Hotel Wedding Venues in East Sussex

From the moment I saw this venue I knew I had to get married here. Not only are the grounds and hotel stunning but the staff are the best. The suites are absolutely beautiful and the classic and execs are stunning too! My wedding coordinator was Becca who was amazing. There was no request that was too much for her. She had meetings with us as many times as we wanted, she wasn’t phased when things were moved or changed a lot. She even popped up to see us on the day which was lovely. On the day we had Marc and Jamie who from the moment we arrived at the venue the day before couldn’t have done more. There was nothing that was too much for them and they constantly had everything under control sorting and doing things before you would even think about them. The staff helped us set up and bring everything back to the cars after with no problem at all. When a speech was added last minute they made sure this was 0 stress at all. All day every guest came up to me and said what an amazing venue and that a lot of them wanted to take Jamie home 😂. Would definitely recommend.

We arranged our wedding at The Alfriston in just a few months after celebrating our engagement there in November 2025. It felt like the perfect place for a winter wedding weekend. Lots of our guests stayed with us at the hotel and the atmosphere was wonderful. The staff at The Alfriston went above and beyond to make our celebration so special. The service, food and drinks were great, the rooms so comfortable and it was great to have the bar area and spa to relax in over the weekend. Thank you again for the best experience, we will be back to visit soon, Emma and Josh

We had never really considered a winter wedding. We were looking for something summery - think field with hay bails - festival vibes. But we visited East Sussex National as part of a wedding fair that they were hosting and we arranged a full tour, this was around Christmas time and instantly fell in love with the place. Everything just felt right. Tracey and her team were so supportive throughout, responding quickly to any question we had - never making us feel like we were asking a silly question! We had a number of meetings and opportunities to visit beforehand and everything was smooth and put us at ease. On the day itself, we couldn't have asked for more. The team on the day, lead brilliantly by Rachel, couldn't do more - from the waiters, to the bar staff, to the chefs, we couldn't have asked for more. Some beautiful touches in our room after the wedding really made us feel special. Thank you to the whole team who made our special day perfect.

From the moment we viewed The Gallivant we knew we had to have our wedding there. We were treated to a lovely lunch with great service, showcasing everything that was to come. Victoria and Agnes were very helpful in setting out the different options for the day and what was possible within the spaces available. There is a good variety of where you can hold the different elements of a wedding depending on your preference. On the day of the wedding itself, every single member of staff were incredibly kind to our guests and made the hotel a home away from home - this made all the difference and meant we were not stressed at all going into the day. There were some last minute changes required due to weather, and the team were so helpful in planning for lots of eventualities to make sure we had a great day no matter what. Our guests commented that the wedding food was the best they have had. It came out promptly, with excellent service, and was hot and unbelievably tasty. The dishes looked exactly the same as they had at the tasting. We had the most wonderful day and if you are looking for a coastal wedding with incredible food and great service then this is the venue for you. We will be eternally grateful to everyone at the Gallivant for enabling us to have our perfect wedding day.

After 26 year together we decided to get married. We had arranged to get married at Eastbourne Registry office and have our wedding breakfast at the Powdermill Hotel in Battle. Unfortunately they had to cancel as they had to shut down for refurbishment and recommended Horsted Place Hotel as an alternative venue. Our wedding was to be a small family affair with only 13 guests and Horsted Place managed to accommodate us on our requested date. We cannot fault the service we received, from initial contact, to the day itself. Everything ran very smoothly indeed. The wedding breakfast was fantastic with our guests commenting on how lovely the food was, the presentation, the service and the venue. Everybody enjoyed the day, especially us. Thank you for putting in the effort to making our day very special indeed. We would certainly recommend Horsted Place Hotel as a venue for your wedding. Claire & Steve

From the moment, I viewed The Claverton I knew it was the right one. Kerry was great with communication throughout the planning process. He listened to everything we wanted and made sure we got it. The night before the wedding I stayed in the family suite it was spotless and the beds were so comfy. My family stayed in the other rooms and they thought the same. On the morning of the wedding. We were brought pastries, jam, and fresh fruit juice, which was lovely. The hotel looked absolutely stunning. We chose the sit down barbeque for our wedding breakfast, and everyone said to me how great the food was, in the evening we had freshly made pizzas and buffet which was also so tasty. All of the staff were very attentive and an absolute credit to the Claverton, the only complaint I have was the day went so quickly, Thank you to everyone at The Claverton for making such an important day so perfect.

otherwise this was pretty much a perfect winter wedding in a very scenic town. All thanks to Natalie and her team at The George In Rye who from day 1 of our planning were super efficient and helpful and who on the day were superbly organised and attentive to our needs. My mum did high end silver service waitressing for nearly 40 years and she was very impressed at everything she saw and all our thirty guests really enjoyed the day (beyond stuff people just say to the married couple) in large part due to the venue and staff.

The planning stage was made so easy by Rosie with lots of meaningful contact and support! The venue is great and every staff member was friendly and helpful. We all had a great time!
