Your wedding day is one of the most important chapters in your life and I’m here to document it beautifully. I’m Jon Thorne, a full-time professional wedding photographer based in the Midlands, capturing heartfelt love stories across the UK and destination weddings across Europe.
With over a decade of experience and a background in editorial and documentary photography, I specialise in creating elegant, natural wedding photography that blends composed portraits with authentic, candid moments. My style is refined yet real a true reflection of your story, your connection, and the atmosphere of your day. Whether you’re celebrating in a historic manor, rustic barn, coastal venue or planning a luxurious wedding abroad, I’ll be there quietly present, camera in hand, capturing genuine emotion as it unfolds.

Jon Thorne Weddings covers weddings throughout the Midlands and all across the United Kingdom & Europe. His wedding collection includes all-day coverage, an online gallery and slideshow, and edited high-resolution images for you to print and share.
Your wedding is unique, likewise, your requirements. Whether you'd like a beautiful leatherbound storybook, a stunning fine art album or even smaller copy books for parents and other important family members, these premium storybooks and albums can be designed to suit your own style and taste.

What does the wedding package include?
Coverage all day from prep to your first dance and a little after, access to your images on a web gallery in high resolution and depending on collection chosen a choice of stunning storybooks/Albums
How far in advance should I contact you?
On average my clients normally book me a year in advance, however, feel free to contact me anytime as I could be available on your big day
Do you cover more than one wedding a day?
No
Can you travel?
Yes, all over the UK and further afield, Italy, France and wherever your getting married
What is the charge for travelling?
I would ask that for locations over 100 miles away from my base in Staffordshire a little extra re travel costs would be added to the package, but this can be discussed in detail upon meeting

Do you use a specific technique or innovative approach?
I have adapted to shooting a mixture of styles so I fit in with my clients, some clients like a really documentary unobtrusive style some clients love the fine art creative approach, some like both
What kind of equipment do you use?
I use a wide variety of equipment throughout the big day and into the evening, mainly Nikon cameras and lenses, as well as specialised lighting... there is always a back up kit, just in case!
Do you offer any tool to display the photos online?
Yes, i provide all my couples with a passord protected web gallery acsessible from all devices
What's the delivery time for a photographic report?

How do you charge extra time?
I always stay up to 30-45 mins after the first dance if more coverage is required an extra cost is added
What are the forms of payment?
I ask for a deposit the two half payments to spread costs for my clients, payments can be made via bank transfer, cheque and credit card
How do you work?
I shoot as unobtrusively as possible capturing all the" must have" images as well as those important unscripted candid moments, fun, laughter and emotion, sometimes tears!

What a wonderful photographer!
From start to finish, Jon put me and my husband at ease, and was completely patient with all the different photo combinations that we wanted to capture during our special day. He worked so hard to achieve these, and understood how important these were to us.
Our family and friends said how friendly he was, and so easy and approachable to work with. The photographs that Jon took are absolutely incredible and we will cherish them forever.

Simply stunning
Hiring Jon was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. I'm not someone who likes to have their photo taken, but Jon instantly put me at ease. All our guests commented on how professional and polite Jon was and what a pleasure he was to work with. Our venue even told us that they hope he shoots a wedding there again as he was so lovely.
Jon sent our gallery back to us 3 days after the wedding and we couldn't be happier with our photos. There isn't one I don't like and I can't wait to get them printed and framed in our home. The only issue we'll have is deciding which ones to print!

Our Dream Photographer
I found Jon through a list of recommended suppliers our wedding venue gave us, and it was honestly the best thing that happened during our wedding planning. Jon is one of the sweetest, most genuinely nice person I have ever met. From the start he was so helpful and patient with us while we were discussing wedding plans. We also had an engagement shoot done with him, which was one of the best decisions we made. It was so fun, and not in any way stressful or forced.
For our wedding, we had Jon and the lovely Laura who works along side him as a videographer. They both work so well together and got so many amazing shots that we will forever treasure. We were so happy with his work that we bought one of his stunning wedding photo books, he laid out the photos we chose and then it was sent to Italy to be beautifully put together.

Perfect, perfect, perfect.
Jon was without doubt the best wedding "supplier" we organised for our wedding day. No words can explain just how good Jon. As well as his excellent photography skills, he organises and works efficiently. He completely disappeared into the background of the day, and captured some beautiful shots - we forgot he was there. He worked seamlessly with the videographer we had organised too.
He captured our day to a tee. From the day we booked Jon (in 2020!), to the day we received our finished wedding gallery (3 days after our actual wedding may I add!) he has been amazing. Communication 10/10.

Could not recommend more!
My partner Kate and I booked Jon for our wedding in October this year and we could not be happier with our choice! I would give 6 stars if I could!
