a better day.
