Selden Barns, at Selden Farm, is set within over 50 acres of the South Downs National Park, the idyllic rural retreat for your wedding day.
This family-run venue is exclusively yours to enjoy, featuring beautiful, characterful barns, with Old Selden Farmhouse at the heart of the venue. It also has stunning manicured lawns and a terrace overlooking the open farmland and forests.
Facilities and Capacity
At Selden Barns, wedding ceremonies are licensed for up to 100 guests in the stunning Ceremony Barn adjoining the Farmhouse with original oak beams, fireplace, and exposed brickwork. To add a little extra sparkle, fairy lights entwine the beams overhead while you make your wedding vows. Alternatively outside ceremonies can take place on the manicured lawns with stunning views. After your ceremony, enjoy pre-reception drinks and canapes on one of their lawns within the walled gardens or terraces adjoining the Grand Barn. With the capacity to seat up to 230 guests for your wedding breakfast and up to 250 for your evening reception, this versatile and flexible wedding space is second to none. The space boasts pleated drapes, swags and tails, vintage chandeliers, and a fairy light canopy. For your evening wedding reception, party the night away on the venue's raised, chequered dance floor with provision for a DJ or band. During the summer months, step off the dance floor and through the doors onto the splendid terrace and lawns to enjoy your favourite drink and look up at the stars.
Services Offered
Your venue hire includes tables, chairs, a fully stocked cash/card bar, staff, gift and cake tables, as well as ample parking. Also included in your hire will be a Wedding Coordinator to help you plan and oversee your special day, ensuring your wedding day runs perfectly. Selden Barns also benefits from nine guest bedrooms, accommodating up to 24 wedding guests, as well as a fabulous getting-ready room for you and your bridesmaids. As an established venue, they have an excellent reputation with some of the best local wedding suppliers, including florists, photographers, stylists, and more. Please ask the team for more information. In addition, with great road links to Worthing, Brighton, Arundel, Horsham, and Chichester, it makes it easily accessible for out-of-town guests.

Perfect in every way…
We can’t recommend Selden Barns enough. Nicki, Ben and their team delivered on every level. From the first visit to the big day itself we were swept away by the dedication, kindness and professionalism. Nicki’s eye for detail and ability to liaise with all the different suppliers was fantastic. They ran the actual day itself like clockwork and with smiles on their faces at all times. It so good to deal with people who clearly enjoy their job. Thank you to everyone at the stunning Selden Barns for making our big day that little bit more special.

What an amazing team!
The team at Selden barns are beyond amazing, we'd like to particularly thank Sairose, Nikki and Andy for making our wedding so magical. Andy provided us with such a wonderful breakfast the morning of and the morning after our wedding and was so funny and welcoming. Nothing was ever too much for Nikki or Sairose, they both honestly above and beuond throughout the whole planning process and the wedding itself. Everything was so seamless on the day we honestly didn't have to worry about anything. We had regular planning meetings to run through everything and this ensured we hadn't forgotten any little details. They were there through every moment and we honestly can't thank them enough! We will definitely be going back there to celebrate many future anniversaries.

The perfect day
We recently got married at Selden Barns and wow what a day! Saoirse was just amazing, any question was never too much. She was very quick at responding to emails/calls and made my job 100x easier and less stressful.
From the night before to the day, Saoirse was amazing, she answered 1873 phone calls and questions and ran around after us with whatever we needed (a plug at 7pm)! Nothing was too difficult.
All the staff at Selden Barns were lovely, friendly and professional. Our day was faultless and that is all down to Saoirse and the incredible staff at Selden Barns, we will forever be grateful.

October wedding
I was in love with selden barns the moment I saw it. I loved the fact that everything was all in one area so guest would be able to spread out but still be together.
It was most beautiful setting, and the staff are absolutely amazing. Nothing was to much for them to help you with.
They helped make our day so very special.
All of our guest were in awe of the setting and said how lovely the place was. I can't thank you enough for making our day so special.

Stunning venue
It’s difficult to know where to start writing this, as my new wife and I had the most amazing experience working with the team at Selden barns and the venue it’s self. We utilised Selden barns for our drinks reception, wedding breakfast, evening celebrations and accomodation. We had our ceremony at a local church, however, there are two beautiful spaces to have a ceremony at Selden barns.
Nicki and her team were beyond fantastic, from greeting us from our first visit, multiple meetings during the run up, coordinating with suppliers and creating and executing the perfect timeline. All of this making our wedding run smoothly on the day. They were faultless! We couldn’t have asked for anymore.
The venue itself was beautifully laid out. A large grass area for us to have an outdoor drinks reception, with lots of shade in case it’s too hot. When it was time for confetti and our wedding breakfast, Nicki and her team expertly handled guiding our guests to exactly where they needed to be.
For the breakfast we had 12 tables plus the top table, there was space for more if we needed. There is a large bar which was utilised by all, as it was a very hot day, our guests weren’t waiting for more than a few minutes before being served drinks. There is a wide selection of soft and alcoholic drinks.
The dedicated dance floor was a big hit with our evening guests, who spent the majority of their time busting some questionable moves.
There is an outside covered seating area with heaters, if needed, which is adjacent to the dance floor with lovely seats with cushions on.
I could go on and on about the superb service we received but I’ll stop there.
We cannot thank Nicki, Ben and the other staff enough for a fantastic day. We would highly recommend this venue to anyone!

Amazing place
We couldn’t be more grateful to celebrate our wedding in this venue. From the first moment we saw it, we fell in love with it. This venue offers everything you could want—ceremonies indoors or outdoors in the fresh air, rooms to stay in after the festivities, and simply a fantastic reception room. The small lights played big role in the decoration. You don’t need large decorations to make this place the best for your wedding.
The surroundings of the venue are like a fairy tale—fresh air, hills, horses, and meadows are something special that will stay in our hearts forever.
The venue offers rooms for the bride and groom to dress and prepare for the big day.

An absolutely incredible venue
My partner and I got engaged in 2021 and started looking for venues towards the end of the year for a 2024 wedding. As soon as we started touring Selden Barns, we knew it was the one. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and so well maintained, and the fact that everything is all on one site makes it so much easier to have a good flow to the day. I worked closely with Nicki and Saorise on site who ensured over several planning meetings that the day would run smoothly. They asked me things we hadn't even thought about such as what order will the bridesmaids go down the aisle that meant it was truly a day that my husband and I designed. On the wedding day, we literally had to do nothing besides relax and get married as Selden Barns handles everything! The staff are kind, attentive and found no request too small to incorporate. My wedding party was incredibly lucky there was not a wedding the day prior and were able to set up for the wedding the day before and the venue was so great at ensuring even that ran smoothly. For those guests and ourselves who stayed onsite overnight, the breakfast prepared by chef Andy of breakfast sandwiches, pastries, cereal and yogurts was exactly what we needed to get our energy back. He helped us all feel so welcome and connected personally with so many of the guests with his humour and conversation. Every guest I spoke to mentioned how the site was amazing, and we would definitely recommend this venue.

Our Wedding
I would highly recommend Selden Barns to any couple looking for a wedding venue in West Sussex. We and our guests had the most amazing day and evening at our wedding on Saturday 6 July. We met Nicky at the very beginning of our journey when she showed us around the venue and she was there with us on our special day which was wonderful, she was very kind, helpful and professional, thank you Nicky!

Amazing wedding venue
Selden Barns is an amazing venue, the grounds are so beautiful and it's fantastic having the ceremony and reception all in one place. Selden is amazing regardless of the season - we got married in October and had some rain and it was still the perfect venue as there is plenty of indoor and outdoor space that is all just as lovely. We had the most incredible day, we wouldn't have changed a thing and couldn't have wished for it to be more perfect! All our guests had an amazing time. Having a dedicated wedding event manager was so useful and everything went so smoothly thanks to Steph and the team who put both of us at ease at every step of the way. We both felt like we could completely enjoy the day without worrying about what was happening and where we needed to be! We would recommend Selden to anyone looking for a wedding venue!
