We had our wedding at Dundas Castle and cannot recommend it highly enough. The entire experience was exceptional, thanks to the wonderful team, especially Ellice and Aileen. Before the wedding, Aileen, the events manager, walked us through the whole itinerary. She made sure we felt completely comfortable with every detail. On the day, Ellice was truly outstanding. She kept everything running seamlessly, anticipated what we needed, and appeared exactly when we needed her. From running up and down the Auld Keep steps trying to find my makeup top-up kit, to rescuing my veil from our photographer’s hat, to guiding us to every important moment she made the day feel effortless! I didn’t look at my phone once because I knew she had everything in hand. She coordinated our vendors beautifully and ensured all our guests were well looked after. We stayed at Dundas for two days, which made the celebration feel so relaxed and special. The value for what we spent was excellent we had looked at several castle venues near Edinburgh and were able to enjoy two full days at Dundas for the cost of just one day at other venues we considered, without compromising on quality. Another huge benefit was their incredible relationships with vendors. Many of our, including the falconry and whiskey tasting through Maximillion Events and performers from Deadly Acts Theatre, already knew the space well, which made everything run even more smoothly. The castle itself is magical, and you can decorate it up just as you envision it, for us that was gothic and romantic and it was perfect. The rooms were incredibly comfortable, and our families felt completely at home. Our guests also loved the warm hospitality from the entire Dundas team everyone was so friendly and attentive. And of course, the friendly alpaca and the sweet castle doggos were such a charming bonus and a delight for our guests. We’re so grateful to Dundas Castle, Aileen, Ellice, and the whole team for giving us a wedding we will cherish forever. If you’re considering this venue, we wholeheartedly recommend it.

We couldn’t be more grateful for the incredible experience we had at Duns Castle this past November. Our wedding ran flawlessly from start to finish, and both we and our guests had an unforgettable time -- memories we’ll carry with us forever. We chose this venue because it allowed us to select our own suppliers, and comfortably accommodate our 24 guests for four days, three nights. Andrea, the estate administrator, was able to provide suggestions and guidance throughout the planning process and was wonderful with communicating the final itinerary with our vendors so everything was seamless once we arrived. In addition to the activities we hosted at the estate (a private whisky tasting, and mini highland games on the lawn), our guests enjoyed roaming the grounds, hiking to Duns Law, and taking snowy strolls into town to visit the local restaurants and shops. If you’re looking for a venue that combines beautiful surroundings with outstanding service, and the flexibility to create a truly bespoke wedding experience, this is the place. Our time at Duns Castle was exceptional in every way, and we would recommend it wholeheartedly to any couple planning their wedding.

My husband and I were married at Thirlestane Castle this past June. We first discovered Thirlestane Castle online and instantly contacted them to see what it would entail for an international couple to be married there. I quickly heard back from Rhona and worked with her over the months to create the best wedding day and venue we could have imagined. We stayed in the Lauderdale Apartment at the castle for our wedding and it was an exceptional place for us to get ready at, and enjoy our time after our wedding. Rhona made our day so easy and smooth and took care of absolutely everything. I highly recommend Thirlestane Castle for your wedding day to be absolutely perfect!

I absolutely LOVED every second of my wedding so thank you very much for all your help in the organization and on the day itself. We have received some lovely thank you letters from the guests who all mentioned what a superb setting it was, how lovely it all looked, how delicious the food was and how smoothly it all ran. All I can say is go and see the castle and your venue hunting will be over .. it has the perfect magic of being rustic but breathtaking … we didn’t know what we wanted till we saw it and then the hunt was over … after one visit ! The castle is only beaten by the team who make it as breathtaking as it is .. Sandy took us by the hand and gave us all the advice found is the right vendors and helped to create the Christmas magic we wanted .. nothing was too difficult.. and the day ran like the very best days do, without a hitch and planned with military precision .. I’m going to kiss the guys so much …. Already trying to find a reason for a hi v another party there ! Thank you everyone ! Xx

We have had the most wonderful experience getting married at Barony Castle. We first visited for a wedding open day and we were blown away by how beautiful the Elibank Suite is. Barony had everything we were looking for; stunning ceremony space, the right amount of privacy for our day, beautiful grounds for pictures, lots of space for our guests to stay. Hannah (wedding co-ordinator) was exceptional. She was an invaluable part of our wedding planning with her guidance, communication, organisation and pre-wedding meetings. She co-ordinated the day so perfectly for us, everything ran so smoothly and we appreciate her lead in this. The food is stunning. The staff are amazing. We were so looked after from our first visit and every time we have been. There is so much included in the wedding packages on offer, we were so appreciative about how transparent they were and nothing was too much to ask. We found that other venues almost tripped you up with extras that you would have to pay but Barony were so clear and we feel we got so much for our money. They have lots of recommended suppliers, Beautifully covered provided stunning decor for our ceremony and had lots more on offer. We feel that they truly wanted us to have the day we dreamed of and delivered it seamlessly. We had a perfect wedding day and Barony Castle will forever have such a special place in our hearts.

Winton Estate went above and beyond all our expectations. The first impression of Winton Estate upon arriving is that none of the pictures and videos we saw did it justice. We were rendered speechless as we first stepped foot inside the marvelous Castle. While the Castle speaks for itself, the real gemstone of Winton is the staff that they have managed to assemble. The amount of help that we received while planning our wedding there made it as effortless as planning a wedding could possibly be. Huge shoutout to Rae McGonigle for being so helpful every step of the way. Trying to plan a destination wedding can be so stressful, but Rae gave us so many phenomenal suggestions. Our wedding day included so many events from the morning until the end of the night. Our morning started with Highland Games. All the staff that helped with the Games brought so much energy to the event that it was impossible not to have a great time. The wedding ceremony inside the Castle was beautiful! The staff members were all so helpful across every aspect of getting ready and down the aisle. After the wedding, it was right into cocktail hour and again the staff and the caterers were so on top of it. All of the guests were so impressed by how fluid the whole day felt. The hall for dinner was decorated with such class and elegance for the wedding breakfast. The food was served in such a way that it felt almost choreographed. The room was then cleaned and set up for dancing before we knew it. In the meantime, Ken had a whisky tasting set up in the cellar that the guests had a blast taking part in. The staff was so attentive to everyone’s needs, checking in at just the right times to help everything go seamlessly and keep everything on track. The next morning, the staff had a delicious breakfast buffet ready for us as we woke up where Sir Francis Ogilvy took time out of his day to stop by and congratulate us on our nuptials. Even after we left Winton Estate, Rae and the staff helped with all post-event questions. It truly was a day that we, and our guests, will never forget. We so highly recommend Winton Estate and the wonderful staff that excelled across the entire event.

If your looking for a Castle wedding then you need look no further, Dalhousie Castle Is the perfect venue Incredibly Beautiful and authentic inside and out with stunning photo opportunities at every turn And a perfectly private stunning little Chapel for the ceremony The wedding team are fabulous , very friendly and helpful , and we were able to create a bespoke package for our elopement wedding They gave us recommendations of suppliers who were all absolutely perfect , and arranged our piper and an owl to deliver our rings We chose the turret room for our honeymoon suite which was just perfect and soo romantic And they kept in touch with us with all the details at the right times And the day was perfect from the moment we arrived too , everything had been taken care of and arranged , we were able to just relax and be taken care of , and we honestly couldn’t have asked for more We were looked after beautifully by not just the team but all the hotel staff too and we felt like royalty for the day Our whole wedding couldn’t have been more perfect and we can’t thank everyone at Dalhousie enough We’re definitely going to come back and stay for our anniversary, can’t wait ❤️

We had such an amazing day without any hiccups it all went so smoothly thanks to the amazing staff that we cannot fault and all our guests, family and friends are saying the same thing. With exceptional food and service which made it perfect and we loved and enjoyed every minute spent there. Would highly recommend this venue as an out of this world experience and never to be forgotten !!
