I’m Marcus Armstrong, and I am The Storyteller Celebrant.
Based in Gillingham, Dorset, I cover the South West and beyond and am willing to travel as far as needed to conduct your amazing ceremony! I am a fully qualified Civil Celebrant, professional Screenwriter, and Actor; ready to make your wedding or renewal ceremony exactly as be.
A Different Kind of Celebrant
Gone are dusty old words and bland templates—with me, everything is completely original. I take the traditional and put a modern and personal twist on it, based on your unique love story.
Now, don't get me wrong—it's a serious day with a serious commitment, but it should also be joyful, happy, and fun! I will never deliver a boring ceremony—with me, it's all about using humour and laughter to enhance the emotion of the wedding day, weaving a line between serious and funny to create something truly unique—like you!
I don't use checklists or forms to gather information; instead, we just chat! You tell me how you see the day, then you tell me some stories, and I do the rest. And it's always the little things that matter most.

- An intimate wedding where the couple exchanged vows promising to remember to load the dishwasher and pick up their socks!
- An illustrious, sparkling celebrity wedding at Christmas that was featured in Hello! Magazine. We stripped away the circus and it all became simple, focussing on the people and not the spangles; and how it all started with a dodgy cup of tea.

Our winter wedding at Hedsor house 2023

Absolutely amazing!
Marcus was amazing from start to finish. When we first asked him to write our ceremony we had no idea what we wanted but he talked us through all options and we soon figured it out. Marcus wrote our ceremony with so much thought and hit the nail on the head with the theme and captured our story perfectly. Almost every guest commented on how amazing Marcus was and we can’t agree with them more. We can’t recommend Marcus enough, he’s great!

A perfect blend of love and laughter
We didn't know what we were looking for when we started our search for a celebrant, but we stumbled across Marcus's website and were drawn in by his welcome video. We arranged a call with him and knew straight away that he was the celebrant for us. Marcus is friendly, relatable and approachable and we knew immediately that we were in good hands.
After booking him, we had several meetings with Marcus, one of which involved him coming to our venue in order to get a feel for the space. He was organised and professional throughout and gave us so many ideas which helped us to collaborate on our perfect ceremony.
Marcus made our ceremony so unique and personal. He weaved humour throughout it and created the perfect blend of love and laughter. It was an incredibly memorable ceremony and so many of our guests told us that it was the hilight of their day.
We couldn't reccomend Marcus enough and are hoping that some of our guests will have him as their celebrant in the future so we have the pleasure of attending a Marcus led ceremony again!

Wonderful Ceremony
Marcus was INCREDIBLE! Our ceremony was beautiful, personal, funny, and everything we could’ve asked for. Our guests were so impressed with the vows that Marcus wrote for us that they were the talk of the evening. He also prepared a script of our vows that has become a great keepsake. I would recommend Marcus to anyone who needs an officiant! Thank you so much for making our day so special!

Exceeded all expectation!
We couldn't have asked for more with how incredibly magical our ceremony went. Marcus orchestrated the ceremony so beautifully - it was filled with warmth, laughter, and most importantly a personal touch reflecting our very own personalities. It went flawlessly even when the Bluetooth speaker unexpectedly went out of control! What I love the most is that he went above and beyond to get to know us personally from the very first moment we 'met' despite us not being based in the UK at the moment. To be honest, I was hesitant when he asked us to write a couple of stories about our love/each other. Little did I know that the story writing process not only create so much personality in the script for the ceremony, but also it made me feel so much more deeply in love and appreciate my husband even more! It was so genuine, engaging and stress-free having you as our celebrant that we could do it all over again. A big thank you from the both of us! Xx

We wanted a ceremony which had no alignment to religion, but simply told a story of our relationship and adventures over the last 12 years. Marcus immediately understood what we wanted and was so easy to work with.
After a couple of video calls and some content from each of us, he brought our story to life highlighting the most important ingredients of our friendship and partnership and ultimately why we decided to get married.
Marcus absolutely excelled on the big day with a commanding performance that captivated our 80 strong guests. Even our photographer paused to listen for a while during the ceremony such due to the story telling.
We would highly recommend Marcus for any type of wedding or ceremony due to his welcoming and flexible approach and when pulling together the cornerstones of content and his ability to bring tell our story to those closest to us with a perfect balance of wit, laughter and lovely sentiment.
We had so many complimentary comments at our reception, many asking how long we'd known Marcus due to the way he was able to effortlessly articulate our story, even though we'd only met twice over video call and for an hour in person.
We can't recommend Marcus highly enough as he absolutely delivered everything we were looking for in a celebrant and so much more.

Faultless Celebrant with such a personal approach.
