You want your wedding ceremony to be unique, unlike anyone else's. You want to see family and friends having a great time, relaxed, sharing the joy and feeling like it's all so 'you'. You think that the ceremony is at the heart of your wedding day. You want a ceremony which allows you to be who you are, celebrating your love and all your quirks and fabulous individuality.
I specialise in funny, creative, ultra-personalised wedding ceremonies, blending the traditions you love with fresh ideas. My ceremonies are always warm and joyful - I’m known for bringing fun and laughter, and making a happy atmosphere - whether it’s a relaxed or formal wedding. I balance this with the seriousness and romance at the the heart of the ceremony, when you make your vows and we reflect on the commitment of marriage. My ceremonies are beautifully written, real, heartfelt and authentic to you. You'll never read gushy, cliched expressions, which sound like they belong on a cheesy greetings card.
Creating something bespoke that people say is 'just you' is my speciality. I spent my previous career writing PR copy for companies like Gillette and Rolls-Royce, and I was also a communications skills trainer for British Airways for several years, so I know all about getting your thoughts and feelings into words. I love capturing your personality and vibe, so everyone at your wedding sees a bit more of who you are as a couple. I put your love for each other, the promises you want to make and your hopes for the future at the heart of everything. The proof of the pudding is that, although I welcome them, I hardly get any changes to the first draft of the ceremony.
Working together is easy and fun and the result is a ceremony you’re excited to share with your family and friends. On your wedding day, I’ll be there to look after everything. I'll lead your ceremony with sparkle and style and I’ll make sure you and your guests feel welcome, relaxed and happy.
I'm equally comfortable with small, intimate ceremonies and large, formal occasions. I love family-friendly weddings and will happily include your friends, relatives and pets in the ceremony. I'm practical and I think about the details and what works well, together with your hopes and dreams for your special day.

Frequently Asked Questions:
What's the process of working with you?
After we've had a chat and you're happy to go ahead, I'll book you into my diary. Then we can crack on with planning your ceremony. I'll send you a questionnaire to help me get to know you better and then we'll meet to plan the ceremony in detail. I love meeting you at your venue if possible, so we can get the feel of the space and its potential. Then I'll write you an outline ceremony to approve, before writing the full ceremony. You'll have the script to approve 8-10 weeks before the ceremony date. You could have a rehearsal the day before and on the day, I'll be with you at least an hour before and I'll leave you when the drinks are flowing -about half an hour after the ceremony.
How do we combine our celebrant wedding with our legal marriage?
You will need to book your legal marriage with the register office. Most couples choose to do a simple statutory ceremony with 2 witnesses (sometimes called a 2+2). However you can also request the registrars to come to your venue - provided it's licensed. There are things to consider about the different options, which I'll help you with, so you can make the right choice for you.
Our registration service says they do personalised ceremonies. What's different about what you offer?
If you want something really personal, fun, unique to you, that's a celebrant wedding. Registrars offer a standardised ceremony that everyone gets. You can tweak it with a reading or a theme but it's no way personal to you. There are also all kinds of legally binding rules about the words that must be said, the time you're allowed, and the venues you can choose. By contrast, with me, you can have anything you like, whenever and wherever you like. My ceremony for you will be 100% bespoke, and every word is written by me - from your love story, to your vows, to the creative rituals and who's involved. Everything is for you. With a registration wedding, you have no choice about who leads your ceremony, so you won't get to know them in advance. That's not very relaxing. Our journey together lasts a few months to maybe over a year, so we really get to know each other. It's like having a friend lead your wedding - a friend who is great at ceremonies!
Do we need to have ideas for our wedding ceremony in advance?
No - not at all! Sometimes I start with a completely blank canvas and at other times, couples have their own ideas. We'll talk about how you want the ceremony to feel and the vibe you're looking for. I ask lots of questions, so I find out about you and what you really want. I get all the fun details and stories out of you, so I can use these in the ceremony. I'll offer you lots of choices and suggestions along the way, and I encourage you to go with whatever feels right. My aim is for you to feel excited about sharing your wedding ceremony with your family and friends, knowing they'll love it as much as you do!
What is included in your fee?
The entire ceremony, starting from our first conversation, to the moment I say congratulations. Everything is included. I never charge for extra rituals or ceremonies e.g. handfasting or unity candle because in my view, they're intrinsic to your wedding ceremony. I offer a First Toast to kick off your drinks reception in style and I'll help you organise the confetti line - both included free of charge. In the run up to your wedding, you have unlimited access to me. Looking after you and helping you to feel excited and unstressed is part of what I do and it's important. I respond quickly to you and I'm totally transparent about finances - see my website www.beautifuldaycelebrant.com/weddings for everything in detail.
