The experience we had with Mia and the team at The Hare and Hounds was nothing short than amazing from start to finish.

Following our first visit in January 2023 we knew we would want to hold our wedding there in March 2025.

Working with Mia as our co-ordinator was so smooth - she was super responsive and quick to come back with in depth answers to any questions we had. She constantly kept us updated and aware of any changes or confirmations that she had been given.

We had a joint meeting a few months before which really left no doubt in our minds that we had the right venue for us. We had 75 guests in the day and 100 - 110 in the evening and nothing was too much trouble.

As we approached the day Mia liaised with our vendors to ensure they were confident with their set-up and definitely helped ease my nerves on our day before meeting. The handover between her and any of the staff the days before was impeccable - myself, my family and bridal party were booked onsite for the day before and she ensured we had a table booked and that reception were aware we would be wanting to have breakfast delivered to the Gameskeepers Cottage.

On the note of rooms, the selection at The Hare and Hounds was amazing. We had decided to book the Gameskeepers Cottage for the night before and the night of the wedding which allowed so much space for myself and my bridal party to get ready.
There was space to spare in the Cottage for (at any given time) at least 7 people. Even when the photographer arrived it didn't feel crowded.
The Cottage itself is beautiful with a small kitchen area with a fridge, separate bathroom and shower and lovely outside spaces (including a hot tub).

On the day, Mia popped between the main venue space and the Cottage to keep me updated on the progress and plans which helped ease my nerves and she supported my Groom in managing his nerves as well.

During the drinks reception Mia managed the team (both Hare and Hounds staff and our external suppliers) move things between the Beaufort Restaurant, with its stunning bay windows and high beamed ceiling, to the Westonbirt Room, with its gorgeous windows and neutral walls and floors. The space offered in the Westonbirt Room is perfect for any colour scheme - we had burnt orange, terracotta and browns.

Our group shots were held at the front of The Hotel which is picture perfect with an area for a fantastic confetti shot and even though the Hotel is found close to a main road you can not tell.
Throughout the hotel there are several smaller rooms that can accommodate couple pictures and other, more intimate group shots.

As guests were seated we were able to have our couple portraits within the gorgeous grounds and there are plenty of options between wooded areas or more modern shots against the lovely light coloured stones walls.

When selecting the food you get a private food tasting a few months before your date and the team are incredibly accommodating for dietary requirement. On the day we had so many compliments around the food, even from some of our very fussy guests.

The transition from wedding breakfast to evening reception was seamless and the handover between Mia and the team was incredibly smooth. Our team for the evening were on point, there whenever I had a question but not intrusive so they felt just like part of the party.

As part of the package you have your own private bar that is placed perfectly between the outside space and the Westonbirt Room where your guests will dance the night away. Our personal bartender kept all the guests entertained and never waiting too long for a drink. We opted for a hog roast (at a slight additional cost) but it was absolutely worth it. We had the weather on our side so had the pig on the spit for our guests to see and I don't think we had any left over!

Right from the start to even after The Hare and Hounds have been incredible in their support and knowledge on events. Their professionalism was second to none. We could not recommend them highly enough.

All the staff were outstanding, professional and attentive. Mia our wedding coordinator was amazing, always making me feel relaxed and nothing was too much. The rooms are beautiful and the honeymoon suite luxurious and homely We couldn't fault anything and all the guests said the same. just overall the best day ever. thankyou so much❤️🫶

We chose to have the Hare and Hounds as our wedding venue about a year prior to our special day.
Once we have spoken with the team, they were always friendly and courteous and willing to help as much as possible. They were able to assist with complex arrangements around dietary necessities. They laid out a time line with us and were as flexible as possible in accommodating matters we wanted to make our day stand out.
The venue is beautiful and set in a picturesque part of the Cotswolds. However still relatively accessible from Bristol. Having family traveling from all corners of the globe, it was great that the Hare and Hounds were able to accommodate most of the wedding guests.
I would readily recommend this venue to anyone looking to have their special day in a wonderful and memorable place, with solid and dependable support throughout.

The Hare and Hounds was the most wonderful venue for our reception, and we couldn't be happier - we had the absolute best day.
We booked a late availability winter package with around 5 months between booking and the day. The team at the Hare and Hounds were outstanding - patient and enthusiastic, which are the most important qualities in organising an unique wedding. The setting was gorgeous - christmassy and festive, but classy and opulant. It allowed for stunning photos by the trees, both inside and out.
We had an Afternoon Tea when we arrived, with the wedding breakfast later at dinner time. Both meals were incredible, and our guests continue to talk about the beef! As the bride was vegetarian, the Chef was flexible to allow the same meal with a vegetarian alternative (pithvier) to the beef. The team worked with one of our guests who had numerous allergies to create an alternative, and our guest was really happy. The service was so well organised - we had 45 guests, and the team got the meals out almost at exactly the same time, so everyone was eating together. Meals were placed in front of the table at the same time, which was a lovely touch.
Service was brilliant on the day. The wedding coordinator, Mia, looked after us for most of the day, and then left us in the hands of the duty manager and a dedicated barman.
The team was really flexible with our photoshoots - we had inside and outside photos across the hotel and grounds, and a sparkler shot.
The day was above and beyond what we expected, and we are so grateful to the time, dedication and care from the team.

We got married here at the start of november and can't say highly enough how special the day was. the staff went above and beyond our expectations, seeking solutions before we had even identified issues. the food was amazing, the room was stunning and I couldn't have wished for a better day!!

Had an amazing day here! Staff were really attentive without being overbearing! Had a slight issue of a table parasol tipping a load of drinks over a guest, but they offered to pay for the dry cleaning (and it was caused by the wind!!

The Hare and Hounds were amazing from start to finish with the initial tour, wedding planning, menu tasting and on the wedding day! Eliza, the wedding coordinator, was always very professional and responsive to any queries I had.
The menu tasting was a lovely experience in the Beaufort Restaurant and all the food tasted amazing. All our guests commented on the day how nice the food was (and how generous the portion sizes were!), some said it was the best wedding food they had eaten! Eliza and the kitchen staff ensured all the many different dietary requirements were catered for.
Eliza was really helpful with the wedding planning and really flexible about how we wanted the day to run. The morning of the wedding she met with me and ensured the last minute details were sorted including organising all the cups of confetti! The Gamekeeper's cottage gave me, my bridesmaids, flower girls and boys a lovely space on site for us to get ready in. The Beaufort Restaurant looked amazing for the ceremony, the Hotel grounds with lots of seating were great for all our family and friends to relax in and play garden games! The nearby fields and meadows look amazing in our photos! The Westonbirt Room looked great for the Wedding breakfast with the fairy light canopy and a dance floor for the evening!
On the day all the staff were very friendly, made everything run very smoothly and made our day so special! We can’t wait to visit for our future anniversaries to remember the day!

We had such a wonderful wedding in April at the Hare and Hounds Hotel in Gloucestershire. The staff were fantastic - so professional, polite and accommodating; everyone said how impressed they were with them. The food and wine was brilliant, as was the service. The team went above and beyond for us, putting lots of thought into small details. We used the library for photographs as it rained all day, which created a great backdrop to our photos with the leather chairs, Victorian windows and book-lined walls. A lot of guests stayed at the hotel overnight and all commented on how lovely their rooms were. It was great to have breakfast altogether with our guests the next day before leaving. We would definitely recommend this as a venue for future events.

From the moment we enquired to the big day, the H&H were so professional and friendly!

The big day was perfect, and ran smoothly the wedding coordinator Eliza was great and checked in with us on the morning and had everything sorted with the suppliers.

The food was fantastic and everyone loved the venue, especially us we could not ask for a more perfect place to get married !
